A Man With a Van & More!, Inc.

A Man with a Van and More provided us with an outstanding and professional move from a storage unit to our house. We had a 10' x 30' x 8' storage unit that was approximately two-thirds full. The moving crew arrived 15 minutes early, wrapped furniture that had previously not been protected, diligently moved our goods onto the truck, and did this within a span of about three hours. After arriving at our house, about 45-minutes away, the crew started moving our items. We had just had the majority of the interior painted and we were very concerned about the movers damaging walls and ceilings. We shortly realized just how professional the crew actually was. We directed the guys in the crew where to place our goods and they quickly, but carefully did so, without a scratch or scuff on any wall or ceiling. We were completely blown away by the level of service and attention to detail the crew had for our belongings and our freshly painted walls and ceilings. Jimmy and his moving crew were punctual, efficient, and completely understanding of our needs. This was the best, most professional move we've ever had. I would recommend A Man with a Van and More to anyone. These guys are great !!!

Jim was very responsive, scheduling the move within a day. His crew was professional and careful. Although the rubbel at the condominium was not what was expected, Jim completed the job without a hitch.

Jim was very responsive and his service was as promised. He was on time, careful, and handled my piano as if it were his own. I am very pleased with the service.

Overall, we were very satisfied, although the move out day was longer than we all expected, 9 am to 7 pm. We believe it was because one of the team members was not working that day. But, the three men who did the loading and some of the packing worked virtually every minute. They also had to dismantle more items that we expected to fit into the truck. That may have also cost more time than expected. We were so impressed by their courteousness and care about our items, we want to be sure to stress that this was the most important aspect of the job. The next day unloading in Albany was a breeze (comparably). They came with a full team of four at 9:00 am after leaving Westchester County by 6:00 am and completed unloading at the apartment, which included assembly of the furniture and other items, shortly after 1:00 pm and then more unloading at storage. All was completed by 2:30 pm! Whew.

Very careful and professional. Jim and his staff of three arrived early and really hustled; the ground-floor apartment was cleared in about two and a half hours.

A fabulous experience from start to finish. Let's start with my first contact with Jimmy which was by email and then by phone. He responded immediately to my initial email, asking for a quote, and when we contracted for the work, gave me his cell phone number so that I could always reach him. The few times that I called, he answered immediately, and that's already a big positive in my book. When I needed to push back the date he accommodated me, and when the actual move took place in between snow events, his guys did everything they could to make the move go smoothly. For example, they helped the trailer guy chop ice and spread rock salt to back the trailer down my long and winding driveway; they shoveled and mopped up water in my garage so things wouldn't get so wet; they went out of their way to repack things they thought were not well enough protected; they worked hard but were friendly, upbeat, and communicative. They were also thoughtful and skillful about how they packed the trailer, something I really appreciated. I recommend this company without reservation, and will use them again when I do my next move. I got to them through Angie's List and can say without hesitation that they were as good as everyone said.

Workers were prompt, helpful , careful and on time. Job took about three hours start to finish.

All worked at each end as coordinated both in NYC and Nashville - with storage for a week in between locations.

I highly recommend "A Man With a Van & More Inc." for piano moving services. I called on Dec. 30 and the lady who answered the phone mentioned that Jimmy was out but he would get back to me. He did via text and requested me to send details of the move so he could give me a price. The details included the following: piano dimensions, pick up and destination locations and number of steps involved in each location. He initially quoted $400 but sent a follow up E-mail reducing it to $300 when he realized that he had made a mistake. On the day of the move, Jimmy and his team of two men arrived at the seller's location on time. They rolled the piano to the garage, wrapped it in plastic and thick cloth and loaded it into their van. Upon arrival at our home, they unloaded the piano and lifted it over several steps onto the path to our front door. Once at the front door, they lifted it up a few steps and had to maneuver within a tight "L" space between the front door and the stair railing. This was the most challenging part of the job. Heavy lifting, turning corners and coordination was involved and they did great. Once inside, they unwrapped the plastic and the cloth and ensured that the piano was placed where we wanted it. The move was smooth and the piano was protected the entire time. Again, thank you to Jimmy and his team for the great job and professionalism. Cheers!

Absolutely wonderful service. James was professional, courteous and a pleasure to deal with. His crew was amazing. They arrived on time (actually a few minutes early), were extremely careful with our belongs and couldn't have been nicer. They worked diligently even politely refusing to stop for the coffee I offered them. I am very grateful to James and his awesome crew for making our moving experience (which we were dreading) so easy and actually enjoyable. I highly recommend them.

Went well, we were quoted a price after filling out a questionnaire regarding the scope , size, and items for our move. We did not list all items that were to be moved, Jimmy had to charge us an additional amount to move all of the items we did not list, the additional charge was reasonable. You need to be detailed and specific when it comes to the questionnaire in order to get an accurate quote. Jimmy was very flexible, and his guys worked hard. The crew arrived on time, worked straight through, performed professionally.

Team showed up early, worked quickly, and the entire job was done in 2 hours. It was excellent work and I could not have been happier.

Jimmy was great to deal with through my entire move. He was super responsive from Day 1 offering up several options to match whatever budget I was looking for. To have his crew move my things across the country on a single truck was a bit more expensive than others, but everything got there without anything lost or broken! From the owner Jimmy to the men who both packed and moved me , they were responsive, responsible and extremely careful with the packing and moving of my possessions. In addition to competing the job on time and efficiently, I was impressed with how long each of the employees has been with the company. To me that say a lot about how a business is run. Found James on Angie's List when looking for a moving company to help me move many pieces of furniture from my family home after the death of my mother and her sister. He called me back instantly and arranged his schedule to meet me, since I had to travel from MD to NY to make the arrangements. He considered my schedule when setting up the delivery, met us right on time on the appointed day. Movers were meticulous in packing everything. Everything from start to finish was smooth and everyone we dealt with, from James to each of his movers, were professional, pleasant and very easy to work with. Thank you for helping me handle this very difficult task!

This was actually the second I've worked with Jimmy. He originally moved me into the storage rooms when we downsized homes. He is Westy Storage's preferred mover so that should tell you something right off the bat. He has been present on both jobs and even though they were almost 2 years apart, he had several of the same guys on his crew. To me that says he treats his employees well and they like working for him - which they do. They took great care loading what was an honestly pretty mess storage room complete with furniture, boxes, a glass wall system for my office and my baby grand piano. He was incredibly responsive and was able to get the job done exactly when I needed it done and for what I thought was a very fair price. Would highly recommend them.

What can I say? Jimmy and his crew made one of life's more stressful activities almost enjoyable. I would definitely use them again. They showed up on time, did exactly what was necessary and came in bang on budget with no unexpected extra charges. His guys were friendly, polite and professional. They worked hard and didn't stop until I was totally happy with everything. I would definitely use them again.

I wish I could say it went well on my part...if I were easy...or it were an "easy move", then this rating wouldn't be so interesting! First, Jimmy contacted me immediately and was so incredibly accommodating with my tight and short schedule. He was readily accessible, prompt and friendly. The day of the move, my furniture was less than gracious in almost inhabitable move in conditions. Jimmy and his crew were beyond professional, worked above and beyond to get all of my oversized furniture (think square peg- round circle) into their rightful places. I really can't thank he and his workers enough for their dedication.

The move went very well. The guys showed up on time and worked very hard. They were polite and careful with all of my items. I have many antiques and had no problems at all. They also assembled beds and put all major pieces in the designated rooms. I have only great things to say about this company and nothing negative at all. I would most definitely use this moving company again in the future. I would also like to add that there was never any price increase or "add on" prices which I know many companies tend to do.

I've done 11 moves in my career and this has started out as one of the best we've had. Davey's crew worked hard for 5 days wrapping, boxing, taping and loading household goods from our Stamford residence. They were very easy to work with, very responsive and very careful of our possessions, furniture, breakables and fragile items. They worked hard to make the first half of our move a good experience for us. Moving is never enjoyable, but they went the extra mile to give us the confidence that the pack-out and loading process were done in a professional manner. One of the loading days was rainy and they worked to keep our items from getting wet as they were loading the trailer. We didn't have a destination address, so the owner, Jimmy Consaga, worked with the shipper to provide us a month's storage in our destination city. Hopefully we will have a new address soon and can see our household goods come off the trailers. Our thanks to Davey and his two other crew members, Maritzio and Ernesto. They had been packing together for 10 years and worked very well together. I've told Jimmy I want to see them on the other end when it's time to unload!! Update as of 2/2/15: Everything was unpacked properly. I was very happy with the crew...they are excellent and easy to deal with!
