A Man With a Van & More!, Inc.

This company was recommended by the Westy Storage facility's moving concierge professional. However, the experience couldn't have been more disappointing. I called the owner, left a VMM, and about 10 minutes later received a text message response to fill out paperwork on their website. No one ever called me back, answered any questions, all I received via email (despite the wording on the form that they would pick up the phone and call) was an outrageous quote for double what other moving company's were quoting. Perhaps this individual couldn't be bothered because it was a small job that would take less than 3 hours, but I am still shocked at the absolute lack of professionalism. I can't understand why anyone would use this company.

Their service was excellent. They showed up on time. They also accommodated extra boxes and furniture, that I did not include in the original quote, without increasing the price a lot. They were careful with our belonging and made sure to wrap everything properly. They were very efficient and the delivery process was also well done. They were especially careful with moving my piano and did that with no problems. They started the work at eight in the morning and finished around two that afternoon. I was very satisfied with the service and I have no complaints.

Their workers were phenomenal. David was fabulous. He worked hard to complete everything I wanted done. He was very accommodating especially to my time constraint. I needed them to move out her stuff one day and move it into a new apartment the next day. I needed the work performed before I went on vacation. They did everything perfectly. It was a great experience and I did not have to worry about anything.

The price was a little steep to just move a couch form one area to another. However, they did have to remove the legs of the couch and they re installed them correctly. they also had to help re arrange existing furniture that was in the room. They had to move another couch in the room and re position it. The labor justified the cost. The guys who did the work were very nice and the owner was pretty responsive. They certainly worked to complete the job for me quickly. He came right away that morning before he went to two other big jobs which I really appreciated.

Basically, they did everything Jimmy said that they would do. Jimmy came to look over the items he would be moving the same day I called him. He sent me an estimate a couple of hours later, and said his guys would deliver the day following the move. Six guys came to pack the Hutches and load the truck; they came at 9 AM and were finished by 12:30. We went to Vermont that night, the movers having said they would show up early the next day. They showed at 7 AM and were done by 9:30 AM. They were very careful and polite, making sure everything was put where we wanted it. Nothing was broken, and I have already recommended them to a couple of friends who might be moving in the near future.

They did a very good job. The work was completed quickly. They came within the time allotted. They brought my stuff directly to Englewood and unloaded. I was very pleased with the service and they took care of everything.

I cannot say enough great things about this provider. They were punctual, polite and worked so hard with a smile on their faces the whole time. I would never use anyone else and have already recommended them to all my friends. It's no wonder they have so many A ratings. They earned it.

Moved my mom's 50 year old Mahogany furniture gently, carefully and without incident. All the furniture was wrapped with care and moved into my home without any problems. The movers were very professional and I was extremely pleased with the results. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for movers.

I got 4 estimates on my move from Angie's List providers. The move required a pickup at a storage facility, as well as a move from a 4bdrm house to a 3bdrm house in the next town. Three out of four estimates were virtually identical. Jimmy did, however, give me several options from full pack and move all, to pack your own and move just furniture (for the house part of the move). I decided to go with Man and A Van and More because of the way that Jimmy spoke about his crew. They have all worked for him for years and he really cares about them. I figured happy crew, happy move. Having moved from NYC 21 years ago, I experienced the move from h*** with a crew that fought amongst themselves and were miserable. Glad I followed my gut! Jimmy worked to accomodate our changing closing dates. The storage move was done on a separate day--it was a thing of beauty as I watched this well-oiled machine empty out a 10x10 unit and pack a truck in 40 minutes. Jimmy was there and it was obvious that this is a boss who has created an atmosphere of mutual respect. His guys were happy, strong, and efficient. (Shout out to Dave, the foreman!) The move from house to house was the following day it was finished soup to nuts in 4.5 hrs. Not a thing was broken. All furniture was protected.. Stuff placed where I asked. I can't say enough about the professionalism of this crew! In retrospect, I wish I could have gone for the deluxe package and not moved our own boxes and clothes, it was no picnic, but that was our choice. We tipped the crew 20%...they deserved every penny. Look no further, this is the company you want to handle your move. It could not have gone more smoothly.

They were great from beginning to end. I had originally agreed to use a different moving company, who one week prior to our move increased the price and was becoming horrible to deal with. I called Jimmy in a panic, and he was able to squeeze us into his schedule on the move date that we needed. The guys showed up when expected and were friendly and professional. When we arrived at the new house they were more than accommodating in moving furniture around for me as I tried to figure out where to put everything. I would definitely use them again for future moves.

I cannot say enough how amazing my experience was. Moving can be a very stressful situation, and with all that can go wrong, dealing with Jim and his team was the bring spot in our day. They were fast, professional and were able to manage some difficult situations due to sizes of furniture and room openings. I have used movers in the past who mishandled and damaged our furniture, so I was a bit concerned in hiring a team, but I was thrilled by the service that was provided. I should mention, the price was also very fair. I will be moving again in a few months and hope to use A Man with a Van again. If you are moving, I would not recommend working with anyone else.

Jimmy and his team were a machine. They worked quickly, but took great care with fragile items and stayed organized in loading the truck by drop-off location, so there was no chaos and no damage whatsoever. There were some serious customer-caused logistics changes at the last minute and they dealt without any drama or serious up-charges. I would highly recommend AMWAVAM to anyone!

The movers showed up exactly when they said they would...checked out my belongings...and began loading.......we started with 3 workers and another showed up after a small job was completed about 2 hrs into the move. The workers were polite and professional and ---very nice--funny, taking away some of the stress of the day. They moved all the things in -- put them exactly where I wanted them--removed all the plastic wrap they wrapped things in and kept asking me if I was sure everything was where I wanted it..........they were just great! They even tolerated my little annoying (confused) dog! They then went on to my daughter's house and delivered some things. Her feedback was that they were very professional. I would highly recommend them.

Everything went very well, after 17 years in a house it is a lot of stuff to pack up. They also provided a truck for things I still needed to dump, and then take furniture to consign. In the new house, they worked very efficiently to get beds set up, furniture in place.

The entire move from the estimate to the moment they drove away after moving us in was great. We first met Jimmy when he came to our home for the initial estimate. We liked him right away -friendly, hardworking, ernest, and a really nice person. He was very assuring between the time we signed the contract to the day of our move, promptly responding to questions that came up and helping to ease the stress that is inevitable with any move. Jimmy graciously worked with our closing dates and was able to hold our possessions in his trucks overnight, during a very busy time period. He truly went out of his way to accommodate our needs and to make sure the job was done right. Jimmy arrived with his crew, on time, for both move-out and move-in. He and his team are a hard working, thorough, conscientious group of good men. Every person in the team has certain jobs which make their collaboration and efficiency impressive. They handled all of our belongings with care, wrapped furniture as needed, and were easy to work with in terms of placement of our things during the move-in. Before we found A Man With a Van and More, I had interviewed several national moving companies, meeting with salesmen for estimates. After driving out to two of the companies offices and warehouses, and doing some research on Angie's List (and reading horror stories about damages and lost claims using national brands), we found James Consaga. We couldn't be more pleased with the way our move turned out. Not a single item was damaged, and I'm glad to support a good, local business. We would hire Jimmy and his guys again in a heartbeat.

It went okay. The cost was originally quoted $600, but they hit me with an additional $200 because of the flights of stairs even though I advised him of this during the estimate. They didn’t honor the price, but the work was good. They did a nice job, were courteous, and punctual.

James Consaga was most helpful and concerned about every detail of this move. He made several phone calls to confirm all my sister's needs for a smooth and organized move to NC. He met our brother and even helped him with a few items that he was going to take from my sister's home. The packers were very thorough and every item arrived safely. Mr. Consaga and his helpers were punctual and very quick workers. When they arrived in North Carolina, I met them at our storage unit where they dropped some furniture and items. Then they followed me to our house with the other furniture and boxes. Everything was unloaded and placed in the house without any problems. We highly recommend A Man With A Van & More, Inc. I believe the cost was due to the distance of the move, yet it was worth it.

After making numerous calls to various Angie?s List movers, I learned that moving on/around July 1st wasn?t going to be easy. However, each company was kind enough to recommend other moving companies (also highly ranked on Angie?s List). I received a call from A Man With A Van & More Inc. saying that they recently had a cancellation. The price seemed high at first, however, when the movers arrived at 8:10am (I was given a window of arrival between 8-9am) and began disassembling my bed, dining table, chairs, etc., I realized that it was worth every penny! Not only did they take GREAT care in disassembling each item, they also wrapped each piece meticulously, took extra care of special items using plastic and padded blankets and kindly answered any questions/concerns I had regarding the process. Sure, I would?ve liked to pay a bit less for a move from Wall Street to my storage facility in Brooklyn, but considering the lack of availability during the Summer month and care shown by each mover and the amount of items I had to move? I have no regrets!

Jimmy was great. He got back to me within a couple of hours of calling on the July 4th weekend, gave me available dates for moving the piano and the cost. Best of all, there were no issues moving a heavy upright piano from an elevator building on Upper West side apt to an apt in Tarrytown. I would definitely use Jimmy again and highly recommend him.

Four men showed up on time and got straight to work. They worked tirelessly and efficiently. They were extremely careful, and pointed out any damage they saw on my furniture before they moved it, so that I would know that they had not caused it. During the move, they did not break or damage a single item, in part because of the care they took to wrap sensitive wood surfaces with protective covering. When they arrived at my new apartment, the unloading went just as smoothly. They asked me where I wanted to put things, and they were careful to unload the truck in a sensible order. They offered to stay and put together furniture for me, and they were happy to stay and move furniture around until I was happy with its placement (although I didn't ask for very many adjustments). Mr. Consaga himself responded with lightening speed to all of my communications. He did give me a quote that was three hundred dollars higher than my other estimates, but he stuck to that quote, and I did feel that the quality of the service was worth the extra price.

We have moved many times over the years and it can be very stressful! This move was great thanks to A Man With A Van and More Inc. I started to get estimates a little over a month before we were going to close on the house. I went on Angie's List and found several providers and read their reviews. A Man with A Van and More Inc. returned my call promptly and came out the same day to do the estimate. I'm still waiting for some of the other companies to call me back! Some of the companies did call back but did not think it was necessary to come out and do an on site estimate. They wanted me to email and send pictures of everything that we wanted moved. Jimmy and his crew did a great job and they were very fast and accomodating! I would highly recommend them for any move that you have coming up. The price was reasonable and it was stress free! Jimmy was responsive from my initial inquiry to my final follow-up. By engaging his team, I was able to move my possessions to South Florida without having to transfer everything from local mover to cross-country mover to local mover. His team arrived on time, completed their work in a clean, careful, and professional manner and delivered everything on time as promised. There were no surprises regarding costs -- Jimmy quoted an all-inclusive fee (and except for the few extras that I requested), came through with no additional costs. I would definitely recommend him.
