They did an extraordinary job. They may be premium priced but the quality is well worth it.

We requested Sila to do a diagnostic on our upstairs AC which was dripping water on the secondary drain pan. The technician who worked on this was Steve. I thought he was quite comprehensive and patient. It seemed like his goal was to understand and diagnose the issue. We did not have this experience with some other HVAC companies.

After diagnosis the service person offered to swap out the blown part for $400. This is a cylindrical device about the size of a small oil filter that sits on the outside of the compressor. I believe it is a very common problem so they make it easily accessible. It is has 3 plugs and 2 screws and swaps out on 5 minutes or less. The part costs $27 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Genteq-Replacement-Capacitor-97F9833-Round/dp/B008OJWMM8 Other service providers charge you in the neighborhood of $100 for the same part (which I believe is a fair 2x to 3x markup for a stocked delivered part). I had also made a few calls before Sila's arrival because I wanted to confirm what I read in a prior review about Sila's price for freon. The told me on the phone that they charge $290 for the first pound and $90 a pound thereafter confirming the review. I made several calls to check the price of freon at other places- it's about $50 a pound everywhere else- one had 3 pound minimum but no one else charged over $50 a pound. Sila is off the charts compared to their competitors. Because of the prior Angie's list review I had my antenna up. I actually made the decision to pay the discounted Angie's List service call fee of $70 (which he honored without hesitation) and send him away without replacing the the part or doing anything. I then called a different contractor and saved over $250 including the extra service call. The lady on the phone was very nice and professional and so was Steve the service tech. Sila has a right to their business model of overcharging, (some might call it gauging) and we have now have the review tools to keep everybody (who is interested) in check from overcharging and being overcharged. I run surveillance camera's outside my house.

A very professional tech showed me how to operate our central air (first time we have used one) he didn't mind my watching him to learn what is what, he explained everything to me. They will be my first point of call next year.

A very pleasant young man showed up on time. It turns out it was his first day on the job. However, he was quite knowledgeable about heating systems. After inspecting and cleaning the boiler, he suggested several options to upgrade my system which I declined. I just needed my boiler checked and cleaned.

The technician came out and looked at the hot water tank and the A/C unit ( I already purchased the unit myself, just needed the install done). Within 10 minutes, he got all the information he needed for the 2 estimates and said he would get back to me by end of the week with a price. End of the week came by and I did not receive any estimate. I reached out to him the following week by email, about waiting for the estimate. He replied within a couple of hours and said he would have the estimate emailed by the next day. Next day came and still no estimate. It's now been over a month and still haven't received any estimate. Ended up hiring other companies to do the hot water tank and A/C unit install. Don't think i will go back to them for any heating or cooling work needed.

They were great. They took some time to respond. I would use them again.

I had trouble getting a receipt from them. I had to pursue them for a receipt.

Installation was great. They were in and out in a day and left everything spotless and cleaned up. There was no construction debris left behind and the folks that did the install were friendly and professional. They showed up exactly (to the minute) when they said they would. I don't think it could have gone any better...Sadly, except for one more bright spot, it all went downhill from there. The day of the install was too cold for them to properly fire up the new system so they told me that someone would call me the next business day to schedule a visit when it was warmer to check pressures. No one called....ever. I finally called 2 months later to ask about the turn up. (here is the last bright spot) They sent someone out the next day who turned on everything, made whatever adjustments were needed , etc. He was very friendly and very helpful, once again cleaning up after himself. We mentioned that it had been 2 months and we had not gotten an invoice or had any contact with Sila air. He promised to get someone to reach out to us the next day, which he did. We got a call the next day and inside of a week had a paper invoice that said nothing except we owed them $5500 due in 14 days. This was an issue because we were promised financing including 12 months interest free and the invoice did not say what services were performed. Back to the phones we went, and we were promised a detailed invoice and the billing would be taken care of. 2 weeks later I got another paper invoice that said the same thing as the first (nothing) except now I had 7 days to pay. we called again. Again we were promised a detailed invoice in the mail and over email and that the financing would be taken care of. So here we sit, almost 5 months after the AC was installed. Still no detailed invoice. I do see that they finally charged the credit card they opened in my name. I have my doubts that I am getting my 12 months of interest free financing. I had to file my own warranty information with the manufacturer after climbing in the attic and getting the info off the unit myself. I have nothing in writing that says Sila air did any work for me so I am sure if there is a warranty issue I will be screwed. I'll call yet again and ask for my detailed invoice but I am sure I won't get it...though they will promise it. It's unfortunate since the install went so well and we were happy with the price we got. I don't understand how they could do such a good job on the hard part and such a terrible job with taking my money.

use them again.All went well, I was told the tech would arrive between 4pm-7pm, and he arrived at approx. 4:15pm. He was polite , professional and very quick the whole job only took about 30 minutes. I am very pleased with the overall experience and service, I will surely use them again and refer to others.

wholWent fine initially service person- washed the compressor filters, came in an inspected the Air Handler, declared it had lot's of bacteria and mold and should be cleaned ($399 cost) I declined to do that and ended up doing that myself with 3 great products designed specifically for that purpose. Coincidentally 3 days after this service call my Air Handler blower stopped working and the computer module that goes with it which caused the whole A/C to freeze up . Had to be replaced for a cost of $1,100- coincidence possibly...but it had worked great since being put in new for 7 years and suddenly 3 days after the service by Sila it stops working. So, in summary I think it is best to use the people who routinely take care of the system which I am doing going forward...the price is good but I did not get too much done in return and there seemed to be a bit of a "push" to get the expensive cleaning done as well.

Sila is extremely professional, the tech that came to the house was very nice, clean, and knowledgable. He performed the work as promised, and was very friendly while doing so. My only gripe with the company is that their estimates are WAY above all the other companies, so I find it very hard to justify using their company for major projects. I understand that you pay more for good service, but their estimates seem to be a bit over the top. However, as far as the work done, I was very impressed, and will definitely call them again for smaller inquiries.

They arrived on time, were professional, installed the water heater, they worked quickly and in a timely manner. Did not waste anytime. Everything was left clean and in order.

All went great. I got good schedule options in the beginning. Their professional, Mike, arrived on time and was very helpful. He verified everything around my AC and was very courteously answering all my silly questions :) It appeared that everything with my AC was fine so I did not have to pay any single extra $ for the service (the air filter for central unit was included in the price). I will definitively use that company again following years.

Arrived on time. Completed work in a timely manner. Very organized & clean.

The technician, Doug, was very professional and courteous. He explained to me what he'd found, including the fact that my compressor is very worn (and as a result I would not be getting optimal performance from my system). This was the same as what the home inspector had told me when I bought the house a few months ago. I was very pleased that there was no 'hard sell' which is what I might have expected would come with a system check-up for a minimal cost. Instead, I'm sure that SILA hopes that you'll be so impressed with their service that you would go to them for larger jobs. Indeed, I expect I will ask them to return to give me a price for a new system when that time comes.

I used them three times. They did good work and they had fair price. The crew that came out presented himself professionally. He was well-dressed, articulate and very courteous.

Work was done well and my options were explained. No pressure to have additional services performed.

As expected. The technician arrived on time and was polite and professional.

I thought the representative was excellent! He was informative and I would like to use the company for whole house AC unit in the future. This particular unit from the deal did not work in my home so I did not use the deal.

Sila's estimate was one of the best we received. The proposal was clearly laid out and we understood all of the elements going into the job. The installers came on time, finished promptly, explained the new system and cleaned up everything before leaving. Without a doubt, we would hire them again. We can't recommend them highly enough.

Looking at all the positive reviews on Angie's list I went with SILA even though they were more expensive than other contractors I spoke to. They did a decent job at the work itself but the sales guy I interacted with (Steve is his name) was extremely unresponsive and that led to a frustrating experience overall. They finished the job about 3wks ago and I paid in full but they are supposed to secure permits but they wouldn't respond now. I called/texted Steve 2-3 times and he didn't answer. I called up their office and they connected to him and each time he said "I am going to do it now" and nothing! I sent him a long email that this was in breach of the contract and then again no response! I am not even asking for anything extra - only what's in the contract. I am also missing a $600 utility rebate because I can't get these guys to fill out some sections in the form for me. I hope SILA management corrects the situation for me. Update (17-Mar-15): Indeed after this review, Chris McGuire (who is a GM at Sila) called me personally and apologized for the situation. He and Steve then took care of the town permits - they even had to fix a little thing that the inspector pointed out which they did promptly and completed the follow-up inspection successfully. Overall happy with the response and would recommend them.
