Description of Work: Moved from Queens,NY to Charlestown, RI Today's May 27th move is my second fantastic experience With Jimmy Consaga's Man With A Van and More and his outstanding team. Earlier in April in a matter of a few hours, the garage, basement, outside premises and three stories of my 1931 home were cleared of accummulated lifestuff in preparation for a move to a new home in Rhode Island. The hauling was done efficiently, quickly and professionally. (see my April 15th review) When the May 7th closing date in Charlestown fell through I notified Jimmy of the delay. His instant text read: "Don't worry we will help you." He phoned me and spent time reworking his busy schedule for a May 27th Memorial weekend move. He calmed my anxiety and reassured me that should I need help with the packing his crew would help me if the closing date issue became a problem again. He was flexible, responsive at all times and ready to work with my situation. Finally with my May 24th closing in Rhode Island, the Queens house move was entirely in Jimmy's hands. He kept me up to the minute with his plan to load the truck on on Saturday afternoon and make the early Sunday move on the 27th. Additional trash had to be hauled and this was scheduled as a separate job at a very reasonable cost. My entire move to RI cost $2800.

Description of Work: Phoned Jim Conaga for hauling estimate prior to move from New York to Rhode Island. He came to my home with 3 workers checked the garage, basement and my 3-story house. That evening he emailed me the price for hauling 2 truckloads of accumulated lifestuff over a period of 51 years. I was pleased and relieved. At 9:00 a.m. the next morning 5 friendly, energetic men appeared and the work began. They worked fast and in a very coordinated way. Every step of the work was very efficient; they checked often to ask me if I wanted to throw this or that away. They cleared out the backyard; dismantled an old shed, an ancient picnic table, etc.The garage and basement and the house were done in the same manner. Davey was at hand for me and his colleagues. The crew works so well together; are enthusiastic and friendly in their own communication. Jim came during the last phase of the work and helped in the wrapup.. I want to mention how pleased I am that several old but sound pieces of furniture will be donated for people to use . The project was completed a little after 1:00 p.m. Jim kept me informed and updated by email and phone throughout. He is the best -- flexible, caring and the definition of professional. This experience was excellent. Angie's List has done it again! .. A Man with a Van and More will move me to Rhode Island in two weeks!

Description of Work: My move was a partial move of furniture and many boxes from an apartment and from a storage facility in another town. All of this went to a house in yet another city. The movers also helped rearrange furniture in my apartment.

Description of Work: I found the perfect 4 piece wall unit on craigslist, only it was located 2.5 hrs away from me! This was a heavy, solid unit made of oak. I saw an ad in the Angies List magazine for A Man With A Van and More, located in White Plains, NY. I called and spoke with Jimmy, the owner. He and his crew were able to pick up the wall unit on Saturday afternoon and delivered it to me the following morning! They were very communicative. They took great care with moving my things. They protected my floor. They were sensitive to my requests to let me secure my pets before beginning to move the furniture in to my house. I can't say enough about the prompt service I received. I would definitely hire them again!

Description of Work: Jimmy and his team did an exceptional job moving us from Manhattan to Westchester. They were professional, courteous and accommodating. It was a particularly stressful time for us to move as my wife was 9 months pregnant and a few days away from having the baby. They could not have made the experience easier for us. They moved all of our boxes, furniture, electronics and other assorted items out of a coop building in Manhattan to a house in Westchester. They were incredibly careful with everything and nothing was damaged in any way. They took great care in our coop as well as our new home.

Description of Work: I used Jimmy and his crew to move my belongings from a two bedroom apartment to my new house which is about 8 miles from my apartment. I tried to schedule an earlier date for my move, but due to my schedule at work, I was not able to lock in a time. Jimmy was understanding and tried his best to accomodate us even though this was somewhat of a last minute job. Jimmy promised to be at my apartment between 8 and 8:30am and he was there at 8:00am. He had two guys working with him and they did a great job moving everything out though I had a small elevator and was a few floors up. They broke down my furniture and reassembled them at the new house. His price was very competitive relative to my other quotes and the service was professional and then some.

Description of Work: I first contacted Jimmy after receiving his info from service magic and reading his glowing reviews on Angie's List. We spoke several times as well as corresponded via email. His quote was higher than others that I received but he offered me a $300 discount if we paid in cash, which would have reduced our price to $1200. We have a baby and I was very concerned about how our things would be handled as well as the level of cleanliness. Jimmy assured me that his trucks were spotless and that you could "eat off the floors" he also assured me that they did not do clean outs or evictions and that there were some dirty movers out there and to be careful... days later, after reading through his website, I was disturbed to find that his company did do "clean outs" When I emailed him about it, he became belligerent and called me saying "what does this have to do with your move? it's a completely different division" Despite this, it was now only a couple of weeks before our move, and we were too pressed with time to interview and hire another mover as we were packing and renovating our new home. Since we were making frequent trips to the new house, we transported a number of items ourselves and had agreed to touch base the day before to revise our inventory list and pricing. We moved our dining table, two dining chairs, our push mower, all of our glasses and china, a lounge chair as well as many boxes and several lamps, etc... When I revised our inventory we discovered that on my initial inventory (which is a form on his website), that I accidentally wrote that we were moving within the same town, although I did put in the new zip code... His response and level of unprofessionalism was the straw that broke the camel's back. Moving is stressful enough, and if a mover is going to be paid over a $1,000 for a service, NO ONE deserves to be spoken to in such a manner. Below are our correspondences: JIMMY: YOU ALSO SCREWED UP THE ADDRESS LOCATION. ON THE FIRST FORM YOU HAVE "X Street"" IN GRETNECK, AND THIS RECENT FORM, ITS HUNTINGTON! I'M LOSING MY PATIENCE REAL QUICK, I AM HERE TO HELP YOU LIKE I TOLD YOU ON THE PHONE, BUT I HAVE MY LIMITS, I DON'T LIKE BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! I WANT AN ANSWER RIGHT NOW , ARE WE MOVING YOU OR NOT TOMORROW JIMMY P.S I'M NOT YELLING BY THE CAPS!! ITS HARD TO READ THE LOWER CASE LETTERS, I NEED CONFIRMATION ASAP OR I HAVE TO MAKE ALTERNATE PLANS MY RESPONSE: Jimmy, I am just seeing all of your emails. I looked back and realized that I did write Great Neck accidentally on the destination but I did put the right zip of 11743 and was not trying to take advantage. We have a large ikea wardrobe that needs to be broken down and the second time that I did the inventory, I didn't see wardrobe listed so I checked armoire. Also, i did not add an extra rug, 2 rugs were listed on my first request. One is 5x8 and the other is 8x10. My husband just told me tonight that the storage unit is full as I have not been over there. Also, we moved our dining table, two chairs, the push mower, and our lounge chair ourselves so I don't see how you can say that we have not taken anything off. At this point, I will find someone else since I am too stressed to have to deal with your accusations. I had originally asked for an in home inspection as I was still packing and didn't have an accurate box count. JIMMY: There are no accusations. What it is is what it is. The bottom line is the cost will be more based on what you have and where you are going. I spent a half an hour on the phone with you and spoke 3-4 times and all you were worried about was cutting the price. I gave you a good deal to begin with. This is about being prepared and having the right size truck and man power also. I did offer to come out when you were crying on the phone about bedbugs and was concerned about your baby. Maybe your husband should have called me. I had no issues with coming out. If you want the job done then I suggest later today or sunday morning. If not I wish you the best of luck.

There were very adaptable with any changes we needed to make last minute. They came on time to move and delivered through a snowstorm . We were apprehensive about moving with the piano and antique furniture but this company took care of everything we needed. I would give them an overall A+ rating
