Description of Work: I needed a patch job done on a popcorn ceiling. In the beginning things went well and Matt was responsive. I could not do the job right away due to surgery.Matt did speak to me again a month later and said he would do the job. He gave me a couple of dates and we agreed on a price. We e-mailed back and forth. Then nothing Matt stopped responding and I could not reach him by phone or e-mail

Description of Work: Matt and team have done all sorts of great work at our house and we continue to rehire him! He has stripped and repainted window trim, repaired a plaster ceiling, and stained our new fence.

Description of Work: Matt painted several rooms in our home -- five total. He was incredibly professional. He is smart, thoughtful and was able to respond to all of our questions. One of the rooms needed to have the plastering redone and the results look great. The other rooms could have used replastering but we decided that we needed to save a bit on cost and so had him spot spackle and just paint those rooms. He was always very honest about how different approaches (just painting versus the more costly replastering) would yield in terms of results. In the rooms where we opted not to plaster the walls are not perfect but the painting in beautiful and he advised us on colors/finishes that might help diminish the appearance of wall imperfections. He worked at a good pace and I completely trusted him and his brother to be in my home. We struggled with selecting colors -- I was sometimes texting him before 8 am with our final choices before he went to the paint store -- and he was always patient with us. He was not the lowest nor the most expensive quote we received. but seeing the finished product he was worth every penny and I'm glad we went for his bid. We have a few more rooms to do after the new year and I will be calling him back.

Description of Work: Kitchen ceiling had to be replaced due to bubbling. I was very concerned expecting a lot of dust during the process. Job was completed in two days (including painting) without any dust or other mess whatsoever. Everything was covered so that it was not necessary to remove anything from cabinets. Coverings were removed at the end of the first day so that kitchen could be used that evening and reinstalled before beginning work on the second day. It was an absolutely superb job. It couldn't have been better. I would give Matthew the highest possible recommendation. I have had many unpleasant experiences with contractors and workers here in New York so it was a great pleasure to deal with a professional like him.

Description of Work: I called and left messsage requesting an estimate for a one bedroom apartment paint job. They never responded or acknowledged my message

Description of Work: Our one bedroom 700 sq ft pre-war apartment ceilings required scraping and refinishing. Two walls required water damage repair and refinishing. The job required scraping, rebuilding parts of walls, applying a skim coat of plaster throughout, and applying two coats of paint supplied by Mr. Hartmann.

Description of Work: Mr. Hartmann plastered some holes in my ceiling and in one wall. He also painted the ceilings.
