I give them average reviews, I guess. They did great job, available when I needed them, the price was comparable to everybody else. I had documentation at the end, pictures and everything. They did a nice job. I don't have a house yet so we are going to find out next year, that might change my opinion. It is hard to say.

Good for anyone doing their homework before choosing a property inspector, we did not, and now we re paying for it, literally. These inspectors (there were 2 of them) arrived on time, were polite enough, and explained everything that they were looking for as they were doing it. They spent a considerable amount of time on the roof of our home, but I m quite unsure of what they were doing up there exactly. The final inspection report listed the condition of the roof as average, with no mention of areas for concern. One inspector explained that average would be the highest rating he could give in his report, but verbally described the roof as in great shape. Imagine our surprise when water began spilling into our new home from the ceiling, 3 short weeks after we closed on it! The roofer we hired to fix the leaks blamed obvious exposed nails, crooked shingles, absence of both caulk and flashing where it should have been in place and visible, and at least 30 places that our roof could be leaking from. In my opinion, all of this should have been visible to a competent home inspector. So, since we were misled, and purchased a home that needed a new roof, we are on the hook for almost $10K in repairs, and have only lived in the house 6 months. After reinspecting our shoddy roof and checking out our new mold problem, Specsure has responded to our complaint, not by apologizing, but by reiterating to us that they are not responsible for any of this. When asked about insurance to cover their giant mistake, they informed us that they did not have insurance (we have that statement on video), and this is after they were up on our roof walking around! What if someone had fallen, then we're being sued on top of all of the other grief? They did offer to refund the cost of the inspection (they did not make any admission of wrong-doing); we figured their offer of refund, although not stated, to be around $325, since we also had a $185 radon test and received a $45 discount based on that additional purchase. Unfortunately, this does not make a dent in the problem this crappy inspection has caused us. The estimated cost to replace the roof is $8600, the damage to the inside of our home was estimated at $926, and the amount we paid for the temporary roof repair, just caulk to stop the water from coming in was $300- that's $9826 that we are out because of this company's negligence.

Alan was punctual, friendly and thorough. He was happy to educate and seemed knowledgeable about older homes. Final report (about 42 pages) generated on the premises; he called later with the results of the radon testing. Price was average/comparable. My only critique is that the final report is a little difficult to read and couched with disclaimers and 'CYA' statements, but I'm guessing that this is par for the course.

Allen was parked out front when I arrived, ready to get to work. This was the second time in three weeks I hired specture and my second interaction with Allen. Allen was thorough where it counts. He spent time looking at the roof, grading, attic and crawl spaces, and most of all, the basement. And while a home inspection company will not tell you to buy or walk away, the pros will give you sufficient information to make a decision. It was a pleasure working with this company. I received a discount because I was a returning customer. The inspection is generally priced a bit higher.

I've owned several houses through the years, and therefore have dealt with many home inspectors. Larry and his crew are top notch. I cannot recommend SpecSure highly enough.

Overall excellent experience. I live out of area and they were very accommodating. I needed a company that did home inspections and radon testings on the weekends and in short notice. They were able to schedule in less then a week. They placed the radon detector ahead of time and were able to give me a reading on the day of the inspection. The actual radon report came with inspection report later. The inspector was prompt and professional. I followed him through out his inspections. The actual inspection took about 4 hours. He did the outside and then added his notes, he repeated this for the first floor, second, and basement. If I wanted he could of given me the report then. I had report emailed and a hard copy mailed. I found the report to be very inclusive of all that was wrong, all that needed to be addressed immediately and those issues that would need to be addressed.

It is a very well organization. They do a decent job and I recommend them to my clients.
