The project manager said that he would email me the quotes within three days. It has been about two and a half weeks and I have not received the quotes. I called the project manager's cell last week and left a message. He did not respond. I then called the White Plains office. The person who answered the phone took down all my info and said he'd deliver it to the project manager. I did not hear back. I just left a final message on the project manager's cell. Responsiveness seems like it should be a priority for an A/C company.

Provider was master plumber. Didn't have a plumbing snake because Sila did not replace his broken unit. I have used Sila on 3 occasions and they always arrive 10-15 mins after scheduled appointment time. If they don't start work until 8:00am at the company site, customer should be told this in advance, instead of waiting for someone to come at 8:00am. Sila is a local area provider which is why I use the company. Master plumber determined that both toilet water levels had not been properly set by prior contractor (Jireh Handyman). Master bathroom toilet was down three (3) gallons and the second bathroom toilet was down two and a half gallons (2.5). In addition, master plumber made some minor adjustments to the toilet tank hardware to function more smoothly. I was under the mistaken impression that my purchased deal was for two hours of work, so I asked if he could make sure that both my sink and tub drains were functioning properly. In the past, I had some drainage issues. This is when the master plumber informed me that Sila had not replaced his plumbing snake because his was broken. I found this to be very unprofessional, especially since he was a master plumber. ** I would like to make a suggestion to Angie's List and the companies which provide the services. When the contractor appears on the day of service, please remind the customer of the deal that was purchased, since most customers do not print out the purchased deal. In my case, it was for $200 worth of master plumber work, not 2 hours.

This was a big deal purchase. I didn't like them, I thought they cheated me. They told me I needed a part, which they replaced. Then they told me I needed another part. So they turned on the heat for me and the next morning it conked out. So I called them again. What happened was they came and fiddled around again. the heat has been working ever since. So I thought that they tried to sell me something that I did not need. My heat does work and they were trying to tell me I needed another part. I paid $500 for the first part, which I felt was exorbitant. So I will never call them again. I felt cheated. One person came out to do this job.

The service was good. We did additional work as well while they were there so there was an additional cost. The initial work required a couple of follow-up visits so just getting the job right the first time would have helped.

Good! It took them about 3 weeks before they could come out. That's the only bit about them that I didn't like. Scheduling better and considering weekends could improve my experience. Nothing stood out. The came exactly when they said they would and their professionalism was very good.

I purchased their special offer "$169.00 Maintenance Agreement for your Heating and Cooling Equipment including Tune-Ups" and when I called to schedule my service they told me they couldn't even give me a date for service because they were so backed up. It would be at least 4 weeks! They shouldn't be offering a special that they are unable to perform within a reasonable time period.

Changed the appointment twice and falsely claimed the plumber being sick with strep throat. Plumber upon arrival gave a different reason (ankle pain). He did a good job in his attempt to find the basement leak (it wasn't a leak luckily) but did not fix the toilet leak that he came for. It is still leaking and he even missed the fact that the water is still flowing after closing the pipe. Not sure why I even got the service.

This deal is a total scam. The guy gave me a write up with a list 5 to 6 issues with my system. Everything he gave me was for a whole bunch of unnecessary work. He kept pushing me to get with a specialist to discuss a long list of problems with my unit and gave me estimates that totaled $4000 in work. I just had a follow up appointment from another company who said that there was absolutely no issue with the unit. I guess he took me for a fool. Beware of this deal.
Description of Work: Bought the air conditioning tune up deal. Guy was on time and very professional and spent about an hour checking the system out.

OMG, it is so great to have a bright, new, clean, shiny toilet! This was totally worth it. The new toilet flushes very quietly using little water. The company and the installer were very professional, very pleasant. He wrapped up the old toilet in a drop cloth and carried it out. He cleaned up everything. He was fast and courteous. Very happy to find a good reliable company! Speaking to the woman on the phone at the company was pain-free and no-fuss -- she knew what was going on, had my information about the deal that I purchased, scheduled my appointment, and was very efficient. I've used Sila for the past few years to service an older HVAC system. They were always good. The service people were friendly and thorough. Because of my history with them, I hired them to install a new HVAC system earlier this year. The installation was done on a Saturday which was very convenient but meant that the project manager did not show up on site. The guys showed up for the installation. I was told it would take all day. At around 3pm they were still working yet one of the guys was picked up by a friend and the other guy ended up at my house past 6pm. They did not reinstall a UV light that Sila had sold me less than a year earlier - I was told this would be extra to have someone come back and service. I asked that the humidifier not be hooked back up because it is very difficult to get into the system to keep clean. They did not hook it up but they sent the air through it which was clearly not what I wanted. I was told by the guy who came to service the heating unit that this was very inefficient and they would come back out and fix that for me for another $179. After the unit was installed, they had to come back 5-6 times because the AC stopped working. Because I work during the day, I would only figure out that the AC was not working when I got home and already had a hot house for sleeping. That led to 5-6 sleepless night as well as 5-6 2-4 hour windows to stay home from work to wait for service. Now to be fair, they responded nicely every time and fit me in that very day every time. The problem is I spent $10K on a new system that had to be fixed 5-6 times. There was never any offer of any refund or any free service or anything to compensate me for my time lost because something was not done correctly with the installation. When they finally sent the senior serviceman, he figured out the problem that the fan was only running at half speed in 10 minutes. Now there were other issues along the way - some of which were bad thermostat, and insulation being sucked into the blower but those were items that should have been done better at installationThey called for routine service of the heating unit 2 weeks ago. The guy came out. Thinking back he never checked the thermostat and he didn't change the filter and he didn't check the heat pump outside. I noticed the filter at the time and he said it didn't need to be changed. That should have been a red flag since the filter hadn't been changed in 4 months at that point. Last week, I noticed on a slightly cold day that the heater was struggling to get to 68 degrees in the house. It was 30 degrees outside. That did not seem right. I called Sila about this. They offered to send someone out that day but I figured I could survive 3 days to have someone come out on a better day for my work schedule. This time I insisted that a senior person come out for the service appointment. He did and arrived on time. He was at my house for 1 hour and 45 minutes. He first figured out that the heat pump outside was not turning on at all. That seems like something the guy who came to service the heating unit should have checked. The problem was yet another faulty thermostat (I believe it is the 3rd one of the same brand). Now, he stayed on the problem and really sorted out the issue even after being able to get the outside unit started where some others may have left so I fully appreciated his work. It was just another morning that I had to cancel work to be there for something that should have been figured out two weeks earlier. He now has to come back one more time to install a better thermostat (no charge thankfully) but again, more time. After all the time put into having this unit installed and repeatedly fixed, i would expect a company to offer some sort of rebate, free servicing for a year, an extended warranty (because i do not trust this system at all) for the inconvenience. They have offered absolutely nothing and it really seems like this heating system is a lemon. That's while I will continue to use them for servicing I would not recommend using them for an installation without insisting the project manager stay on sight. I have since had to change the filter of the system only to find out they did not build in enough room to use a proper air filter but only fits the cheap blue filters. As someone with allergies this is a big miss that was something I discussed with them. While I like all the people I have dealt with at Sila, it has been a tough year with the new system and they really should have offered to reinstall because it clearly was not installed correctly.

It has taken a couple of months and a call to Angie's list to gather the courage to share one of the most horrendous contractor visits I have experienced in my time as a home owner. It was beyond belief. The person that showed up from Sila, for a simple vacuuming check of my boiler/furnace, from the moment their representative stepped in my basement he mentioned that he will have to shot me down immediately due to soot condition on my gas furnace. A furnace he had not even seen close. He mentioned that I was at a risk of Carbon Monoxide poising, mentioned, I will need either a new boiler or a cleanup close too a thousand dollars. He will need to suit up in a special suit and perform a special cleaning. He even said sarcastically. "we are going to spend a lot of time together" we will eat lunch together. He kept insisting, while we waited almost an hour for one of his company's colleagues to bring him a CO2 Meter proved, he stated this will be the proof that he will need to shut my heat down. The guy said I could "kick him out of the house" but he will still have to shut me down and I will have to call Con-Edison to restore my service. At that moment, my feeling of helplessness in the face of such callousness, made me very anxious. I was so happy to see him leave my house with only $75.00 dollars spent. I was so relieve when he left, I tried to put the experience away and thanked my lucky stars that my wife and the CO2 meter had saved my day as the readings came well whit in the low and acceptable range. I was truly embarrassed at my politeness amidst the face of such blatant attempts to oversell me. I decided not to even bother with a review as did not want anything to do with this company ever. I even called Angie's List to see if there was a way to alert them, but the resolution was for me to place a review. . What has prompted me to write a review weeks after this experience, is seeing how this company continues to advertise deals in Angie's List and how they continue to have an A rating. A rating I find impossible, so I gathered my confidence in the hope that I can save some people from my horrible experience. It was an unforgettable negative experience. Please be careful.
Description of Work: After using the most pronounced, heavy handed scare tactics I have ever experienced this provider, just vacuumed a little, and I mean a little inside the furnace an burner area.

Anthony arrived on time (actually a few minutes early). He was polite, courteous and efficient. Outdoor faucet was leaking and needed replacement. Anthony did a quick check and said he'd try to fix without having to actually replace anything (adding extra grip to the threads and tightening it up). Didn't work out, so ended up replacing the unit. Worked quickly and neatly. Would recommend.

Sila was very fast in responding to my call. The gentleman came to my house within 40 minutes to give me a quote on a new hot water heater. He was very nice and provided me with a quote on the spot. The quote was a little too high for my budget, but if I ever have an emergency, I would definitely call them again because of their timeliness.

Arrived a little late for scheduled appointment, but other wise was happy with experience.. Polite, professional, wore cloth booties over his shoes to avoid soiling the interior. He explained what he did and showed me the list of maintenance items performed on my gas heating unit. I did not sign up for any annual maintenance plans because they were fairly expensive.

Arrived five minutes late. Technician was polite and professional. Technician wore booties over shoes to prevent soiling interior. Technician was on site for approximately 30 minutes. The only thing that I didn't like (and this has occurred before with this provider) is that at the end of the service, the technician tries to offer a "pressure"/"only offered right now" sale of two maintenance proposals. One includes annual heater and air conditioning maintenance package with free emergency calls and the other is just for annual heater and air conditioning maintenance with 10% off service calls. Both packages were discounted with the price paid for the air conditioning paid to Angie's List. I do not like "pressure sales" because the information provided is brief and really doesn't allow the customer time to consider what he/she is getting into. I prefer to do research before committing to any kind of maintenance plan.

It was fine. There were no issues. They did give a quote for additional services. They turned off a switch for the heating and they forgot to turn it back on. I was wondering why there was no heat. I guess they need to do a double check and make sure all the switches are on. Price was fair.

Sila technician, Dennis was 55 minutes late from a prior job. However he diagnosed out problem immediately and agreed to work late to get our heating back on line. The operations took 4 hours and worked until 8:30 pm. Our systems are working very well -- no noise and heating performance is like new. Description of Work: Boiler was not responding and the the second floor air handlers were making noise. T&P gauge and pressure safety valves were stuck closed. Sila installed new pressure and safety value, new gauge and a new water feeder. Purged air out of system and tested heat operations on 4 zones. Used Prepaid Diagnostics certificate thru Angies List.
