Their work was excellent, and they used far more durable methods than the original fence installers. Replaced all fence posts with pressure treated ones, anchored with cement. Theirs was also the lowest estimate that we got - an excellent value!

We called Colony for an estimate to replace a wooden fence because he gate fell down during a storm. Ruben Colonia suggested we repair the gate instead and call when we really ready to replace the entire fence. The gate works better than ever.

Ruben & his crew are precise & on time. He suggested self closing gates to prevent forgetfulness causing dog escape. Also suggested small gauge chainlink, quite elegant looking.

Colony came over on time to give us an estimate. The estimate was the best out of the 3 estimates that we got. They were also able to start work pretty much immediately (within the same week). It took a full day of construction to finish it. So far so good. We have some issues to follow up with them next year. Seeing how the fence will handle Winter.

Every aspect of the job they performed was perfect - from the initial meeting with Ruben to the final execution of the project. It is clear that they are experts in what they do. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing fence work.

Ruben was very professional, he returned my call quickly, came when he said he would,and gave a great price. He walked me thru the job and made some suggestions that were helpful. He managed my expectations in terms of when he could get to the job and how long it would take.His folks showed up on time and walked thru the job with Ruben and I again. They had to get into some tight corners but did-so without damaging anything. They did an excellent job and cleaned everything up. Just an A+ experience.

We've used Colony twice in the last 2 years to repair and strengthen our cedar panel fence. Ruben is a terrific professional to work with, knowledgeable, efficient honest and friendly. Ruben worked with us as we figured out what we wanted. He wrote a detailed estimate on the spot, gave us a time table that he adhered to, and completed the work with two visits to our property.

I hired Colony to move an existing fence to the property line at the rear of the property and to add two new sections of fencing on each side of the fence that they moved. Rueben promptly came to give us an estimate and was able to schedule the work very quickly. His estimate was much more reasonable than another fencing company. His men arrived at the scheduled time and set to work. The work was done very professionally and they cleaned up everything when they were finished. I would highly recommend this company .

The company, headed, by Mr. Ruben Colonia, exceeded every expectation. The storm damage to my outdoor fencing in February and March 2011 couldn't have come at a worse time. As a widow making the difficult decision to sell a much-loved home, the additional financial and emotional stress of another home repair was great. The fencing and outdoor home repairs were vital to my preparation to get my house on the market by late spring/early summer. After contacting the company who originally installed the fence (Walpole Woodworkers) for an estimate, I learned that the cost to replace my custom wood fencing was beyond what I could afford. I needed an alternative. I needed a company that would maintain the elegance and quality look that the house deserved. After an internet search of local fencing companies, I found the Colony Fence Company. Mr. Ruben Colonia responded quickly to my request for an appointment. His expertise, respectful manner, ability to listen to a client's needs, and professional character enabled him to create a design that was a perfect match in quality and price. I was kept informed on every step throughout the construction project. Several times, Mr. Colonia offered small suggestions for accessories or placement of decorative pieces that greatly enhanced the design and look of the project without affecting the price. His crew mirrored his high expectations for service (punctuality, professionalism, keeping a clean work site, and respect). Because Ruben and his staff exceeded all expectations in the timeliness and quality of the fencing project, he became the perfect resource to use to consult on my additional outdoor projects. This ultimately led to my hiring him and his crew to build and repair my slate and brick patios, repair the railroad tie-lined brick walkway, and assemble a long-ignored pergola, whose disassembled pieces lay across a back brick patio. His crew provided cement footings to secure the pergola and assembled what is now the showpiece of the backyard. There are no words to accurately describe the excitement, relief, satisfaction, and gratitude I felt toward the finished projects. What Mr. Colonia and his staff have done is provide a lasting gift to my new homeowners and a treasured memory that I have given a home that I loved the care that it needed.

Called Reuben for a price quote on a cedar post and rail fence. He was able to give me a quote right on the spot over the phone which was great but the cost was much higher than I was expecting. He then followed up with another call providing me with some information on where I could price up the materials needed for doing this job myself. The conversation and effort Reuben demonstrated was professional and great I just wish his services were more economical. Worth a try.

Ruben is very professional and working with him was a pleasure. His pricing was also the best of the estimates we obtained. He installed vinyl picket fencing on a portion of our property on sloped terrain and over a retaining wall. When we got our initial estimate we weren't sure of the exact style we wanted so Ruben sent his crew to our house the following morning with samples so my wife and I could see the fence sections as they would appear next to our house. The installation went smoothly and was completed over 3 days. Following installation the fencing was immediately tested by 50 mph winds during a thunderstorm and was undamaged.

Picket fencing material was aged, primed, and painted before installation. Installation was excellent. Cedar stockade fencing looks especially good. Installers did a wonderful job on sloping ground. Great work. Very pleased.

Excellent. Ruben is a pleasure to deal with. His quote was the most competitive we received. We made adjustments before finally agreeing on what to do and he was very flexible. He was able to show up when we needed him, often with a day's notice. His guys even came on a Sunday morning to finish the last piece (once landscapers were done) as my husband was stressed about leaving the pool exposed.) V highly recommend.

Called to schedule an appointment for an estimate. After he came to look at the job I waited several weeks for an estimate which was sky high. His estimate was nearly twice the price of the other three estimates I received. I tried to contact him with questions about the pricing (assuming there may be a reasonable explanation for the difference such as the type of materials, design, etc) but he did not get back to me. I followed up again in July but never heard back. I'm not sure if he was too busy or just not interested in my business but either way his lack of responsiveness was very disappointing.

Ruben is one of the few contractors you can trust. The reviews on here are accurate. We caused numerous delays and headaches for the guy, but he stayed patient and saw it through and made sure we were happy in the process. The workmanship is great and I feel he will stand by his product should anything happen to the fence in the next two years. Thanks, Ruben, from us all at Cliff.

We got our price quote and picked the style railing we wanted with no issues what so ever. We contacted Reuben of Colony Fence to set up an install date and with in two weeks our railing was installed. We love our railing and enjoy our patio every day.

Initially I was concerned he may not be responsive (emails were not always answered right away), but this was just since he makes a point to answer personally to all inquiries. He was extremely responsive and punctual when they started the job, and delivered beyond expectations. Price was very good, better than other reputable contractors (did not want to go with the ones that did not have good reviews or references).

Ruben gave me a written estimate of the work to be done. We had two 55 foot sections of privacy fence that needed to be installed on each side of our yard along with a gate. They were able to install the fence on our schedule. The crews arrived on time, were very professional, and completed the work in the amount of time that they said it would take. They were very careful to try to not crush existing landscaping while installing the fence. After installing the fence, the entire area was cleaned up. We are very happy with the fence. I highly recommend this company.

Once we committed to installation, it was two weeks before the crew arrived to do the job. Post caps were wrong, but Rubin showed up with the right ones during the install. Crew worked the day and it was up and complete in one working day. Crew very courtious and listened to all my concerns and made sure I was happy with the job. Was hoping that the work would commence earlier then two weeks, but everything was completed to my satisfation.

Colony Fence removed @ 45 feet of damaged chain link fencing, and replaced with new chain link fencing. The job entailed shortening 8' poles to 6'. They also added one post and extended the fence to close a gap between the neighbor's and my yard. It was a straightforward job, and if I recall correctly there were only 2 guys on the job. They were professional, prompt and efficient. I had not met with Ruben (the owner), but spoke with him several times. He explained every detail about the job and returned calls promptly. His daughter actually came to provide an onsite estimate. It's amazing the range of quotes I got for this simple job. Colony Fence came in lower than anyone else from Angie's List. They accept credit cards, and are in some type of billing arrangement with Eastern Fence. I would absolutely recommend them and do business with them again.

They installed 2 wooden fences 3 years ago. Work was good and reasonably priced at that time. I called them back to have the fences restained, now that they were fading. I was assured that they did such work by the person that answered the phone. I was very specific on what the job was. On the day of our appointment for an estimate, they were late. I called and was assured that they would be at my house in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later, I was called and asked what kind of work needed to be done. At that time, I was informed that they did not do painting. Very unprofessional. A real disconnect between the front office and the owner.

They did an excellent job! They installed the fence proper way, and they went above and beyond to clean up and finish the project at hand.

Everyone was very prompt, professional and Ruben could easily be reached at all times. I actually got an estimate more than 6 months before I actually called to have the fence installed. They'd kept a copy of it and immediately could reference it when I called. The installation was quick and looks beautiful! I wish they were contractors who did everything!
