Description of Work: Cleaned our fireplace insert stove chimney. Also prepared a quotation to replace some sections of stove pipe for a second wood burning stove. The charge for cleaning the first chimney was reasonable and the quality of the work was excellent. |I was billed for the service of preparing a quotation for additional work, which I felt was inappropriate and not within normal business practices.. |

Description of Work: We have dad a stubborn, recurring leak around the chimney for decades. A number of contractors have worked on it. They worked with flashing, adjacent ridge vent, etc. They seemed to work but the leak recurred. | |A few years ago we got 2 estimates from chimney contractors. Chimney Solutions (Vestal) recommended rebuilding it, Clean Sweep (Winsor) recommended recaping, pointing, and treating with a sealer for a third of the the other estimate. I chose them. It seemed to work for a year or so but then recurred. | |They came out and used a hose to locate the leak. It was improper flashing at the shingle edge. They applied sealer. I again repaired out diningroom ceiling and am keeping my fingers crossed. | |In retrospect, rebuilding the chimney might have worked if they installed all new flashing but not if they used the original flashing that "looked like it" was properly in place under the shingles. | |I am sorry but I believe I may have confused the contractor's names in a prior report, an exposure in your reporting process.

+ -1 moreThey were great. The woman on the phone was personable, friendly, and most helpful. Our source of heat comes from a wood furnace, and there was a blockage. She helped us as much as possible, and even showed up unexpectedly to try to help out. They came back punctually, did the work promptly, and gave us good information about what was needed to be done in the spring. We will definitely used them from now on.

+ 1 moreI have to admit that it did take several weeks for the company to come to do the work after giving me the estimate. However, I was continually told when I called that they were very booked up with work; and that I would be called when the work was to be done. When the company finally came to do the work, they were prompt and completed the work to be done in one day. They were very neat and cleaned up any debris that fell from the roof during the process. I am very pleased with the finished work, and would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Removed loose surface on outside of chimney. Applied Surewall surface coating to outside of chimney. Installed concrete crown and stainless steel flue cap to top of chimney. Installed seal flashing around chimney base.

Description of Work: They came an gave us an estimate and didn't try t screw us because we were women. My husband had just passed away in August and I was still trying to deal with that. They were very kind and understanding. They did an excellent job and called back to make sure everything was working well.

+ -1 moreClean Sweep was terrific, they seem to be a very organized shop. I needed a chimney cleaned out in a property I just bought, and they were punctual and first thing in the morning (they only clean chimneys on Mondays and Fridays, FYI). The two guys were here for about an hour, everything looked good, and now I can sit by my fireplace and drink scotch all winter long. Thanks Clean Sweep!

+ 2 moreHad a leak damaging the diningroom ceiling. My inspection found badly deteiorating maconary. First estimate was to rebuild and replace bricks and tile. Second estimate felt it could be easily repaired. Cost was a third of another estimate that required rebuild and replacement Work looked good. Roof inspection found only one small spot that I asked for a touchup but it was not significant relative the job. Office contacts were pleasant and responsive. .
Description of Work: Repair decayed , leaking brickwork on chimney and front steps. Repaired broken, split , odd size bricks. Cleaned chimney. Coated cracked caps on two chimneys.
