I needed a quick move, which included moving a baby grand piano. I called Tuesday afternoon and my call was returned within 15 minutes. A move was set up for the following day. All I can say is that I highly recommend this company. After 20+ years as an Army Wife and moving very often-- these guys were the absolute BEST. Prompt, professional and extremely careful. I can't say enough: An excellent moving company all around.

The movers were consummate professionals. I was contacted by telephone on the date scheduled and given a time frame for arrival. This was honored. The men took great care with our things, especially the electric keyboard. It was carefully placed in its box and covered with blankets. Upon arrival in DC the sofa did not fit in the elevator, and the men carried it to the seventh floor. It had to be carefully manipulated into the doorway of the apartment which at first seemed too small, but the men were successful getting it in. They were polite and flawlessly competent. I would not hesitate to use this company again, and I would be happy to be a personal reference at any time.

It was a great experience. The price didn't change upon arrival and they brought enough guys to get the move done quickly and professionally (I even tipped James for the great service).

Service was great. Very responsive with communication to set up the job. The crew was careful with packing our nice furniture so nothing would be damaged. They showed up on time, did everything they said they would, took great care of our belongings, and they stuck to the price that was quoted. I would definitely use them again.

They showed up 20 min to 30 min late. They did an excellent job of wrapping my furniture and handling the fragile boxes. They were friendly and courteous. I am very happy with the service I received and will use them again when I am ready to get my stuff out of storage.

They did a great job - were punctual and polite. Access to our apartment was tough and they got the right size truck for the job.I am going to use them again soon.

They rescued us after we were completely blown off yesterday by another mover, some no-name outfit who promised us a too-good-to-be-true price. well it was! So after scrambling to find someone responsible, we joined Angies list and fortunately found A Man with A Van & More. So, in summary, after getting blown off by someone else yesterday, Jimmy and crew helped us out in great fashion, with all calls and service performed SAME DAY, and on super bowl sunday! Plus the cost was better than all others! Highest recomendation!

Everything went very well from the time Jimmy and his crew arrived to when we were finished. The movers were punctual, took care to protect each piece of furniture and segregate which items were going to which location. It was a great experience and I would use them again.

James accommodated my tight schedule by coming at 8 PM with his men. These guys were FANTASTIC. I used to work for a moving company many years ago, so I know good movers when I see them. They wrapped and blanketed the pieces that required it. Moved a huge armoire and triple dresser with ease. They were able to navigate the door, steps, hall and chandelier easily. My flooring job took longer than expected. I was unable to keep our appointment for the reverse move. That was no problem for James. He further accommodated me by coming back on a Saturday to reverse the job. He could have held me off until Monday, but he knew I wanted my bedroom back. His guys even held up the furniture while I put adhesive, felt pads on the bottom of the legs, so it wouldn't scratch my new wood flooring. I cannot speak highly enough about this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs anything moved -anywhere. I would not only use them again....I wouldn't use anyone else! Hire this company and you won't be disappointed. They are PHENOMENAL!

After the initial scheduling hick up due to severe weather, the process went on smoothly. Movers shown up on time. They knew what they were doing and were very polite and professional. The best part about this company is communication: they call back, confirm, respond to emails, phone calls and messages. Overall a very good experience.

Second experience using A Man With A Van. The team is prompt and very professional. Moving is stressful, they really helped to alleviate much of that stress. No damages to my stuff. They had to take apart a few pieces and reassemble them, all done without a complaint, comment or hitch. Would definitely recommend them. God forbid I have to move again, they are my first call.

The company replied to my inquiry by sending a form which had to be completed detailing the items to be moved. I completed the form as best I could, but I could not give a complete listing of all items, exact number of boxes, etc. The estimate came back promptly, but was not itemized. The email response just gave a total dollar amount for the move. I was concerned, because I had no idea how exact the estimate was, what the figure was based on (weight, number of items, etc.), nor how it would change since I had not been able to provide the exact number of items to be moved. We did not go with this company because of that.

I hired Jimmy and his team for a small move of just my largest furniture items. To save some money, I had intended to move all boxes and smaller items on my own, however, when I woke up the morning of the move, I was very very sick. Realizing that I was not going to be able to move any items on my own, I called Jimmy and asked him if his crew could do everything. I only called him a half hour before they were supposed to arrive for the move. He only had 2 guys assigned for my move and a smaller truck but he went out of his way to help me. He drop the guys off to start the move and went to get a larger truck. What was supposed to be a half day move turned into a full day move for his guys. His team was very very nice and professional. They ran into an obstacle with my couch. It almost didn't get out my door but they were persistent and figured it out. I was really grateful to Jimmy and his team for accommodating me that day. I don't know what I would have done otherwise. Their flexibility to respond to my last minute changes was a real lifesaver.

They arrived on time, were extremely professional, pleasant and efficient. We will use them again when it is time to move the furniture back to the house.

Jimmy and his crew are great. Snow, very low temperatures, and other incidents changed the schedule a few times. They were flexible and got the job done when we wanted it. His crew worked hard.

Jimmy and his crew saved the day. After another mover canceled on us with no notice, we were stuck on a Sunday, three days prior to Christmas, with a fully packed 3BR apartment and no hope. After frantically calling multiple movers that Sunday, Jimmy was the first to respond (actually only to respond on a Sunday). I explained our situation and he immediately set out to find a way to fit us in the next day - Dec 23rd. Jimmy was excellent to deal with on the phone. I spoke directly with him organizing the move. He was able to arrange a crew to meet us the next morning. A crew of five arrived and efficiently moved us to our new home. The crew was professional and exceptional at their job. I would recommend A Man with a Van and Jimmy to anyone. We are so grateful that he was able to help us out of our bind.

They worked quickly, efficiently and neatly, and everything went according to plan. I would use their service again.

Jimmy and his guys handled a very difficult move for my aunt -- moving out of an apartment that she had lived in for over twenty years on the Upper East Side of Manhattan .... to Orchard Park, a small town outside of Buffalo. They were very understanding, accommodating, and thankfully, flexible. First, and foremost, when we hit an unanticipated glitch, they worked with us and changed the moving date without complaint. And we're not talking about a date change a month in advance, we're talking two weeks to departure.. Second, the co-op rules on moving in Manhattan could not have been more restrictive, and there were no complaints -- from Jimmy's crew or ... the co-op board. The Crew arrived in Buffalo within one hour of their anticipated time -- quite something for a six hour drive, you have to admit. The move-in went very smoothly. They worked with the building rules there, moved everything in with minimal disruption of other tenants, assembled what furniture needed to be reassembled -- all within a matter of hours. It was amazing. Bottomline, if you are looking at a difficult move and want to hire a crew that sees what you're up against and is willing to help and work with you, these are the guys.

Not only was this the lowest price of three bids, but here we worked with the owner/operator - no salesmen, no big company. Questions and details answered by Jimmy himself. Instantaneous response by email and texting. No frills, just a very efficient operation. Offered "mayday" service if we would have needed last minute packing help -- we didn't, but it was good to have this available. Clean, good equipment, excellent worker-team that did the moving, didn't leave us at our destination until everything was set up as we wanted it. This is a straight-talking, basic, high-quality service -- no frills, which means you don't get stuff you don't need. But you do get very competent, careful, detail oriented, hard woking crew and an owner who knows his stuff. I would recommend Jimmy to anyone. (Note: this was a good-sized move, from a house in Westchester to an apartment in Riverdale (Bronx), all done in one day, began and 8:30, finished at 5:30.)

Jimmy came on time, loaded quickly, knows the folks running the Sharehouse, generally excellent job all around.

Jimmy and his crew were very efficient and easy to deal with. There were three movers in addition to Jimmy and they worked very quickly and were well organized--it all went well without any problems.

Excellent, not the cheapest option but a professional and careful service. Even major road works outside my new apartment did not phase them.
