+ 0 moreLike the other reviewer found - I guess the job to replace the faucet was too small. However, he did tell me that he would come to do it and then never showed up. He also didn't come when agreed to for repairing the water pipe - I called again and he came after a few days. He never came to replace the faucet and I had no desire to be chasing after him, so just got someone else.
Description of Work: I was so pleased with the work he did for me in 2009 that I called him again. An outdoor copper water pipe had burst in a few places. After he repaired this, I asked him to come back to replace a faucet.

+ 1 moreHe returned my calls promptly which is a big first step! He did the job, were for the most part quite professional and courteous.I would have liked if they had made more of an effort to clean up after themselves but everything I asked for was completed to my satisfaction. he brought an assistant with him so the work was done much faster than the time he originally said it would take. I am not sure if I could have found someone to do the jobs for less money, it is possible, but I did not shop around.
Description of Work: He and an assistant performed several very small jobs around my apartment - fixing baseboard heaters that were coming off of the wall, filing down a door so it closes properly, filing in holes in doors where nails had been, reattaching a towel hook into a stone tile wall, reinstalling ceiling light fixture.

+ 0 moreNot good. He never did the work -- I guess the job was too "small" for him. I wish he'd told me that and I wouldn't have wasted my time. As it is, the window is still damaged.
Description of Work: I called Mr. Holger about 3 weeks ago because we have an octagon shaped window frame that is rotted and needs to be replaced. I left a message and he called me about an hour later. My husband spoke to him. He was very responsive and we were happy--thinking that if he did a good job on the window frame -we would hire him to do other work as well. He came by to look at the work and said quoted us a price of $150.00 and we agreed-that was a Saturday. He never showed up on the day he was supposed to do the work-- a few days later-a day of the week. When I called him and asked why he didn't show up, he said he forgot and that it was a small job and he would come by later in the week. I wasn't too happy about that but said ok. To this day, he has never shown up and it has been about three weeks. What a waste of time and lack of consideration.

+ 4 moreI couldn't be happier! Mr. Ortega came over to simply recaulk the bathtub, but recommended that we should determine the cause of the problem, which meant putting a hole in the ceiling. I'm very glad this was done - it turned out that the pipes were leaking too! He took care of all aspects of the repair. He has very good people working for him too. His workmanship is impeccable and he did everything in a very prompt and timely manner.
Description of Work: Evaluate and repair water damage to a room ceiling from a bathroom above. Involved bathtub caulking, pipe replacement, ceiling repair and plastering, ceiling painting.

+ 3 moreAll the work was done promptly and neatly. If he couldn't come on a give day, he let us know BEFORE the appointment was to begin. His price was very reasonable and he was willing to work with us in terms of the projects' strategies. I would call him back again most likely for any project outside of a major addition. The quality of the work, especially the tile work, was very good .
Description of Work: Mr. Ortega did a number of projects for us. They included a tile job, a total bathroom makeover and re-decking of our porch. We recommended him to a neighbor for who needed a ground level deck installed.
