GREEN DESIRE LANDSCAPING AND MASONRY TREE SERVICE

Got a call back a few days after I had called, I wasn't expecting them to call since I hadn't heard from them. Made an appointment for two weeks later on a Saturday @2pm. They never showed, never called. Why would a business on Angie's list not show? Reviews are so important I would think. Last thing I want to do is sit around my house on a nice Saturday waiting for a no show.

Chris, the owner, was very professional throughout the job. He came down in price to match another quote I had gotten and performed all the work as promised. He even added some nice touches to the new walkway and steps. The work promptly started even though the spring started off with some severe cold weather. A little minor clean up left which Chris assured us will be done soon along with some seeding in areas where the new walkway was constructed. Chris was a stand up guy who committed to a lower price, stuck with that price and he and his crew did an exemplary job. I will certainly call him for future jobs.

Chris was very nice and seemed like he would do a very good job. He arrived promptly, he was professional and gave me a very detailed and professional estimate. His estimate for the job may have been a fair price, but it was just more money than I wanted to spend so I decided not to do the work. But I would consider him in the future if I decide I do want to change my landscaping.

Chris was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the work needed to be done to our trees. Communication was excellent and job performance was superb. They showed up on the date promised, trimmed are large trees and removed the debris. Highly recommend. We will be using them on a continual basis for additional landscaping needs.

I cannot say enough about this AMAZING company. After Hurricane Sandy we had a very large tree downed at our new home in Ardsley, NY. We were not yet moved in and have been given the run around by a number of tree companies. I called Green Desire on Sunday November 11th and explained my situation to Chris - that a very old tree fell on our land, across 2 driveways and over our roofers trailer that was left on our property during the storm. I was very concerned about the neighbors not being able to get out of their drive, the roofers not being able to remove their trailer from under the tree and a large branch hanging suspended from a tree that the down tree hit on the way down. My neighbors have small children so I saw this as a big danger. Chris and his brother Tony said that they would go by the house to assess the situation THAT SAME DAY - SUNDAY as he understood my sense of urgency with above stated facts. Green Desire went and assessed the situation on Sunday, started to clean up and came back the next morning, Monday, at 7AM with their team and the proper equipment to take care of everything. By noon on Monday they had cut up and removed the large tree clearing the neighbors drive and all of the debris off of the roofers trailer, they cut down the dangerous tree branch, removed the tree in its entirety off of our property and literally left the yard COMPLETELY free of ALL of the debris from the tree fall. We asked about an estimate for some of the damage caused by the storm and Chris emailed it to me THAT NIGHT. They are aces in my book and we will be working with them from here on for many projects outside our new home. I am very thankful for finding Green Desire as they really put our mind at ease during a stressful time, worked quickly, efficiently and effectively.

Went well. They came at the time agreed upon and were extremely professional.

Tony came out on schedule to discuss our options. With the tree so close to the house and no way to get a crane in we were concerned about damage to the roof and house. Tony assured us that his crew could take it down without a problem. Tony and crew showed up on time ready to go. With incredible precision the tree was taken down piece by piece without incident. He and his crew, especially the young man in the tree, are skilled and professional. I and a few neighbors watched in awe as this massive tree was slowly reduced to a stump. I didn't have much of a lawn is was mostly weeds and bare ground. Tony added top soil and reseeded the lawn. Within two weeks new grass was already coming up. The spring will show the final results but it looks promising already. bu

Chris came by on the time agreed upon, and gave an estimate. (I wasn't completely thrilled with the price, but the fact that I'm always looking for a deal, this IS Westchester County, this estimate was on the lower end of multiple estimates, and the fact that Chris CLEARLY knew what he was talking about sold me.) ...The work was done lightning fast, and Chris even gave a solution to an obstacle that was clearly better than my suggestions. ...Overall, a great experience.

Chris was at our house finishing another job and we asked him about a tree in our front yard. He sent his brother Tony, a tree expert, out. They told us it was dead and should come down and gave us a very competitive estimate for the work. Tony and a helper came out a couple of days later and in a matter of hours the tree was down and cleared out of the yard. All in all, we're very pleased.

Our yard hadn't been tended to in several weeks and was in need of work. I called Green Desire and they got back in touch with me the same day. They set up a time for Chris to come out and do a walk around and estimate of how much it would cost to do the initial clean up of our property. Chris did a great job explaining what they could do, giving a nice balance of recommendations and suggestions without pressuring me to do more than what I wanted or needed. He sent an estimate via email quickly. I let him know we wanted to go with Green Desire (late Friday) and they sent out a crew bright and early Monday morning. The crew did a great job cleaning up the property and hauling away the yard waste. The workers were friendly, courteous, and hard-working. We're going to have Green Desire do weekly maintenance on our yard.

Chris and his team were a pleasure to work with. The quote was good, he made useful suggestions (we did some of them) and prioritized what needed to happen sooner rather than later. Work was done to a high standard and quickly. Chris ans his guys were very professional. Would very highly recommend and we definitely plan to use Chris in the future.

My wife and I had just put on an addition, and we had to excavate our yard to make room. After the job was done we were left with a mess of a yard. We had water issues, erosion, and silt run off into the road. I was informed that we needed to fix it due to the issues it cause with the silt in the road. We used Angie's list in the past so we went that route again. We found green desire and another company. Both companies came and looked at the job Chris from green desire was far more knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done. He then sent me a proposal for the job broken down into all the jobs that needed to be done and the cost of each. He was willing to work with us on price and didn't push any job we didn't feel we needed. They showed up a few days later and worked diligently for two day and got all the work done. The excavating and tilling took most of the time but they didn't mind because they wanted it done right. The erosion areas on the hill were filled and graded. After seed, hay, and fertilizer was spread on the hill and flat areas Then the erosion blanket was rolled out on the hill and anchored. It is now a week later and the hill is holding well the grass is growing and the silt is not an issue anymore. There was one issue with the work, but they came back and fixed it without a problem.

We called Chris, owner of Green Desires, on a Friday -- we left a message asking that someone come out to give us an estimate on creating a rock garden in a heavily-overgrown parcel of our backyard. (I called Chris/Green Desires simply because he was the top-ranked landscaper on Angie's List -- a reputation that is most assuredly deserved, as you'll see by our experience related below.) The following Monday Chris called and arranged to come out that afternoon to look at the job site. I was the only one home at the time, but I thought I could get some initial thoughts and a rough estimate. His suggestions for design, plantings, and materials were brilliant -- much better than the inarticulate "we want something pretty" feelings we were trying to communicate. Chris then sent me (via email) a number of websites featuring the types of plantings he thought would work for us. My wife and I discussed them and then gave him our feedback. On Tuesday (of the same week!), Chris came back to our house to describe his ideas to my wife as well. Her reaction was as enthusiastic as mine, so we arrived at an agreed-upon cost and signed the contract by Wednesday. On Thursday, Chris started dropping off a number of the larger plantings in our yard. Friday morning (only seven days after I left my initial message on his machine), Chris, his crew, and a large Bobcat showed up early in the morning and did the entire job in one day. There was an enormous amount of deadwood and brush generated from this job, and it would have been easy for someone else to have just dumped it all in the heavily-forested areas around our yard -- but Chris had it all bundled up, loaded on his truck, and carted off. Please note that all of this was accomplished in a single day. But wait, there's more -- Saturday morning my wife and I went out to survey the new rock garden. As it often happens, we had a few second thoughts about placement of some of the rocks and plants. We emailed Chris that day (hesitantly, because we feared we were asking too much) -- and he emailed us back that his goal was to make us happy with the final job. That Monday morning Chris was back with his crew and, in the course of several hours, made the changes we wanted. He also suggested a few of his own, which we enthusiastically accepted. The job came in precisely at what our initial quote was. The entire process -- which we had thought would take several weeks -- was, in toto, ten days: from the Friday when I called and left the message, through the next week, and up to Monday when he rejiggered the project according to our second thoughts. Having worked with many contractors in the past, I am awestruck at the amazing professionalism, work ethic, and speed of Chris and Green Desires. Finally -- this amazing experience would never have happened without Angie's List. My wife and I will never use any other source for recommendations again.

Chris who is the owner does get back to you right away, he explains everything to you that needs to be done and is very fair.

Overall experience was positive. The job started late due to heavy rains, and then went a little long due to some extremely hot days. All of the workers were total professionals and very skilled. Chris was always in communication throughout the project. We're very happy with the results and I've already seen him doing more work in the neighborhood. We had an excellent experience with Green Desire from the start. Our phone call was answered by one of the owners who was courteous and knowledgeable. He explained that tree services were handled by Tony and he would have Tony call us back in a few minutes. Within 10 minutes Tony called and we set up an appointment for him to come to the house and give us an estimate. He came the next day right on time and spent a great deal of time with us. He had us walk him around the property and explain what we wanted done. He listened carefully to what we wanted, was quite knowledgeable and offered ideas and advice when appropriate. He then took some time to walk around the property by himself and came back a few minutes later with an estimate. His estimate was very fair. The hemlocks and bushes needed a great deal of work and he would need to spend at least a day and a half on the job. Tony came on time to start work and had two men with him. They spent the entire first day working on the hemlocks. By the end of the day the hemlocks were finished and looked terrific. I was really impressed by how hard they worked and how important it was for them to do a quality job. They did not rush the work and took great care to be sure it was done the right way. The following day they were back on time and finished up the rest of the bushes and shrubs - again working extremely hard taking great care to to quality work. We were impressed by their professionalism and concern to do a good job. I look forward to using Green Desire for future projects.

Never happened couldn't get a response

He was great, he was very knowledgeable. We probably would have went with him but we are getting married ina couple of months so we decided to save the money. He's a great guy.

Overall they did great work for a fair price and in a reasonable amount of time. Chris came by on a Sunday morning to give us a free estimate and it was obvious that he was both experienced and knowledgeable. The work itself took a little over a week but I am confident it would have been finished sooner if not for the few days of rain. The final price came in exactly as expected. We plan on using Green Desire again for some plantings and other yard and stone work.

We made an appointment for an estimate and noone called or showed up.

The quote was two times less than anyone else's was. They did a perfect job. I like them a lot. The communication was great. The guy who came out, his name was Chris. He was such a nice guy. He was punctual and very pleasant. He did the best job ever. He worked with the team. He worked with his team everyday there. He was one of the best experience I ever had.

They are a very good. We are very happy with them. The owner is very personable and very cool, nice guy.

I quit using them because it was too expensive. I will not use them again in the future.

When I called to make an appointment, I left a message, and was promptly called back. Chris came out to my house on time and after I was given an estimate, made a start date for the following week. They came and worked non-stop for two days, and were polite, courteous, and hard working. I was extremely pleased with the service and would use them again.
