A panel of our 8 foot wood fence came down during a storm - the day after we had just closed on the property! There was also damage to the alignment of the gate with the rest of the fence. We called Ruben and he came over the same day to spec out the job. He also pointed out some areas where the fence posts needed to be reinforced to prevent further damage. The crew - two men - arrived the next day and worked for 6 hours straight in the freezing cold, fixing the broken panel, re-attaching it to its posts, re-aligning the gate and surrounding panels, reinforcing the fence posts in about 6-7 places. They didn't have the spring close with them, but Ruben came himself a few days later to install it. We really feel we got more than our money's worth and hopeful we'll get through the winter without any more fence issues. Everyone we dealt with from Colony Fence was extremely courtesy and professional. We would highly recommend Colony Fence to anyone who is looking for a fairly priced, outstanding job.

We were interested in new decorative tops for my fence posts as we wanted to change from our solar lighting tops so I called Ruben and he came over within 45 minutes(!) and in a minute or two, not only had matched them but installed the appropriate decorative post tops and charged a very reasonable rate. Having dealt with countless fence companies in Westchester over the years, I can honestly say Ruben is head and shoulders above the rest and is the best. You'll get an honesty, quality (great attention to detail) and a very fair price for the work. From prior experience I can also vouch for his crew - who are neat, meticulous and do an overall terrific job.

Reuben (owner) came on time and gave an estimate. He provided his services on time and when he promised. The workers worked consistently and neatly.

I really can't say enough good things about my experience with Ruben at Colony Fence. The home that my husband and I recently purchased is mostly fenced in with the exception of an area separating my property with a neighbors. My husband and I have two dogs so we wanted the security of a fully fenced yard. The home we purchased is in need of a lot of different repairs and so we have been working towards getting the bulk of the work done before we make the move from Brooklyn up to Westchester. Because of this we are working on a very tight schedule with only two weeks to get everything finished. When I called Colony Fence for an estimate, Ruben drove by the property the same day and got me an estimate right away. The estimate was very competitively priced and within days he started working. The fence that he installed looks absolutely beautiful. He also repaired two gates by installing new latches, hinges, and gate stoppers. He also fixed a wobbly section of fencing. His work exceeded my expectations and I would absolutely use Colony Fence again and recommend him to any other homeowner.

They responded very quickly to my call and came over soon, gave a reasonable estimate and did the job within a week. it's held up fine since then.

Ruben, the owner, was very polite and helpful. He wrote his estimate on the spot and was able to commence work quickly after being given the green light. They did such a great job that we asked them to replace an incremental line of fencing which we hadn't intended to replace, but it all looked so lovely that the leftover old fence would have been unsightly.

Ruben was quick to respond to our first inquiry even though it was an extremely busy time for him (apparently we weren't the only victims of the storm). His estimate was right on. The crew showed up on time and got to work immediately, despite what can only be described as atrocious weather. The men worked all day in a steady cold rain and some really sloppy conditions. They cleaned up completely and left everything just as they found it. Ruben was pleasant and professional all the way through the process.

Everything about it was excellent. Ruben was more than accomodating. He worked with us to ensure that the fence was exactly as we wanted and returned to make adjustments. His team was prompt and neat. They cleaned up each day. Ruben returned all calls promptly and was a pleasure to deal with. The fences look great and I would not hesitate to recommend Colony Fence. They are a very professional well run company.

They did a great job. Ruben came and gave us a price on a Sat. afternoon and his crew did the work the next Monday!!! They were neat and professional. A great job at a great price. This should have been the company I called two years ago to install the fence originally.

Ruben was prompt in responding to a phone call and after our inital meeting, very responsive over email which was more convenient for me. He came out the weekend after I called and gave us an estimate which was very reasonable (another estimate by phone was much higher). Once we agreed to go with them, they were ready to install the fence in under two weeks. They accomodated our schedule and did the installation on a Saturday. My one minor complaint was that while we expected them between 8:30 and 9:00, but they didn't arrive until 10 a.m. or call to let us know they were running late. Nonetheless, they completed the installation that day, by 5 p.m., and were neat and cleaned up after the work was completed. Additionally, they were installing fence next to a lot of existing bushes and shrubs and were able to install without moving or cutting any of the plants, which we really appreciate. Overall, they did an excellent job and we'd recommend them and use them again.

Ruben was easy to get a hold of to book an appointment to survey the job and submitted an estimate on spot. Within a few days, Ruben and his crew came out and within 60-90 minutes did a LOT of work - all with great attention to detail and superior quality craftsmanship. I'm a stickler for making sure jobs aren't done sloppily and afterwards looked over the entire project meticulously and was stunned how flawless of a job Ruben and his guys did!! They had to use cement and were very clean during the process and afterwards there was zero evidence they were even there let alone any traces of cement. Ruben even fixed other items free of charge - and CLEANED(!!) the fence! The entire PVC white fence looked sparkling new after he was here. Need I say more? It should be noted that Ruben was hands on and oversaw the entire process, which is rare. Most project managers/owners aren't but Ruben was there from the get-go until completion. I thought it was impossible to find a good fence company in Westchester until I discovered Colony Fence. They're a legit 5 star fence company.

Ruben called me on the day I wrote the e-mail to him. He gave us an estimate the same day. He called to say that he had ordered the material and then again two weeks later to say that he could do the work that day. He and his crew showed up before 9am and worked all day until 6pm. My husband asked whether they could reuse the old fencing to build another small fence around an eyesore (A/C unit, pile of bricks, wheelbarrow storage etc.) and the answer was "no problem". The main fence was put in and they did a beautiful job on the extra area at low cost ($300.00 or so). They even managed to avoid most of the daffodils and hostas in their way when installing the main fence! I saw one of the crew raking the area after they had finished to neaten it all up. I would highly recommend Colony Fence to anyone.

Last snow storm knocked down a large tree that then knocked down a large portion of a fence. Mr.Colonia from Colony Fence gave us an estimate and when called to perform the job he did so with courtesy and punctuality. We highly recommend his company.

We are very pleased. I called Ruben to meet me at my house for an estimate - he came when he said he would come and was very pleasant to deal with. Ruben went over all the various pricing options with me so that I could make an informed decision on my new fencing. We decided to use Ruben to replace our fence after we compared his pricing with another company. Ruben had our new fence up within one week with no hassles at all. Ruben kept me informed on when his crew was coming - I never had to call him for an update - he always kept me posted. He was great.

Job went well and the price was right. The estimate on a subsequent job seemed a little high.

We did not use Reuben for our fence job, but it was close. He was very prompt and professional. He came to our home within 48 hours of calling him and drew up a nice plan of the job and handed us the estimate before he left. He offered us what seemed to be the same job for the same price as the other company we chose. I think we picked the other company because they would have to drive fewer miles to come do the job which we feel is better for everyone. I would suggest you call Reuben for a price, I am glad I did.

Reuben showed up the same day I called to make the estimate. He was courteous and described thoroughly about the work needed to be done. He explained the pros and cons of the two options I had; replacing with a new wood fence or replace with PVC fence. The crew showed up 19 days later on Saturday to finish the job in a day. When we pointed out scratches on the gate, Reuben and his crew showed up twice to fix them to our satisfaction. We are very happy with the looks of the PVC fence and the workmanship.

They did a super job. Not only did the fix the entire yard, but they went beyond the usual care. The took it upon themselves to spray over rusted metal frame so that the gate looked good from both sides. Another contractor would have just done the wood sections. The accuracy and calibration of the lock mechanism was perfect. I have never worked with such a conscientious contractor.

Ruben Colonia was very professional and gave a very good estimate. He beat the other bidding fencing companies in price. Then he took another 5% off with the Angie's List coupon without hesitation. He also easily changed the fencing details 3 times in conjunction with recommendations from my homeowner's association. He also had readily available the appropriate paperwork required for permit filing with the town hall. The work was finished completely in 5 days with his workers working long days, always cleaning up after themselves at the end of the day. I highly recommend using him.

Everything was handled very promptly and professionally. I couldn't believe how quickly I received my estimate and the work was completed. Mr. Colonia saved me so much money by suggesting that I could repair my fence instead of replacing it. He gave me a great price compared to 2 other fence companies. The completed fence is beautiful and i have already received complements from the neighbors.

Ruben gave the estimate which while not the lowest was competative. I choose his services based on the feedback on Angie's List. He came out a second time to give me a final estimate as I decided to expand the job a bit and once we agreed on the price I gave him a deposit. He did a good job of setting my expectations, he said it would take two days and be done within 15 days but in fact was completed before that. The first day that his crew came out there were serve thunder storms but they continued to work hard to complete the job. All the crew were professional and the two neighbours that the new fences bordered were also happy with the work done. Since the fence has been completed I have had a number of neighbors give positive feedback. I would be happy to recommend Colony Fence to them or anybody looking to do fence work.

Reuben Colonia arrived for a consultation the SAME day I called - he was considerate, prompt - and I knew immediately that he was as good as his word. He took a moment outside in his truck to prepare an estimat - I felt the estimate was a fair one, and gave him 50% down on the spot. He said that it would be in about two weeks time that the fence would be installed - and he called at the two week mark, and within a day the fence installation was completed. Looks elegant, and I am so pleased with his work.

At Ruben's suggestion, we confirmed an appointment for 10:30 AM for the very next day. On the day of appointment he showed up almost an hour late, without even giving me a courtesy call that he would be delayed. I thought he was not going to show up. When he arrives I tell him exactly what I want in a steel fence, but he was not knowledgeable on how to take measurements nor on the local code. He said he would email me the estimate that night or the next day, but he did not come through on his word. This (potential) paying customer has a no vote of confidence for this contractor.
