Matthew was professional, not really responsive but would reply to emails in a day, knew his work from what I could tell, did not show competency with Farrow and Ball paint but seems to be experienced with other paint products. I would have definitely hired him if he had not stood me up 6am on the day of starting project. After a detailed walk throughs, a quote that was accepted without any negotiations, agreeing to buy him materials (paint) outside the quote because i was using an expensive product, more than 2 weeks of back and forth of getting the right paperwork for the building (he did not have the EPA certificate at the beginning), and several emails answered, he was to start the work on Monday. He emailed suggesting that he would first come and meet, go over everything again and then bring crew in. I was ok with that, and ready to take couple more days of delay. He came on Monday and we went over my scope once again in very detail, so that nothing comes up as a surprise later as, "you did not tell me about this". He offered to start on Wednesday. He emailed me Wednesday AM that some health issues came up and he cannot start. I had paint worth $2000 waiting at the store to be picked up at 9am, which was paid for. After a chaotic day of organizing to pick up paint and trying to return what i could, I emailed him and he sent out a somewhat rude message - happy to share with if you are interested .... and i wish him all the best with his health. I hope everything is okay with him and his family.

Matt is great to work with, extremely nice, very responsive and was on time. Did a fantastic painting job with attention to detail and kept everything very clean and tidy. Would highly recommend and work with again in the future.

Matt had done similar work about 5 years ago, at my former apartment. I was very happy with all aspects of his work that time, so didn't hesitate to work with him again. He is truly a class act and a skilled professional. As are all of his staff. They arrived on time every day, and kept things tidy throughout. They were also very flexible working their schedule around that of our flooring repair company. I'm a pretty particular person, but that didn't bother Matt at all. A few surprises arose, that took some extra time for Matt and his crew to handle, and they did it without complaint. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Matt, and the apartment looks fantastic.

Owner,Matt Hartmann returned my request for service immediately and we agreed upon date and price. In addition he reconfirmed the date and my choice of colors the day before the appointment. He and his helper showed up on time and worked non-stop until completion. They vacuumed the areas and left my home looking better than when they arrived.

I could not be happier with the final product. The colors and paint look amazing! The molding looks incredible! The stairwell banisters and railings are perfect! The kitchen is perfect! Matt was timely and punctual. He was a huge help with selecting the colors and he provided some very useful feedback in that process. The job was done in a very clean manner. There is absolutely no mess left behind from the painters. The paint job is literally flawless. I would recommend Matt to any friend or family member. He was extremely professional. I have had several people remark that the paint job is perfect! It is literally the best interior paint job that I have ever seen in my life. If you utilize MH Painting Inc. you will not be disappointed. The work that they perform is top notch!

They did an excellent job, I am totally satisfied and they cleaned up after themselves. It was an emergency and they scheduled the next day.

Matt is quite a craftsman of his trade. He is conscientious in his preparation and attention to detail. The finished product reflects his professionalism and skill as a painter. They did a superb job. The walls look incredibly smooth, the paint well done. Not a speck of paint on our floors. House was vacant at the time, so we didn't have to worry about paint splatter. I put $0 for the price because I don't recall the final price. I added in some work as we went along. I got written agreements and estimates for everything, just don't have the checks in front of me right now. They were definitely the least expensive of all the painters we got estimates from.

The work was done effectively by Matthew Hartmann of MH painting and his competent crew. They methodically approached the work keeping me updated on each day's progress. The skim coating process went and all of the walls are smooth including an excellent job on the ceiling and smooth finishes in all of the corners and edges of the walls. The primer and paint application following the skim coating was also of excellent quality. They worked efficiently with good attention to detail. Of note, they provide top quality within an excellent time frame. Since I live in an apartment building they had daily interaction with the building staff. Matthew was quite respectful towards all of them and after the work was done they said that they were impressed with his respectful communications which included checking in, clean up and adhering to building regulations. He submitted all of the required documentation that the building required. Matthew Hartmann is excellent at what he does including top quality work and communciations. He is highly responsible and personable. It now looks like I moved into a new apartment, thank you. I highly recommend MH painting.

They arrived on time. It was done effectively and done in one days time. They were very polite and professional. They were careful not to get paint on my brand new cabinets. They succeeded and I could not be happier. They were also able to match the color in our dining room to the color in our living room which is a continuous wall. I was very impressed since I could not remember what color I had used before. Overall very happy with the work done and would use them again!

The original date for this repair was about a month earlier. But when Matt came with his helpers he found that the area was still wet. Had to get neighbor upstairs to fix AGAIN. The second time it went like clockwork and he finished and left about mid afternoon. Good work done fast and reasonably.

Matthew was fabulous from the start! He came as scheduled to look at the work and was so thorough, professional and just SO NICE and down-to-earth. His quote came in very similarly to another painter's. When he and his crew started the work, he was very meticulous and detailed-oriented (and expected the same of his workers), and showed fast, high quality work. He was also extremely nice and patient with my 10-year-old daughter who could not decide on a paint color for her room! I am extremely pleased with both what he promised to do and what the actual outcome was. I have already called him back to paint my basement (which he was so good at fitting me in during a rainy day in the middle of a big outdoor job he was doing), and he will be coming back for some additional painting and patching needed after some carpentry work was done.

We started working with MH Painting back in July to do the painting of our newly renovated 1920's Victorian home. We had MH start in the bedroom which required a skim coat of the old severely cracked plaster ceiling. When the work was finished, it looked like the ceiling was entirely new and smooth like sheetrock. We were so impressed with the work of MH and his crew that we immediately scheduled for them to return and do the living and dining room a month later. Finally when all of our belongings were in the house, we had them finish off another bedroom and the hallway/stairway. It was a lot of work, but they never let the quality of the work drop as the days went on (we noticed this with our contractor and others who did work on the house). Matthew and Raoul were so pleasant to work with and MH gave great advice on colors and types of paint. His estimate for the work was very fair - especially given the quality and attentiveness to detail. We have no hesitation in recommending MH or using him again for any future projects we may have in our home. We really couldn't be happier and are so glad we chose MH Painting!

Matt was very professional and easy to work with. The job was supposed to start early on Thursday, but he was unable to start until late afternoon as he was finishing up another job. He called on Wednesday to inform us and assured me the work would be completed in the time frame we had agreed upon. He came with two of his colleagues and the job was completed. They were very courteous, neat and did a great job. Matt worked with us as far as pricing and was fair, i.e., he painted a small ceiling area which was not included in the proposal. We were very happy with the job and would recommend him, in fact we discussed two other rooms that need to be painted.

Everything went very well with Matt. He was very polite, professional, and responsive. He did the work himself and completed the work quickly, and did an excellent, high-quality job. I would highly recommend him and work with him again!

It was run by a guy named Matt, and he was very friendly, and a very reasonable person. We felt very much at ease with him, we felt like he was a very honest person. The pricing was very fair, and I think the quality was very good. We thought he did a very good job. He was neat, he was respectful, and he was willing to work with us. I would recommend him. He was very responsive, and easy to use.

From the outset Matthew Hartmann (the MH of MH Painting) was pleasant, positive, and engaged in the job. His proposal was fair, (not the lowest) and his sense of quality and consistency very apparent. All correspondence and work was prompt and timely. Matthew and his crew did a superb job on surfaces that had not been cared for in decades. Now they look better than much new work. We agreed that this job did not warrant or could afford a complete stripping of the wood and a skim coat on the walls. However, the quality of work exceeded my expectations. And I am an architect with almost fifty years experience. I have already recommended Matthew to friends, and will only use him for future work.

Matthew was prompt, neat, and very professional. Although I didn't end up hiring him (my previous painter finally showed up to finish the job), I wish that I had. His estimate was thorough, fair, and detailed. Matthew was very responsive to my questions and concerns, and called me back immediately. I was completely impressed, and will be using MH Painters for any future painting that I need.

He seemed like a good guy, he know what he was doing and his prices were more reasonable than the other I've contacted. I was able to get him on the phone it was fine but when I tried to email him it's kind of like he'd missed it.

Matthew was completely professional and very trustworthy. He was helpful in determining which paint I should use since I was 7 months pregnant and was happy to work around my schedule. Our walls were in pretty bad shape, and while he couldn't sand them down completely, he did a good and speedy job. Would def use him again.

Came in person to inspoect area and give quote. Very reasonable and competitive price. Scheduled job within a week. Completed job in two days. Extremely happy with results. Left no mess whatsoever. Securely protected all open cabinets, open bookshelves, furniture, etc from dust. Could not be happier with overall job. This is third time we have used Matthew. Would highly recommend him.
