Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

Description of Work: The cost listed reflects the cost of 2 calls. I first used Sila per tha Angie's list deal for the $59 heating system tune-up. The technician was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. He noticed that the system was turning off and traced the problem to a faulty toggle switch which an electrician would be needed to fix. For that diagnosis, which consisted of him turning the switch on and off and placing a device on it that showed that it was defective but not repairing it, I paid an additional $149. The technician turned the system off. He also suggested we get a comfort advisor to evaluate our home and, as our system is old, suggested that we consider financing a new one. i got an electrician 2 weeks later, during which time I went without heat. The electrician repaired the toggle switch and we turned the system back on. That evening, the system started making a strange noise. It took a day or 2 for us to realize it was coming from the furnace. When we did, we called Sila back to look at the system. Sila said that if the call concerned anything that had been part of the original call, |There would be no charge but if something new needed to be done, there would be a charge. They also again suggested the comfort advisors, who, |It was my understanding are sales people who evaluate your home and make suggestions as to how you can upgrade your system. I asked for the technician.That technician took all of 2 minutes to tell us it was the pump. He said that the age of the system meant he could not repair it for less than $1656+tax. He oiled it again but that was all he could do. Even though the receipt of our previous work said that the pump had been oiled, I was charged $160.02 for them to tell me that the pump did not work, that I should get a new one, |and re-oil the pump. I felt that the call should have been covered and called Sila to discuss. They spent the call trying to sell me a new machine. I am having a plumber repair the pump and feel that Sila was more interested in selling than maintenance or repair.

Description of Work: Serviced gas furnace |Did thorough job cleaning but of course found problem which required additional fee. Although never had problem before with the furnace. Turned it on when first started getting cold did not work so called them again- they were very prompt and came right away seemed like it needed a new part. |Total of 2 additional visits; now working fine. They were very professional and came right away when we called again but don't know if trying to make extra $$ by trying to sell additional services.
