Russo came by the next day and provided an assessment and noticed a number of critical problems which included an issue with the feed from the provider. He was always to open a case with our provider to look into their issue. He then scheduled the repair and was able to fit us in even during the holiday week! - Replace Breaker panel (the old one was in pretty bad conditions with no door and cables everywhere) - Ran 3 new lines - Install a new ground ( we did not have one at all ) On the day of the appointment they were on time and after the job was done they explain everything in detail I highly recommend Russo Electric

While trying to install a light fixture on the outside of the house, the wire broke off inside of the brick. We used Angie's list to select a contractor for assistance. We called Russo Electric on Thursday and he called back with a few hours. We explained the problem and he said he could come on Monday ( we are home this day ) after 12:00 to make an assessment. He called Monday morning to confirm the appointment and arrived as promised. He was able to repair the wiring and installed the fixture. Mr. Russo was prompt, pleasant, and professional. We would definately use him again and would recommend him.

I called Steve yesterday and left him a voice mail about what I needed done at my house. He called me about 8 am today informing me that his guys were in the area today they just had to install a ceiling fan before they could check out my job. John showed up at my house at 1015 am and told my wife it would be done in less than an hour. (I already had bought the lights from home depot earlier in the week) He told her it would cost 250$ . Needless to say that with in 45 min the wires were changed, the lights were installed and siliconed closed to keep out moisture. He then showed her how to set the sensors, the timer and how to make them just regular lights. John and his partner were very professional and would recommend to anyone in the area!

I called Russo Electric to get an estimate for running dedicated circuits up to air conditioners in each of my 3 upstairs bedrooms. Steve Russo called me back right away and scheduled a time to come over to look at what needed to be done. I was glad he came over, because he saw that since one of the A/C units was small it did not need its own line. Just running 2 lines instead of 3 saved me some money and showed me his honesty. We agreed on a price and he was able to change the time of another job to fit me in on a day that I needed. On the day of the job, he arrived on time with two of his workers, explained to them what needed to be done, suggested where the new outlets should be placed and they proceeded to do the work in a most professional manner. Upon completion, they cleaned up the work areas, checked their work, and left behind a very satisfied customer. I would definitely use Russo Electric again, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work in their home.

I cannot say enough about how awesome these guys are! Called on Monday to see if someone could come out Saturday. When I spoke to Ralph, he said Saturdays were hard, but when I mentioned that otherwise I'd have to keep my daughter home from school, he told me "That's not good, we'll come Saturday." I had six light fixtures changed in my house and I knew that one (a dining room chandelier) was going to be a problem. Miguel, who did the work, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He fixed the wiring problem and had the new light installed in no time. Everything was done quickly and professionally, and I will never allow anyone I know to use another electrician!

John and Alex were excellent! They worked for 7 hours straight, and patched up the holes they had to put in the ceiling and walls. They took care to do it best they could, and cleaned everything up, even offering to vacuum. Russo Electric was very responsive to my calls and inquires, very punctual and professional from before the estimate to the completion of work! We live in a co-op that requires proof of license and insurance for anyone doing work. Steve was able to obtain this information within 2 business days and sent everything and more over as soon as he obtained it. We feel their price was very fair for all the work that needed to be done. I HIGHLY recommend them!
Description of Work: EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! We called several electricians for an estimate. Two of them gave estimates over $2000 over the phone, without actually assessing the work that needed to be done. Steve came within days of our phone conversation to assess, and gave a very fair estimate. We live in a pre-war building, that needed what I would consider to be extensive electrical work in the new kitchen. They needed to run two lines from the circuit box in the living room, through a ceiling that had beams running the wrong way, add outlets for several appliances, and change old non-grounded outlets.. I was also considering bringing power to the other side of the kitchen that had a cement wall. Steve was honest and said not to do it because of the work and price involved. I appreciate how he did not try to take advantage and encourage me to do something that would have cost much more, and caused more damage to the ceiling.

My husband and I just bought an older home (1955) with an old Federal Pacific electrical panel that needed to be upgraded. Steve was able to fit us in for an estimate rather promptly. He filed paper work with ConEd right away upgraded the panel within 3 weeks of the original estimate. I am not very experienced with this type of work and the price seemed a little high to me. But Steve's service was very good and we are having him come back to upgrade a faulty panel for our washer and dryer which he has estimated will cost another $1000.

The work was perform fine with much labor and I think the price was high for what they did.
Description of Work: On or about July 2012, Russo Electric came to my house to replace/repair the pull chain on a light fixture. ( the pull chain was very hard to pull down and broke off) For $100.00 Mr Russo replaced the light fixture with the same type light fixture. I had Mr Russo look at other electrical issues around the house that I had concerns about, but he explained that it was not worth the repair. In any case I thought he just did not want the work. I paid Mr Russo the $100.00, and he left. later that afternoon I tried to use the new replaced light and pulled the light chain - it did not work-same problem very differcult to pull down to shut or put light on, (I began to think that maybe Mr. Russo did not in fact replace anything) In any case, I had to call Russo Electric again, they came within 2 hours and replaced with another pull chain light fixture. The job was performed ok, and the light is still working fine today, I think the overall job was a bit pricey and the inconvenence of calling, pleaing for them to come again to do the same job over, and the whole ordeal! well, I do not plan to use them again nor do I recommend them.

He gave us some good recommendations about the electricity that could cause a problem down the road which did change the price. He was very thorough and was kind enough to work around our schedule. Last week I called him because the AC in the front of my house was not working. He offered to come out and also explained that some switches could be attached to a light switch and that was the problem. In doing this he saved me money, rather than him coming out to just flip a switch. I would recommend him without question.

Overall, I found Mr. Russo to be pleasant, approachable and willing to work with my distance and my conditions for payment. It is difficult to enlist the assistance of contractors when I am in another state and hope that they will perform their work proficiently, and clean up after themselves and be prompt all of which Mr. Russo performed with no issues. The price was alittle steep, but I was up against a timeframe and it was difficult to coordinate and schedule inspections and interviews of different contractors for the job,
Description of Work: I contacted Mr, Russo regarding the placement/installation of Circuit Breakers to replace fuses in the home located in Queens NY. Mr, Russo responded very promptly. I explained that I live in another city, but have just acquired my mother's home in Jamacia Queens and to get home owners insurance, i will need to convert the home to Circuilt Breakers. Since Mr. Russo had to first submit requests for a permit and license, I coordinated with a neighbor to be available to provide access to the home for the initial inspection and to perform the work. Mr. Russo identified that he would need to enlarge a wall to get access to the lines and cut into my wall before we discussed/confirmed that he had the job. He explained that I would need to have someone come in such as a handyman to put in a bi-fold door over the circuit access going forward. Mr. Russo agreed to allow me to make 3 payments. One payment allowed me to receive a letter from Mr. Russo that i could submit to my Insurance Carrier to show that I was insurable since I was having the work performed. The second payment was received when he finished the installation and the 3 payment will be when I arrive in NY on the 23rd and we perform a walk-thru to ensure that I was pleased with the work. To date, Con Ed nor the City inspectors have reviewed or approved of the work. So I have received notification today from my neighbor that he had spoken to Mr. Russo and both inspections are to take place Tues and Thursday respectively. So when I arrive on Saturday, I will contact Mr. Russo and we will schedule a walk thru and final payment next week.
