Description of Work: We had Jimmy and his crew pack us in April and move us into storage. They were excellent. We moved into a house five months later and they unpacked our storage bins and moved us into a house over a three day period. They are excellent. The way they packed our possessions was meticulous. Jimmy's crew is a pleasure to work with. They are professional, courteous, very hard working and really know what they are doing both with wrapping furniture and fragile items. While moving can be stressful, this crew makes so helps by remaining calm and keeping a smile on their face. I would highly recommend this company for your next move!

Description of Work: They moved us fairly efficiently, and with a last minute reservation. David was the head of our crew, and he was awesome. There were three other people on the crew, and the owner stopped by a few times. We moved from a three bedroom apartment to a three story house, the move took one day (8am to 6pm). | |However one already partially damaged lamp did end up completely broken, and it was unclear to us if we needed to disassemble our IKEA bed frame or if they would take it apart for us, despite asking several times for clarification (it ended up being a joint effort). The van also got stuck leaving the driveway of our previous apartment, which ended up extending the day by at least an hour - so the end of the day was pretty rushed.

Description of Work: Great job. I hired the tomography me for a townhouse into a 3 story house across county. They arrived on time and got right to work. I wasn't as packed as I thought I was but they were flexible and very helpful in getting as much In the truck as possible. When they needed more space they made a quick call and the owner brought an additional van by to move the rest. No hidden fees, no gimmicks. A flat rate quoted before the job. They brought 5 guys to help speed the moving along. Hint to future customers. Complete the online estimate carefully, that is the list they bring to the house and what is used to estimate the truck size needed. Overall a good experience. I would hire them again.

Description of Work: We had a VERY positive experience with James and his professional team of movers (coming off of a terrible experience with another company in a recent, local move)! They were on time for pick-up and delivery, were efficient and extremely careful packing/moving several antique pieces of furniture. They ended up moving additional items that I hadn't anticipated or listed. We will definitely use James and his team again!

Description of Work: Jim's crew of 3 guys had to load close to 100 boxes that we packed ourselves. The furniture was only a bedroom set, two couches and small items. They were extremely professional. We had to unload our stuff in a self storage. They managed to pack everything into a 10x15 unit. We had to move the date by 3 days, but Jim was able to accommodate us. We could not ask for a better moving service and already have recommended his company to the real estate broker who sold our house. She said she would start recommending Jim's service instead of the service that she was recommending before. Again, Jim, thank you. Sorry it took us longer than we anticipated with all the moving we had to do.

They arrived on time, they packed up my art with care and respect, they were gracious, focused and attentive. The entire move was done as effectively as i could imagine. Description of Work: Jimmy is the type of professional that any homeowner wishes to deal with in terms of responsiveness, flexibility and total care in a move. Prior to our move, I selected Jimmy based upon his previous credentials on Angie's List and asked that he visit to review our belongings and give an estimate. He came the next day.The move (local) involved many antiques and a professional grade baby grand piano.Given the value of our belongings, my wife additionally asked Jimmy to come by again to re-review what he/I had discussed. He obliged w/o hesitation and satisfied my wife's concerns & questions.We had packed all belongings in boxes we provided except the furniture pieces prior to the move for ease at moving and a lower price. Additionally, we moved our clothing and wall hangings ourselves prior to the move. All furniture and appliances were disassembled & reassembled properly by the crew.Our previous house was 2800 sq ft (3 floors plus basement) in size and I found the quoted (and identical to the final) price to be fair & reasonable.His team was courteous and responsive. I simply directed them to the room in the new house where the furniture & boxes should be placed. They also were kind enough to exchange rooms (including an attic) for a few mis-labeled boxes that needed to be redirected w/o any remark except a smile.The piano was successfully moved and placed to our exact position. I sat on the piano bench while 6 crew members held aloft the piano to slightly adjust its final position.No damage happened in the course of the move to any of our belongings nor to either the prior or new house structures.I've never seen a crew work as hard as they did on a very warm & humid day. They took no breaks except one stop for drinks & snacks (they are entirely a Ritz cracker crowd - who knew?) while traveling between locations.They started at 8am on time and, based upon their own decision, completed the move at 9:30pm. One day vs. two. Great for us.They were amazing.

Description of Work: I have moved many times in my life, and A Man with A Van is the best moving company I have ever used. Jimmy was very prompt with his communications. He stuck by his price quote. His moving crew was very cordial, hardworking, and respectful of our goods and home. One of his crew members just had a tooth extraction and still came to work for my move! I moved the contents of a 2 bedroom apartment into a 4 bedroom colonial single family home. It was a little bit of a different situation as all my goods were in my parents garage, stacked up since I had moved in summer with a different company (who I wasn't fond of). I finally closed on my new house this winter, and needed movers to help me move my goods from that garage into my new place. I hired A Man with a Van because of their stellar reputation on Angie's List. I did make sure to lay Roslin paper all over my new home's hardwood floors as it was snowing the day of the move. Despite that, I didn't see any damage to my floors or walls. I would hire A Man with a Van in a heartbeat if I had to move anything again.

In addition, on the day of the move, he went to a storage facility in our area to get approximately 50 boxes that we needed to take to Florida in addition to the contents of our home. He provided us with moving supplies ($250.00). In addition, it was necessary for him to store our belongings for two days as we did not close on our new home until two days after the closing on the home we sold ($300.) The move was from central New Jersey to Cape Coral Florida ($6200.). 15. How did it go overall? Tell us the story from start to finish (10,000 character limit): From the very beginning, Jimmy was very communicative. He contacted us and came to our home to give us an estimate within two days of my call. Our move was complicated as we decided not to take most of our furniture to FL and I was unable to donate it through a variety of charities. Jimmy charged us $600. to take the furniture and make sure it got to people in need as it was important to me that it did not wind up in a landfill. I felt these charges were very reasonable as there was quite a bit of furniture and some of the pieces were solid cherry and very heavy. The guys came to my home to get the furniture and were done within an hour. At the time of the estimate Jimmy dropped off the items for packing and provided me with more than enough (I was able to left over supplies to my daughter who is also moving, but Jimmy would have taken them back and credited me for the supplies I did not need.) I felt the fee of $250. was more than reasonable as it also include three large wardrobe boxes. We were prepared to go to our storage unit ourselves to move the 50 boxes we had in storage back to our home for the day of the move. The storage facility was in the town in which we lived and Jimmy stated it would be no problem for him and his guys to go to the unit and pick up the boxes. We were so grateful, especially as we got closer to moving day we realized how much we had to finish and going to storage and moving all those boxes back to the house was a stress we did not need. Jimmy communicated with me through email and text messages throughout our move which was very reassuring for me. All of our belongings arrived in Florida in excellent condition. Jimmy's guys are very hard working and it was a pleasure working with all of them. I would highly recommend Jimmy (A Man with a Van and More) for those wishing to have their moving services customized to meet their needs. Jimmy is reassuring and highly professional. Moving is a stressful experience but Jimmy made the moving of our belongings stress free.

Description of Work: Packed, moved and unpacked my 4,000 sq ft hoe with outdoor furniture and put 1/2 into a storage space of a friend they voluntarily cleaned out and organized ! Jimmy and his team OVER delivered in what i thought was possible for a moving company. After we initially met for the estimate, he was always responsive to my questions, thorough, very detail oriented. He knew what a stress moving is and made me feel I was in god hands. The 3 days of packing and moving/ unpacking couldn't have gone more smoothly. The team members were kind, careful, also very detail oriented (asking the right questions, pointing out where there already existed a crack or paint chip on something etc etc) Worked hard, met schedules, were helpful and easy to work with. Description of Work: Price quote was very high $400 just to move a single futon, table (32x11x12) and mini trampoline 38" diameter across Manhattan to and from elevator buildings. At this price I can get a friend and get a U-Haul. Insanely expensive.
