Description of Work: certapro painted the entire exterior of our home. they replaced several cracked cedar siding boards and you can't even tell they're 50 years newer than the surrounding boards. they also removed an old analog tv antenna from our roof.

+ -1 moreThey were sloppy and rude. They told me I was too picky. One of the painters dropped paint on wood floors and was not going to clean it up, I had to get a supervisor to do it. They had to come back and do touch-ups and used the wrong the paint. At that point, I just told them to get out of the house.

+ -1 morePainters only prepped what was pointed out to them rather than taking the initiative to perform prep work where needed which resulted in a poor paint job. The painters finished in 3 days and I pointed out issues that still needed to be taken care of. That additional work resulted in another 2 1/2 days of work. The painter was not happy with this and left working areas uncovered, dirty and rushed to get the work done and get out the door; ex: used heat gun to speed dry patching material. Any consideration for keeping areas protected and cleaned up was not taken care of after they initially thought the job was done. I still am finding poor areas of prep which will need to be taken care of by myself or I will need to hire another painter to complete the work satisfactorily. Reached out to owner, left VM and never heard back. I did pay for what was referred to as a "higher level" prep work. Provided CertaPro corporate written and verbal complaint - no response. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
Description of Work: Requested and paid for the "higher level" prep work for painting 2 bedrooms, hallway and stairway.

+ 2 moreOur wood trim needs painting every 6-8 years, and the stucco needs painting every 12-14. The stucco on back of house gets intense sun and can blister after 10+ years. Surface prep is key and they did a very good prep job. Carpentry work to replace two window frames was done well and matched perfectly. Very happy. They weren't the lowest cost bid, but were close enough and the price/value was excellent.

+ -1 moreI was a bit surprised that the person who gave me the quote and who was the owner did not come to talk to us or check on the work, even after it was finished. However, we had Elmer's crew working for us and Elmer did a good job of supervising.Painters came when they said they would. The workers were very nice. They listened to all our suggestions and complaints and immediately worked to correct any problems. They did a good job of cleaning up. They kept communicating with us to make sure we were satisfied.

Description of Work: The painters arrived and while one went to work "skim-coating" the ceiling, the other left to get supplies. The man who remained asked for a ladder. This was my first indication they were less than professional. Since they knew the ceiling was part of the job, they should have brought their own ladder. About 90 minutes later, the other gentleman returned and they continued to work. When they went out for lunch, I took a quick glance and all seemed okay. However, about two hours later, when they said they were done and asked me to sign a form, indicating my satisfaction, I went up and looked more carefully. Most distressing was the ceiling repair, which should have been smooth (true skim-coating results in a flat, even finish). It was (is) not. If the spackle needed more time to dry before painting, I would have gladly paid the additional cost for another day. They didn't say that, though; they just went ahead and painted over the damp spackle, which then became lumpy. Additionally, they dripped blue paint onto the white woodwork. All in all, a thoroughly unsatisfactory job.

Its as simple as that. Use them with full confidence knowing you will get exactly what you need and done exactly to specification.

+ -1 moreI started to paint my kitchen which has plaster walls. Very early into the project I realized this was going to be way more difficult then I was prepared to do. Brad was recommended by several people so I called him. Brad came over a few days later, explained what needed to be done and gave us a very fair price. Brad's crew came over on time, were very neat and respectful of the work place. Before the next weekend the kitchen was painted and my wife was very happy with the results. Brad and his crew did such a great job that we have had them come back to paint 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Once the snow thaws we will have Brad back to do some exterior work. + -1 moreThey were punctual and responsive. It took a while to get the job scheduled because we tried to do the inside and outside work the same day and weather was an issue. The inside work was all fine; I was a little unhappy with the outside job; they did a good job of cleaning the deck but the painting job was just ok. The paint was very thick and tacky and they painted on a day that was damp and the paint never dried right. I did call about the puckering bt no one ever called back.
Description of Work: The company did both interior and exterior painting. Mostly trim work inside adn cleaning and painting of a deck outside.

I think the "deal" was a way to get you locked into their service & then over-charge you for the rest of the job to essentially make up the discount on the first 8hrs. Despite multiple attempts to address this with the company & with Angie's List - neither have been helpful. Based upon my personal expreience, I WOULD NOT - I repeat - WOULD NOT - use this service.

Description of Work: Brad came and gave an estimate for the job. He was extremely polite and helpful and wanted to do a great job. He returned with a representative to talk further about the best materials to use to paint the house. He provided color consultation. He took a couple days to get his bid to me, but was otherwise on top of everything. His price was the second highest of the four vendors I had quote the job. Also, he quoted stain rather than paint although I had asked for a paint quote to get apples and apples. I decided not to use Brad and wrote him exactly why I had chosen another vendor. He wrote back promptly and thanked me for the feedback and said he was always working to improve. I think that I would have been happy with Brad's work if his quote had been in line with the other vendors. I have no question that the quality would have been good. Perhaps it is the franchise with Certapro that impacted the cost.

They showed up on time, did the work in the time frame they specified, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely use them again and in fact, recommended them to my brother and he used them and was also pleased.
Description of Work: Brad and his crew painted our family room, stairwell and office. Brad was very professional - he explained everything that his guys would do from repair/prep work to the actual painting. He had someone come in to advise us on color selections as we were redecorating the whole room. We did one wall as an accent wall and the rest in neutrals.
