Description of Work: Replace rotted exterior wood house trim with new synthetic material.
WE LOVE OUR NEW HOUSE! It is like new construction from the inside out. The project was intense and three months long but Bud and his team was amazing throughout the process - professional, on schedule, on time, detail oriented and kept me informed all along the way. Our house is old so this was a complete gut job and had layers of complexity to include a soffit that ran across our entire kitchen and housed all the plumbing throughout the top floor and a steel beam. Bud was the only contractor during the bidding process who would take on this challenge and worked tirelessly with the architect and plumber to find a way to remove the soffit and all that entailed. Even the kitchen designer said it couldn't be done and drew plans to accommodate it! The result is amazing we love every inch of the remodel. I would recommend this company and Bud to anyone - his experience, knowledge, patience and commitment to quality work was amazing and hard to find in this industry. He helped us with many decisions along the way and made it even better than we could have ever imagined.

they came in on budget and everything came out great, better than we had pictured, any little problems and Bud was happy to come fix them, his guys are all very friendly, organized and true gentlemen, Anything i have done in to the house in the future I will call them for. Don't hesitate on hiring these guys.
Description of Work: Bud and his guys, did 3 bathrooms, redid our basement, flooring and removed a huge wall from our house,
bud was extremely trustworthy and we even allowed him in our house when we were't home. his estimate was fair and not once did he try to raise the price for changes or unforeseen items. when a painter used a different sheen for the ceiling in our garage,we were willing to accept it, but bud didn't want us to have to settle and he made the painter come back the next day and repaint the ceiling. he put in a lot of extra insulation, to avoid burst pipe issues and agreed to our request to use pre-finished wood floors, both without a price change. throughout the process there was never even a little bit of conflict. bud is really pleasant to work with. the quality of the work and finishings was very good and i wouldn't hesitate to use bud again or recommend him to friends.
Description of Work: we had major water damage from a burst pipe in 3 rooms including our garage, maids room and bathroom while we were out of town. bud replaced the insulation and drywall where needed, installed new wood floors and 3 skylights in our maids room and installed a completely new bathroom including a new vanity, bowl, tiles, shower, and skylight. he then painted and replaced the wood moldings.
I was very happy with the work that was done . I was happy with all of the tradesmen involved and they were helpful in helping us to make some decisions along the way. Bud was very responsive and present throughout the whole remodel. In fact i asked them to give us an estimate for an additional project we are thinking about before they left.
Description of Work: Remodel of entire downstairs of our Raised Ranch - new floors, walls ,doors, ceiling, painting, etc.
Bud was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. He was very prompt in making the initial appointment to review the work required and responded quickly with a full estimate. The work was all scheduled to address our travel plans. During the course of the work itself, Bud made a number of excellent suggestions (such as installing LEDs rather than the fluorescent lights that had been in place). He accommodated a number of changes and did so in a fashion that ensured the cost was fairly assigned - he also ensured that if work was not needed (e.g. re-staining the stairs) it was not performed and no charges were applied. Bud and his crew left the house in an extremely clean state - although Bud did recommend that we have the house cleaned. Bud also followed up very promptly on a few small items that needed to be adjusted. All in all, we were extremely impressed both by the quality of work and the quality of service provided and would have no hesitation in recommending Above and Beyond Contracting to others.
Description of Work: Re-painted the entire interior of a four floor townhouse, re-did the entire lighting system in the house, re-routed cabling within the house, finished a storage room to convert it into an exercise room, removed all the carpet from the stairs and re-finished the stairs and stairwell as necessary, replaced the tile flooring in a hall closet and undertook a variety of other smaller repair/re-finishing tasks.

As always a great experience and great finished product! We have a very 'charming old' house but not always renovation friendly with the old plumbing and plaster walls. We had a seamless experience from start to finish. The bathroom is beautiful and was done on time as projected and most importantly on budget! Bud, the GC, had some great ideas to compliment what we had thought about and made it that much more functional for three little kids that are using it. His sub-contractors were all very professional and cleaned up after every thing all along the way. They made sure to keep the area safe as our kids were in and out and always treated me with respect along the way. We will be using Bud and his team again in the future. just trying to figure out our next house project!

It didn't go well - see above.
Description of Work: He did nothing except to show up once to see what I needed done. Well, I needed new ceilings in my mobile home, he came, looked at my ceilings & told me that he had no idea what they were made from. He asked for the details of my mobile home. I provided him with the manufacturers name, the year, make & model number of my home. He said he would so some research & get back to me. He never even bothered to call me back - a total lack of professionalism.

Response from Above & Beyond Contracting
I contacted her mobile home manufacturer and was told they do not have the ceilings that she needed anymore and they gave me two other places to contact and they both never got back to me after I sent several emails. I had just last week tried to reach out and contact these other two places again and still have not received a response. I told her when I was there that I have never worked on a mobile home and did not know where to start to help her but I would try. The only thing I am guilty of is not calling her recently to let her know what was going on because I had no new information to give her. I again repeat I do not work on these types of homes and did not know how to help.

After having a major renovation of my master suite by Bud, we decided to have his crew install hardwood floors in 3 remaining bedrooms. His crew did such an excellent job on the master hardwood floors and trim that we decided to go with them again. Bud's estimate was the same, if not a little lower than your big-box store's quote for install. His scheduling was flexible. His crew showed up on day 1 and removed all the carpet and molding within about an hour. Day 2, the flooring guys installed all of the hardwood in under 1 day for all 3 rooms. Day 3 he and his crew installed floor molding over a few hours, and Day 4 his painter came by to finish up the job. The floors came out amazing, along with the molding and finishing touches. Again, the area was left clean, tidy, and spotless. Much like our other renovation, our only regret was that we waited so long to do the project. And like our other renovation, and like this one, Bud's quality work will continue in our household for future projects. We look forward to doing more work with Bud!

As always we had a seamless experience with Above & Beyond Contracting. The finished product is beautiful and the renovation process was so easy working with Bud. His team is very professional and he was onsite to manage every detail of the project. The estimate was right on the mark and that is not usual for this industry and we were renovating an original bathroom in a 70 year old house! Bud had some really good ideas that we used based on his years of experience which made the bathroom that much better in the end. We have worked with this company in the past and would recommend them to anyone. This company actually makes construction and renovating easy for the customer and we are thrilled with our new bathroom.
Description of Work: Complete demo and remodel of guest bathroom
This was our first ever renovation project, and the other reviews have confirmed the impeccable quality and service by Above and Beyond Contracting. After about 2 years in our home, we decided that we were tired with a small shower, along with 2 unusually configured closets and a sitting room that didn't work. In October 2014 we sought multiple bids from contractors, ranging from "you give me a budget, and we will work within it", to $7000 to $40,000. Bud's bid was near the higher end, but was with clear indication as to why. It really wasn't a ballpark, it was what it was. Others' gave the impression that they were unclear as to how much it would actually cost. Bud presented us with an itemized estimate, that was spot on. Our initial quote with him was lower, but after great discussion we decided to move walls to make our space work. Despite the changing of the floor plan, this did not significantly impact timing or budget. Other contractors told us it would be astronomically different in pricing if we moved a few walls. This clearly wasn't the case with Bud. If anything, it was maybe 10% more considering how much work we were performing. He was flexible with his scheduling. We were on a strict timeline due to expecting a baby, and he met the timeline as expected. As soon as we had all of our materials, he was ready to work the same week. His workers and subcontractors always showed up on time and he had always notified us of any delays due to weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. The bottom line was that he was flexible with scheduling, and provided an accurate timeframe for our work - approximately 30 days. Bud worked with us from day 1. Even before we hired him, he worked with us to map out different ideas or plans as to how to make our space work. Bud was on site almost every day, which is something that from other contractors you do not see all the time. He provided the day's gameplay, and expectations for the week. He went over any changes that needed to be made (which were minimal). His crew, ranging from his carpenters to the electrician, plumber, painters, flooring, and tile experts were phenomenal. First and foremost, they were always kind, courteous, and knowledgable in their trade. They all valued a very clean environment. My house was NEVER left a mess. Drop cloths were put down to protect floors, walls taped up for sanding, and the entire workspace was cleaned and vacuumed every day. Even on demolition days, the space was clean and tidy. All debris was removed from my premises. All of the workers/subcontractors were trustworthy. I trusted every person that came in my home, as they all had a level of professionalism that was above and beyond my expectations. I felt comfortable leaving my house, and that everything would be safe and well cared for. Each of the craftsmen/workers were highly skilled in their trade. I needed not to be nit-picky with the work or finishing touches, as the completed the work right the first time. They were very helpful if we wanted minor changes. For instance, while the electrician was here, I requested that he move some switches and coax cable that wasn't in the initial scope of the project. They were happy to do so, and it did not significantly change our timing, and wasn't an astronomical change to the budget. We had also provided fancier toggle switches to install, for which they had no issue. All of the electrical work, lighting, came out perfectly, and Bud designed a lighting scheme that provides a tremendous amount of light for our space. The electrician's scope of work was to relocate & install 2 closet lights, 1 sitting room light, 2 shower high hats, 4 bathroom high hats, 2 vanity lights, and all associated moving of switches, updating electrical, and GFI for the space. They had to relocate some switches as work was coming to completion, but did so without difficulty. As for the other subcontractors: Joe the Plumber was excellent. He went through, step by step, as to where exactly we would want each nozzle, volume control, temperature control, etc and made recommendations as appropriate. All of his work was top notch, to code, and looks perfect. You can appreciate his expertise with all of the "little things" that he did. For instance, he knew that the plumbing abutted the wall where I was installing custom cabinets. He encouraged me to take pictures of the roughed in plumbing with the wall open so that I would avoid the plumbing connections and not create any problems. I not only took his advice, but also took measurements. This was so valuable as I was installing the closets, as I would have never known to do such a thing. The plumber's scope of work included moving the shower drain, shower water lines, tub drain, tub water lines, sink faucet and drainage, moving toilet water line, and moving a large vent pipe. He also installed all of the bath faucets, fixtures (tub and toilet), and vanity fixtures. The tile guys did a phenomenal job. My biggest worry from the whole project was that I wouldn't like the tile job - meaning I wouldn't like my selections, I wouldn't be satisfied with the quality of work, or I wouldn't like the layout (staggered vs brick style vs in line). From the start of the tiling project all my anxieties were put aside as soon as they started laying the tile. They were such perfectionists, and always asking questions to ensure that the tile job was exactly what I wanted. They made recommendations to the style and layout as appropriate, and produced a truly luxurious job. The tiling ended up perfect, and I can't stress perfect any more. Their scope of work included installing floor tile in the bathroom, tile with accent around the tub, backsplash over the vanity, and floor to ceiling tile in a large shower with accent wall, and floor. They also installed the shower bench, and door saddles. I truly can't say much about the hardwood flooring guys, other than they were in and out in a few hours, and did a perfect job installing hardwood floors in our bedroom. Didn't interact with them much, as I was out of the house that day. All I can say is that it was to the standards of the other professionals that completed our project. Same goes of the painters and sheetrock guys. I was out on the days they were doing most of their work, so I can only truly comment on the end product, which just like everything else, was perfect. Last are Vinnie and Miguel. They were the guys that essentially were in the house almost every day. The two of them are truly fantastic people, and it is clear by their teamwork that they love what they do. They did all of the demolition, construction, finish work, and finishing touches. Just like everything else, all of their construction and attention to detail was phenomenal. I look forward to seeing them again when it is time for us to finish our basement. As you will read in other reviews, Bud is excellent at what he does, and is a fantastic person on top of that. He takes pride in what he does, and only chooses the best of the best to enter your home. He will provide you guidance, give you examples of "what not to do" to prevent problems in your space. You can tell that he chose his business name appropriately, as everything that he did in my house was Above and Beyond my expectations. It is why I will choose and trust him for other renovations, as I know and trust he will get the job done right, on time, and to perfection. We are so glad we chose Bud for our project, and will have him and his team in our home for other renovations.

Incredibly well. Bud and his team and his team of general contractors truly went above and beyond. From the joe the plumber to butch the Electrican to the entire painting team , every detail we address was finished to our satisfaction. If we weren't satisfied Bud made sure that my wife and I would be. We left this project excited and eggar to start the next chapter of our families life's. Minimal stress !!! We would be more then happy to recommend Bud and his team for any project big or small. His prices are fair and he is honest through the entire process. My wife and I met with 5 GC's and the price range was between 135,000-400,000 Bud was 150,000 and worth every penny.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of our home . New kitchen, removal of wall from kitchen to living room to allow for an open formate, 4 new bathrooms including master bathroom and adding an additional bathroom. We added new doors and windows , all new plumbing and electrical , refinished floors and repainted our entire home with fresh paint and trim.
If you are looking for the cheapest price you should keep looking. However, if you are seeking someone who doesn't cut corners and pays attention to every detail at a competitive price, then look no further than Bud and his team! I recently bought a house in Cortlandt Manor and needed help turning it into a home. Originally I considered replacing the wood floors throughout (at great expense), but Bud convinced me that the existing floors were still in really good shape, and by sanding, applying dark stain, and refinishing, I could have the floors I wanted that were as good as new at less than half the cost of replacing. Sure enough -- The floors came out way better than I expected -- I just had no idea the existing floors could look this good with some TLC! Along with the hardwood floors, I wanted the old 3.25" baseboard trim replaced with 5.25" trim throughout the entire house. Then I had the tile in the foyer replaced, and got a new paint job throughout the house, too. Lastly, in terms of major work, I had Bud replace all of the old ugly (and beaten up) baseboard heater covers throughout the house with new ones. All of this was done flawlessly! Bud also completed a few other minor jobs for me such as replacing some light fixtures, replacing all of the toilets, and improving the foyer coat closet. I can't say enough good things about Bud. He is extremely responsive and reachable at all hours, and the quality of the work delivered by him and his team is exceptional! As I mentioned earlier... If you are looking for the cheapest price, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for someone who will meet or exceed your expectations, and do everything right from the beginning, look no further. Next up for me are complete kitchen and bathroom remodels, and I look forward to working with Bud on those projects, too.
Description of Work: Wood floors throughout house: sand, stain, and refinish Replace tile in foyer Remove old baseboard trim and replaced with 5.25" trim Removed old (discolored and ugly) baseboard heater covers and replaced with new ones Whole house repainting Replaced various lights throughout the house including outside porch lights Replaced toilets

He's honest, friendly and professional. Actually, THE most professional one that I interviewed. He is not the cheapest one, but we didn't want to hire a cheap one either, because you get what you pay for. With the flawless work, it will definitely pay back in long run. Very impressed by Bud and a great THANK YOU to him!

He was very responsive, easy to schedule and showed up right on time. While going over the job he asked all the right questions to understand the full scope of the job. He also had a lot of good suggestions and alternatives on how to complete the work. He said he would email me an estimate and drop one in the mail within a week and he actually did it. His estimate was clear and broken down item by item. I unfortunately was not able to do the job because of time constraints(although he was willing to work under a tight schedule) and the job had gone a little too far over budget and I didn't want to compromise the finished job. The only negative about him was that he was the high estimate of 3. Although with that being said I am confident there wouldn't have been surprise charges and gray areas. He did not do any work for me, but from our meeting I was confident he would have done what he said and on time. He also seemed very knowledgeable and like he understood the importance of good work. My impression was that if you don't mind spending a little extra to get good work, a hassle free job, flexibility and profesionalism he is probably good for you.

They did a great job taking out old windows and replacing them with new Anderson windows. They took away the old windows and left everything spotless inside and out. They did all the trimwork inside and out for the new windows.
We own a converted barn from the mid 1700's, where nothing is "by the book" Bud and his team needed to tear everything completely out and start moving up by rebuilding the support system for the floor first. The exterior walls were also poorly insulated and therefore had to be re-framed for thicker insulation and two new windows. Bud was very knowledgeable on every aspect of the job. We now have a new front entrance door, with tile work and a new hardwood floor. This work was done in the middle of winter and we have no garage so they worked both inside and out. What truly impressed both my wife and myself was their cleanliness. At the end of each day, they would pack up everything, broom clean and then get a vacuum out to clean up. They were a real joy to work with and we will and already have recommended to friends.

Bud and his team were exceptional. Bud wasn't the cheapest quote but he was the contractor we liked the most and felt instantly at ease with. We felt that he would be an excellent fit for the job and to continue working with us on future home projects. The work was delayed slightly due to the holiday period and building permits but none of this was Bud's fault. The actual work was done really quickly and professionally with the guys cleaning up as they went along. On each occasion that they visited the house to do work, they cleaned on their way out, including washing the floors.

Bud Moore and his crew from Above and Beyond Contracting were terrific! This was one of the first big projects my husband and I have done on our home and Bud was definitely the right person for the job. He was very professional and did amazing work. The basement turned out exactly as I envisioned it. He introduced me to his team up front and reassured me that I would be seeing the same people working on my house throughout the project. His communication was terrific and he always let me know what to expect. Any small modifications I made along the way were handled with a "no problem, will do" attitude. The subcontractors he brought in were also terrific and again, he let me know who was coming so that I never felt like there were random people moving about my basement. In terms of his work, I would say it is definitely top notch. Even my friends who have interior design experience and contracting experience, have commented on what a great job he did. He takes pride in his work and it shows. From the big concept to the small details, Bud and his crew were fantastic.
