The whole experience with this Company was wonderful. I phoned a few times before our installation date with a question or two and they either answered right away or got right back to me. The estimate given was the estimate charged. Would recommend them to friends and family.

Excellent work from beginning to end. Even reworked the old trellis to fit new deck. Had 3 estimates and Shafer's was lowest price with a much studier build deck. I just wish a lot of the deck boards were not installed with the ink stampings visable but that may have been due to grain or crown issues---I did not ask. This is a family run business and comes highly recommended by friends. I second that and highly recommend them.

I was originally planning on building the deck myself with help from friends. On a whim I called this company because I pass them everyday on the way to work but thought they only did sheds and barns. I noticed on their sign they did decks. I dealt with Tom Shafer from the start. I needed the job done fast for delivery of the new spa. Tom knew immediately what I was looking to do because he also has a spa on a deck. I gave him the space dimensions and brief description of the site. He promptly called me back that day. He could schedule the job to be done within one week. He gave me a detailed descrption of his design and materials proposal. I almost dropped the phone with surprise when he gave me the price because I was expecting a significantly higher price based on my estimate for materials alone, let alone labor costs. A few days later I stopped by and he showed me the design sketch. I approved and he ordered the lumber. He said his crew would be there at 7:30am to start and may take two days to complete due to weather. The day arrived. The first truck arrived at 7:30am and two others at 7:40am. Tom supervised a crew of three men. They all wore similar and proper work attire that looked professional. They promptly started and took caution not to rip up the lawn and placed wood sheeting on my grass to support the Bobcat while it moved around. They had the footers dug and framework ready by mid morning. They took a 30 minute lunch break in my yard. The entire deck was completed and site cleaned up nicely before 4pm. All the materials were of premium quality with no crappy pieces of lumber. These guys really know what they’re doing. Couldn’t have had a better experience with a contractor
