Jimmy and his team were professional, courteous, prompt, fairly priced, and flexible. In a word, AWESOME. Jimmy called me within 30 minutes of my inquiry (which was at about 8PM). He met with me to go through the house to get a good estimate of the job. It would have been difficult to list the contents. Jimmy advised me on storage and put me in contact with the right person to get the storage at a good price. This was a big job that spanned two days. At all times, I felt that the team was on my side and was just as interested in getting this job done right as I was. They even handled additional content to be removed that I had forgotten about. This company does it all. They are extremely flexible. I thought I was going to have to hire two, or maybe three different companies to get this all done, but "A Man With A Van and More" handled it like pros. Frankly, I have never seen guys work as hard as this team did. I would definitely recommend this company for any of your hauling or moving needs.

We initially got an estimate for the move by using their online web tool. When it was significantly out of line with another quote we had gotten from a company that had come to our home to do an estimate, we requested that Jimmy visit our home to re-submit a bid. That second bid was in-line with the other companies bid and we opted to contract services with A Man with a Van and More. Prior to the move, we had several clarifying questions for Jimmy (we didn't want any surprises the day of the move or any unexpected expenses) and he was always responsive to his emails. None of the extras we had anticipated and spoken with Jimmy about ended up costing extra. There were no hidden costs that surprised us in the end (much appreciated). His men arrived on-time the morning of the move and got straight to work. They were very professional and careful with our furniture and boxes and completed the packing of the moving trucks at the time Jimmy had originally estimated they would. It was appreciated that any time they were about to pack a piece of furniture that already had damage to it that they alerted us to it (so we wouldn't think it was damaged in-transit). On day two of the move, his men arrived in NH around the time they were expected and again were very quick, professional and careful in unpacking the trucks and placing our furniture. They were very good at dismantling and reconstructing our beds. They also were very efficient at packing the stuff we wanted to store into our storage space - so efficient that we didn't have to get two storage units (which we were afraid we would have to), but also we will not be able to easily access stuff at the back of the unit (our fault - reminder to self for next move - be sure to label separately anything going to storage that you want easy access to so it can be placed near the door!). We labeled most everything, but anything that wasn't labeled they were very good about asking about so when it was loaded on the truck, they knew which location it would be unloaded at. We appreciated having the same crew for loading and unloading. We highly recommend Jimmy and his team. They all worked hard and in NH didn't stop working until they were done, even to eat the lunch we had provided for them!

Why struggle with activities you can no longer handle safely or efficiently? Use this company and be satisfied start to finish. There weren't any don'ts, only do's.

I felt the communication to get to my move date was a little confusing, and up until a day or two before had no real confirmation. But once they came and did the job it was superb. The movers were on time and very careful about all of the furniture...pointing out issues before they packed anything. They did not scuff any of my newly painted walls and placed everything exactly where it needed to be. They even took extra time to lift everything for me whle I put felt on the bottom of my furniture to protect my hardwood floors. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

James and his team did very nice job cleaning/hauling the clatter from my basement that the previous owner left. In addition they demolished a wall and cabinets in the basement. Very nice experience, highly recommended, will hire again. In fact I already have a shed demolition project in plan.

Jimmy and his guys did an excellent job on two separate moves. We had to move our stuff into storage for a month and then into our new home. Through all that moving, not a single item was damaged. Every wall in the house was pristine, they really did a great job. I had provided bad info on the amount of stuff to be moved and even that didn't phase them. Jimmy said they would figure something out and they did. Jimmy made everything easy and I really am thankful for that. I would definitely use them again - a great outfit from top to bottom.

Jimmy was very professional from the first contact via email (estimate) to the last minutes of the move. Although, we paid 25% more than quoted, we have also significantly underestimated the number of moved boxes and pieces of furniture. The crew worked relentlessly for the straight 12 hours (from 9:30am till 9:30pm) helping us not only with moving but also setting up furniture in the new house. Jimmy was also nice enough to lend us wardrobes boxes till we were comfortably unpacked. We highly recommend his services and we will be using him in a near future for other moving needs. I would also like to advise to tip the crew well after the well-done job.

They say that moving is one of the most stressful things in life. If everyone used this company then that stigma would go away for good. I cannot say enough about how great an experience this was for us. Dave and his team (4 guys total) were punctual, efficient, knowledgable about how to pack and arrange/organize and they were extremely polite and friendly. They worked very hard for two days and always had a smile on their faces. We plan on using them again when we send some things to a storage facility. With A Man with a Van & More you get what you pay for: STRESS FREE MOVING. Highly HIGHLY recommend them!

Jimmy responded to my initial phone call inquiry within hours. Move to storage went extremely smoothly--Jimmy got in touch with Westy's and coordinated the size unit and the move-in. All I had to do was go to Westys and sign the contract. Additionally, Jimmy has a relationship with several charities and took furniture, dishes, etc. directly to their distribution center so I didn't have to coordinate an additional pickup. The crew is wonderful--really, really hard working and careful. Packing day crew of 3 arrived exactly on time and quickly and carefully prepped for the move. Moving day from house and storage started on time and the crew worked nonstop until 6pm. They were very careful and worked together extremely well. I hope I never have to move again, but I will never use any other company than Man with a Van and More if I do have to move!

Most of the story is described above, but I have to mention that there wasn't a single scratch or dent to the building at either end of the trip. As with any professional, the work put into the preparation usually shows itself in the final product. A couch being moved was placed on a heavy moving blanket ( to protect the floor), stood on its end and wrapped in other moving blankets, then bound in plastic wrap, only then was it lifted and carefully carried out. Also, no thing or person stands still with Jimmy around. Even while the crew chief Danny had things moving smoothly, Jimmy was having the guys try out different packing tape, tossing those that didn't make the cut, and returning with many extra rolls of the ones that passed muster. I would recommend and/or use Jimmy again.

Overall, it went very smoothly. This was a last minute move since a real estate closing was moved up a few days. I called on a Sunday mid-day and needed to move the next day (Monday). James texted me 30 minutes later to fill out his online form, and then subsequently emailed me back a quote ($1,000). The price was probably slightly on the high end of what I expected but I am willing to pay for last minute responsiveness. The next morning, when I got to the apartment 5 minutes before the start time, the movers and truck were already there with a parking spot (I was confused...this is the first time this has happened in 5 moves in NYC). The price went up a little because I added a large sectional sofa that was not on my online list (fair). There were 3 movers (I met two and one stayed in the truck). They were quick, professional and all business. I would use them again....

The guys were great, arrived early, packed quickly and unpacked quickly. Everything arrived in good condition and they reassembled my bed at the new apartment.

I would say, overall, this was a pretty much pain-free move. Usually dealing with moving companies is a nightmare, but I can say this time it was really straightforward. The best part was how quickly Jimmy (owner) gets back to you. He gave me an estimate within 24 hours and responded to my questions usually within 1 hour. His crew was exceptionally fast, hard-working, and did not waste any time. Overall, they are movers, not white collar bankers, and they do a h*** of a job!! I would use them again, and refer them to a friend.

From the first phone call to the completion of the job, working with Jimmy and his crew was an very positive experience. Most of our communication was through email which Jimmy always answered in a timely manner. Jimmy and his crew arrived on time and ready to work. They moved out some of our furniture for bulk pick up. the rest of the furniture was moved to different rooms as we were moving our children into different bedrooms. Jimmy's' crew were professional and polite. They took extreme care not to damage walls , floors and furniture. Even the items that they placed outside for bulk pick were neatly stacked and sorted. They insisted that I check out everything before they left to make sure it was all completed to my liking. What can I say other than I have found my "forever mover."

The work was performed very well. They moved everything on time and without a single scratch. Our super repeatedly told es that we have great movers. I will definitely hire them again.

Contacted Jimmy for an estimate to move contents of house to an apt, approximately 15 mile distance. He advised me to fill out an online form listing contents and he would give me a price. Once he quoted me price i was skeptical, because of estimates I received from other movers and asked him if he could personally come to our home and personally inspect contents, he agreed and was there the next day, and honored his price. At the time of his visit we were awaiting a closing date for the sale of our home,when the lawyer called with the date it was scheduled the day before Labor Day weekend, we had to move the date to Sept 6th and contact Jimmy, obviously it being a holiday weekend and the fact that we couldn't give him enough lead time, we started to panic. . When Jimmy returned our call he was solidly booked to Sept 12th, he calmed us down, REWORKED HIS SCHEDULE TO MOVE US ON THE SUNDAY OF LABOR DAY WEEKEND AT THE AGREED PRICE OF 1500.00. He called the night before to confirm an arrival time in the morning , showed up on time with his crew of 5. The crew all acted in a professionl and courteous manner, taking care to wrap all furniture and glass beyond what we expected. Jimmy went above and beyond professionalism and customer satisfaction. It went pretty well. The work was done well. The workers worked hard and were very trustworthy and timely. I also found the price fairly reasonable.

James Consaga is a rude & offensive individual. I filled out the online form for a quote and he emailed me back a figure of $2500, I replied and said that I had a quote for less than half that amount, he replied 'Its a no brainier then. Why bother getting others quote then' I told him that this attitude was not going to win any friends, he then replied and called me Stuey (My name is Stuart) I do not take kindly to being called Stuey by my friends but when a total stranger who is meant to be a professional calls me that, he is crossing a line. I would NEVER use this company if the attitude of Consaga is anything like the service they offer. DISGUSTED.

I needed to move a one-room office space from White Plains to Manhattan. I'm used to paying higher prices for moving in NYC and James' quote was on the upper end of what I'd consider "normal". But I trusted the solid reviews on Angie's List, and having been burned by moving companies before - extra charges, kinda suspicious characters - I was willing to pay a premium not to deal with any of that. Bottom Line: On time. Courteous & professional. No attitude or complaining during the move. The guys were extremely polite, and made the experience almost painless on my end. And absolutely no shadiness! What a relief.

Great. Jimmy was easy to work with by phone and email in terms of prepping estimate. He showed up with a good team right on time, and they took care of business in moving the house and setting everything up ini new place. They even moved a basketball hoop for me that I had neglected to mention in estimate. It was a pretty sizeable item so presented some logistical challanges. Job well done - THANKS

We went with this company, since it was the only one whose quote was within our price range and could perform the entire move within the time frame we needed, which we were surprised about. We looked into 20+ NYC area companies on-line and received estimates from 4. The other companies we received estimates from had said it would take upwards of a week for us to receive delivery of our things from the time of load-in, without a guaranteed delivery date, which we were not comfortable with. We loaded in with A Man with a Van on Sunday, July 29th, and received our delivery on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 1st, which was just as promised. The guys who did the work were really great and impressively fast! Both the load-in and load-out crews were exceptional, extremely kind, professional, and generous with their time and effort. Though Jim wasn't on the job himself, whenever I had questions and contacted him, he was extremely fast and responsive every time. We even had to follow up with him about moving cost reimbursement paperwork needed for my husband's new job, and he got us what we needed within a couple hours of our request, no questions asked. Dealing with a move is never easy, but we felt good about supporting a local business, and we were happy with the level of personal attention we received.

I contacted three different moving companies and Jimmy was immediately the most professional. He asked me to itemize what was to be moved and based on my response he gave me a verbal estimate, which I accepted and a date was set. They arrived on time and moved with lightning speed without a scratch, knick or dent on anything. They even helped us carry out stuff to our truck that wasn't part of the movve. Also, despite the fact that we added some items, the price remained the same. On the two-hour drive, I was following a little behind and got delayed. Since there was no one at the n ew place too let them in they wound up waiting quite awhile for me. I though for sure there would be an extra charge or, at a minimum, that Jimmy would be upset about it, but he wasn't. He is quite a personabe guy and easy to get along with.The othere major thing I love about this company is the honesty. One of the workers found my mom's diamond wedding and engagement ring stashed under a dresser and immediately brought it downstairs to me. There is no way I would have known it was there. I was very impressed. If you need a mover, THIS IS YOUR GUY. Trust Me.

In the beginning, it appeared there would be some extraordinary issues with this move. In the end, this was not the case. Nevertheless, Jimmy was very responsive and proactive throughout the potential ordeal, following up to make sure I was on top of the situation.The movers were great. They took extremely good care of everything they moved, not marking any of the walls, even once, through the stairways. They are true professionals. The floors in the apartment are delicate hardwood and not even one scratch.I would definitely recommend Jimmy's group to anyone going through a move and would definitely call on them again, should I need movers.
