Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

We called several companies so that we could get quotes. We only were able to get call backs from two companies and Sila was one of them and they were the only company to give us a quote so it is hard to judge whether the price was fair. They ran tubing through the walls which negated the necessity of ripping out walls. The job was completed in 3 days and the workers were very polite and efficient as well as neat. We haven't had a chance to use the ac yet but they did come back once the electrician connected the unit and gave it a trial run and gave instructions on the operation.

We have had other contractors and subcontractors come in and quote us for the cost of installing central air. And, this is where Sila started to impress both of us. See, our original team of contractors and subcontractors had the AC people come and give us a quote. They stayed for 15 minutes and gave us a number. Bryan Smith of Sila stayed for about 2 hours.Two. Hours. This was not a typical house assessment. He actually asked us questions on what we wanted and what we wanted to achieve. He measured everything. He took into consideration our future plans at that point for the house renovation. He actually seemed like he gave a d***. On top of that, he explained that he would be our point of contact, and we could always call Sila for any issues. That was a huge selling point for me. Why? Because I don?t want to deal with multiple people to handle 1 project. I want a project manager. I want less people to manage the house. I want essentially what I am to my bosses. 1 person to bother for EVERYTHING. But, let me be upfront. Sila is not the cheapest company. But, they immediately started to show their quality. If you know me, you know that I have no problem on spending a little bit more for quality and service. And, Bryan was bringing his A game to this consultation? not that we are difficult people. I think we?re quite laid back, and it was great that Bryan was friendly and knowledgeable as well. Bryan gave us a rough estimate quote for us to think about until he e-mailed us with the official quote and off on his merry way he went.After Bryan left, Carl and I looked at each other and knew that we were going to hire Sila. We pulled up the numbers from what our contractor gave us. Sila was quoting us a better brand, units, and system than what our original contractor gave us? and was still in line with those numbers. So, what?s not to love about Sila? I get better service and a better quality system and financing for slightly more than what our contractor was quoting us? Done! And, it could be done before the first heat wave and before we move in? Even better. Over the next few days, we went over the quote with Bryan, signed the financing paperwork, and gave him access to the house, so he could start planning out the system. He told us that he would be marking the walls where the vents and thermostats would go and to let him know if we had questions. He took two full days to finish marking up the house. We gave him the approval, and the installation started. This was going to be a two-zone system. Equipment in the attic and equipment in the basement.All in all, the installation of the system went very well. Bryan even took the time to really think about the placement of the system in the basement would be so that it would not get in the way of anything. Honestly, that means a lot to me. More than I know how to express right now. Even the team that Bryan had working on our house was very professional and friendly. I can only hope that our relationships with other contractors go just as well. As for our heating system, in December, one of our baseboard heaters was leaking. Since I knew how professional and quick Sila could be and that they knew our system, they came and quoted us to either fix/replace the baseboard for one room to the tune of $6,500 or upgrade the entire floor to forced air to $7,000. Perfect. I wanted to get rid of the baseboards anyway. Sila did the work, cleaned up, and was just as professional and amazing as when they did our AC. Thank you, Bryan and Sila, for our wonderful central AC system and heating system.

It didn't go well at all, and I'd never use them again. They charged me much more than I anticipated, and they never refunded me a portion of the final bill as promised.

Everyone involved was professional, courteous, thorough, punctual. Workmen prepared and cleaned up well. Bryan Smith, the sales rep, was professional and attentive to detail. (Note: We won't get to actually experience the performance of the air conditioning system until the weather gets warm enough, as we had it installed in the off season! We had not realized this was even possible until we experienced a Sila system in a neighbor's house at a friend's house last summer, which was what inspired us to use Sila.)

We are very pleased with the work performed by Sila. From our initial conversations with Bryan Smith and throughout all the subsequent stages of our project it was clear we were in good hands. We had many considerations to take into account and Bryan helped us navigate them without ever pushing us one way or the other, we always felt we had as much control as we wanted. The least you should expect is a job well done, Sila certainly check that box. The difference is how prepared a company is to do that extra bit, how they deal with the unknowns as they present themselves, what's defined as great customer service, Sila check that box too. We have an old 50's farmhouse that will need rough spots ironed out in the years to come and we will call on Sila again to help us do so.

We knew going in that air-conditioning a 100-year-old, 4,900-sq. ft. house would be neither easy nor cheap, but we had a good recommendation from a friend and went ahead and called SILA. The supervising engineer, Bryan Smith was courteous and thorough--in his initial inspection, his presentation of options and in overseeing the actual installation. In the end, when we voiced concerns about the amount of noise the high-velocity vents were making, he sent a team back in to adjust them, bringing the noise level down to an acceptable level. The men working on the job were all respectful of the house and uncomplaining, though they were doing hard physical work in mid-summer temperatures.

Desperate for lack of heat - came same day as promised. Repairman (Dennis) - very knowledgeable and polite - explained what the issue was and corrected problem. Offered good advice going forward.

The engineers arrived within the allotted time frame. They were polite but got straight on with the job and sorted the problem out within 15 minutes. Friendly guys.

Sila team has always been on time, neat in appearance and while working. Personable, detailed, and knowledgeable.

Sila arrived on time and diagnosed and solved the problem. Wall register was clogged and sealed shut.

It went fine. I remember he came when he was supposed to. He did what he had to do. The only thing that I didn't like was I keep getting emails from them.

I contacted them via a message through Angies list and they got back to me quickly - even on the weekend via email. Unfortunately the first question they asked that made this fall through is that they do not work in co-op buildings but only stand alone residences.

Dennis was polite, informative & very neat. The office called to let me know he was delayed in traffic and would be late-he was there within 30 minutes of the originally scheduled time. This was no problem for me. He explained the issues he found & the appropriate repairs & gave me the opportunity to agree to the cost before performing the work. We paid a $99 service call fee (disclosed by the employee I scheduled the appointment with over the phone) plus parts and labor of an additional $333. We had an Angie's List coupon for $30 off a visit, so we paid $403. They need to come back out & replace the nozzle, as the one he had on his vehicle was not the exact replacement part. The return visit will be no-charge. I would have this firm come out & perform annual service on our furnace. I would recommend to friends and neighbors.

The high velocity air uses narrow tubes which fit in the walls to distribute air rather than large duct work. I was amazed at how Sila was able to provide A/C to all our rooms without having to tear out walls This was a large, complicated job and we were highly impressed with the professionalism, responsiveness, and efficiency which the Sila team worked. Every day of the job, the team showed up precisely on time and all of the guys knew what they were doing and got it done. Bryan Smith, our project manager, was exceptionally easy to worked with. He listened and responded to all of our suggestions or concerns, was on sight most of the time, and followed up on all our questions. We are happy with the capabilities of the system. In addition to A/C we chose electrostatic air filtering and the heat pump options. This cleans the air in a dusty old house year round and kicks in to replace our oil heat when the outside temp is above 40 deg. which saves about 30% on our heating cost during those times. We had talked to a few high velocity A/C vendors over the last couple of years before deciding to go ahead. Sila was price competitive, does by far the largest number of these kinds of installations is our area and presented themselves as the most professional when we asked them for a proposal.

The installation of the unit went well. Their electrician never showed up, so we had to schedule another day to complete the installation. I had to make several calls in order to set up another date. They are not great on returning calls. The technician that came to finalize the installation was great. He was very professional and seemed to be very knowledgeable. Their customer service is not too good. I had to take two days off of work for this project, that should have been done in one day. There has been no follow up call to see how the unit is working nor did they compensate me for all my inconvenience.

We scheduled routine annual preventative service. The service tech was prompt, personable, and thorough. He discovered failure of water feeder valve (which feeds to system over pressure condition). A timely service call has been scheduled!

I called about 7 places all whom said they were to busy or had answering services that said would call back only to find out they couldn't come. When I called Sila they gave me a two hour window, tech showed up within the window, put on booties not to track dirt in and out of the house and was very professional. Noel looked the system over diagnosed the issue and explained everything to me thoroughly and got us back up and running.

Sila immediately responded to a Saturday morning call. But most importantly, the helpful technician Eric actually tried to diagnose and help me fix the problem over the phone to save the cost of a expensive weekend visit. I was so shocked that a company would actually try to save me money! When it was obvious that it wasn't an quick fix, he showed up exactly when he said he would. I was very pleased with the response and level of professionalism.

I bought a service contract which covers my heating system (two units) and a pipe that had to be installed to keep leaves from entering a heating pipe.? The contact also covers emergency visits.? I've used this company for 4 years since I bought my current house and find them very reliable.
