Everything was perfectly executed - Ruben came to the house, we discussed my needs - he even suggested we re-purpose a fence that I was set to demolish. In the end it saved time and money - and the job was done very professionally. This is the second time that I've used Ruben, and I would use him again if there was anything left to fence in!

Of three contractors we got quotes from, Colony was by far the most responsive. They had provided us a written quote before some other contractors even responded to our initial call. Their pricing is very competitive. The time it took from the time we awarded them the job, to the start date of the job was exactly as they said it would be (about 2 weeks), and the job took only one day to complete. The crew arrived in the morning when they said they would, and cleaned up after the job. The fence is beautiful and seems to be a high-quality job. We were extremely pleased with the job that Colony Fence did for us, and we would definitely use them again.

Ruben and his team came 3 days earlier than projected to install our fence. It was a very pleasant surprise! We are very pleased with the work and would definitely recommend this company.

Fantastic! Ruben and Iven came to the house for two estimates and were super helpful. They provided guidance on what could and could not be done and different fence styles. The work was done in the time frame specified and my family is thrilled with the fence. I would most certainly use them again and reccomend them to others. The price was in line with competitors.

saw all these "F" rating in angie list about the guy not showing up / not getting back, but at the same time has tons of good review so thought i would give it a try. can't believe my experience would also fall into the "F" category... the guy replied my email pretty promptly and agreed a time to come by to take a look and give me a quote. he didn't show up. no call / email / text about why he didn't show up or what happened. just feel this is not professional i'll take my business to somewhere else if he doesn't care.

After deciding to fence our property for our dog we solicited several companies for estimates and selected Colony fence for multiple reasons. Ruben came to survey the area and gave us 3 different configurations and several different types of fence options. His price was competitive and his materials were high quality. The day the installation commenced the lead installer impressed us with his versatility in setting up the final design. The terrain on our property is mostly rock making a fence installation very difficult. We were impressed with the installers ability to fabricate the fence on such difficult terrain. What an outstanding team! We are extremely happy with the results and highly recommend Colony Fence.

First class service. Ruben and his team did a perfect job. I needed a couple of the panels moved higher and they did this at no extra cost. I strongly recommend Ruben and his team for fencing.

Ruben was quick to respond to my call and make an appointment. He showed up on time and explained the differences and advantages to the different types of fencing extremely well. He was quick and gave me a quote before he left. Once set up it took about a week and a half for the materials to come in. When he did he called and said he could come as soon as we need. A couple days later his men showed up. They where very careful, clean, and quick. They finished a two day job in one day. They were exceptionally polite and clean when working with my next door neighbor. Most impressive they handled working around not just the normal upper west side parking but a large amount of construction on my block . I was very impressed and would not hesitate use them again or recommend them to others.

He responded to my request right away (the same afternoon) and scheduled an estimate the following day. He even would write the estimate in his car in the same visit (other providers would email their quote a few days after). This is how you run a business! You don't waste the client's time. When he came back to pick up the downpayment, he still spent time to give suggestions about landscaping our backyard. He was in communication with my landscaper to schedule the right time for building the fence so as not to interfere with my landscaping. His people came right on time at 10:00 on Monday (3/24/14) and worked until about 6 pm. They came back on Tues morning to finish the job and left my backyard clean.

I needed to have a vinyl 6 foot privacy fence installed in my back yard. I called Ruben to see if he could come out and provide a price quote. Ruben was very friendly on the phone and courteous on the phone. Ruben arrived on time and was very friendly, polite, and consultative. He walked around my yard and thoroughly explained how he could install the fence and provided some suggestions on how I could gain some extra space in my yard and how to deal with a tree that was on my property line. This was very different from other contractors who came out, looked at my yard, and just provided a price quote. I felt like we were on the same team. Ruben's quote was very competitive. Given the price and the service level I received I decided to go with Colony Fence. The installation went very smoothly. Ruben's guys were very polite, worked hard, and did a high quality job. Along with making sure everything was picked up and cleaned prior to their departure, Ruben's guys went above and beyond and even cut down and cleared away some of the brush I had in my yard (with my approval of course). Ruben followed up during and after the job to ensure I was happy with the installation. I would recommend Ruben / Colony Fence to anyone.

Ruben came to give estimate and was lower than the rest, I got 5. He was polite and professional. They worked with my schedule. All workers were polite and accommodating to my perfectionist desires, they even switched out a couple of pickets that weren't perfect.... with a smile! The job was done quickly. After finishing everything was cleaned up. I will certainly recommend Colony Fence to anyone looking for fence work.

A tree had fallen on our wooden shadowbox fence and took down some of the panels. I needed this to be fixed with the installation of 2 posts, attachment of 7 panels, replacement of caps on the posts and ensure that the gate opens & closes properly. I called Colony Fence and was promptly given a reasonable estimate the next day. The crew was then able to fix the fence that same week which was great! They arrived prompt and were professional. What stood out about their customer service was without me asking them, they fixed my other side gate latch which was a little off and now opens more easily. The entire process was quick and seamless. No issues, no problems....GREAT fence company!

I called Ruben for an estimate because of his reputation here on Angie's List. He arrived the next day with samples and brochures of the different types of fences he installed. My job was not a very easy job for them as I wanted the fence to be on top of a block retaining wall. I originally thought this would not be an issue, but my contractor who installed the wall told me that I shouldn't build on top of it because if a strong gust of wind came it could compromise the wall. I called Ruben about a week before we were scheduled for the fence installation to tell him the situation. He immediately came up with a solution by welding steel posts adjacent to my retaining wall and angling them on top of the wall to give me the look I wanted without disturbing the wall. His crew finished the job in 2 days, one day to do the welding and put the posts in the concrete, and the next day to install the fencing. He sent the guys back 2 days later to paint the exposed steel posts so they wouldn't rust. I would highly recommend Colony Fence to anyone and I will be using them again in the future.

The owner was prompt in his reply to my inquiry call, his estimate was lower than his competitors and the installation was done on time and very well. They took away the old fence and left the yard in great shape.

First, Ruben is a real gentleman and the ultimate professional and they did a flawless job. I would recommend them to anyone. They were not the cheapest but very competitive. A+++ all around.

The guy never got back to me. I called him twice. He said that he's going to come by and give me an estimate, but he never did. He was extremely apologetic the second time. This was over a month ago, and he still has not come by. I was very disappointed because he got straight A's from Angie's List. I think, he was unprofessional.

It went totally smooth. They were cordial, professional and fastidious. The fence looks great. It is well made and the wood is beautiful. I was told how to care for it and what to expect in the future. I couldn't have asked for better service.

Both Ivan (who did the initial survey and estimate) and Ruben (who oversaw the construction) were professional and knowledgeable. We have an extremely challenging back yard which is rocky and not at all level - we added fencing for child safety purposes. It blends beautifully with the landscaping. We also had Colony replace our front picket fence which was destroyed by hurricane Sandy. The replacement fence is more sturdy and quite a bit more attractive than the original. The workers were prompt, unobtrusive and diligent. Highly recommend.

Colony fence is why I use Angie's list. I contacted Ruben and Ivan from Colony fence after having a horrible experience with Colonial Fence in Fairfield. Colonial Fence strung me along for over 2 months waiting for the fence to be installed, when I finally had enough I contacted Ruben and his team to do the job (wish I had contacted him first-didn't because they were located further away from my location). Ivan came and gave me an estimate and answered my questions with no high pressure sales pitch. He gave me the weekend to think about it and we decided to proceed. Best decision I made, within the 3 week time frame the fence was completed and looking great. Ruben said it would take two weeks to get the fencing ordered and received and then within a week it would be up (one day to install). There is a reason this company has 80 plus positive reviews and without question will I be using them again for some additional fencing work. I would highly recommend this company...

Ruben and his crew did an excellent job. Ruben had some creative ideas for how to enclose my backyard without losing all the bushes. For a minor additional fee, his crew also trimmed a bush back for the fence. When there was an additional document needed for the permit, Ruben took care of it directly with the village. They finished the job quickly in 1 day. I would definitely recommend this company.
