Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

I would never use this company again. The technician identified that the circulation pump was not working for the first floor zone and replaced it. However, we later discovered 2 things that were troubling: (1) soon after the service call we found the furnace cover lying on the ground -- upon closer examination we realized it had been torn away from the frame that pops onto the mount (the plastic rivets were all snapped off). No one had been in the room since the repair and it was not broken previously (relatively new 4 year old furnace) .... I understand accidents happen but just tell me you broke it and don't prop it up and leave; (2) we paid $800 for the repair - 6 weeks later another identical pump was replaced for the second floor zone (during a snow storm) for $421 - half the price. I wrote the company about my experience and never heard back, no call, no letter, nothing. I would not use them again.

The $75.00 was for a system check up that I had used in the past. Everything went well. Very professional and I don't have any complaints. There was a flue they quoted me on but didn't need it.

This service turned out well. Scheduling was easy with them.

I do not have have a furnace, I have a boiler, and this service does not apply to me for this price.

Too expensive for the service provided

He was on time and asked all the right questions. Did a super job, left no mess and charged reasonable price.

I paid $500 for an annual contract to cover the cost if there were any emergencies. I didnt happen to have any this year so it wasnt such a great deal but it's just like any other insurance- if you dont get it then you need it! I am not sure I'll do the annual service contract in 2015 or not but I would call them for any needed repairs.

Outstanding process all the way around. Slightly more expensive than other bids I looked at, but an overall feeling of comfort that they had the knowledge to do the job right. Properly measured radiators in the house, evaluated sizing, and I believe sold me the right equipment. Very pleased with the whole job.

When I returned home from work some hours after the technician had come by to get the system running, I opened my front door to an 85f house with two panting animals who were slowly baking to death. I called the company's emergency number and Dennis - not the technican who originally visited-was kind and responsive. He helped me get the unit switched off and scheduled a visit the next day. However, soon after he left, the pressure gauge starting rising dangerously again and our heating system began to overheat. It being Saturday, I was told an appointment would be made on Monday. I will be requesting a) a refund of my payment from this company for their service call that caused this problem b) replacement of our fuel that was burned due to their technican's negligence. If anything had happened to our pets....

Noel, the a/c service tech arrived on time and spent about and an hour servicing my upstairs and downstairs inits. We discussed the purchase of a service contract and after considering + and - I decided to. He was polite and knowledgeable.

Furnace maintenance. Denis was very professional and o time and answered all questions. Explained in detail everything that was dine for service. We will be using this service again.

Worked with Ben on the quotes. Very thorough and knowledgeable and was willing to work with me on my many, many questions. Ultimately decided to go with another vendor, but would not hesitate to reach out to Sila in the future.

He was right on time and after asking a few questions immediately knew what to check. He found the problem very quickly and also double checked to make sure there was nothing still wrong. Excellent service – reasonably priced.

Dennis A. was my tech on both visits. Given the extent of the clean up, there was a $500 charge for the thorough cleaning, beyond the basic tuneup. Because of the upcoming heating season and my Mom's frail health, I decided to go ahead. Dennis, before he began a major section, clearly explained the issues he saw and where he was going to focus his efforts. I really appreciated learning about the equipment worked, the critical spots which had been neglected, and his plans to remediate the problems. The last time I saw a workman deal with the kinds of deposits, partially burned residues and fine particles Dennis ran into was in an underground mine. He kept running into problems, kept me apprised, and kept working through them. The reason I chose Sila was because of their high ratings and because they installed Weill-McClain furnaces, the kind we had. However, nothing could have prepared a tech for the level of years of residue that he encountered. At the end of a full day's work, he cleaned up the work area. Took out the residues in a garbage bag, explained some insulation and gaskets that should be replaced to avoid future catastrophes, and even checked a radiator in my mother's room to make sure that it would generate enough heat without needing to have air bled out. I intend to use Sila for the follow up work, and likely for the future annual tune ups. Trust, confidence, and product knowledge at a fair price are what I look for. Getting a tech like Dennis who put everything into getting a very difficult job done on time, solo, is something I really appreciated. I will ask for him to do my work whenever he is available.

The service man was professional and polite and shared his expertise to help us. We are renting so the overall system update is not up to us, but Sila gave us the advice we needed.

We were told we needed a new air handler for our Central Air System for approx $3,500+. We wanted to get a second opinion, and called Sila. From the start they were extremely professional, and told us that the quote we had was more than reasonable. After speaking with him further about the issue, he offered to come out and evaluate the problem. The technician that came said he had more than 25 years of experience with Air Conditioner units. He was obviously passionate about them. He did not understand how the diagnosed leak could be causing our issue. After thoroughly investigating, he tightened a fixture and we have not had any issues since. He saved us over $3,500!

Great Job. Everything from the first visit, quote, installation to the permitting went great. SILA people were always easy to contact and kept me abreast of their plans.

They had to come back a second time but did an overall good job.

I called 5 air conditioner contractors for pricing and recommendations . The were the only company that actually measured and calculated the BTU load and measured each room and the windows. the installed a 3ton unit and 2 split units in kitchen and family room. The other contractors just made up the numbers and requirements. very well organized very very good installation. We have a 230 year old home and they were great. Very well designed and executed system.

Under their previous name Unique - they installed an air conditioner that was over sized and shut down too fast and did not lower the humidity sufficiently. It was also too large for the space and all other companies refused to service the unit. When service was requested under the new name they arrived without the proper sized filter and had to return. They did do a final service, but this did not improve performance. Not surprised when I saw that they had changed their name. Mary Fabry
