Chris gave me a quote and explained what needed to be done. He had one of his workers come. I had to go to work. When I got home I was pleased to see that the work was complete. All the bricks blended in. I also got my 10% discount!

Chris was super nice, came over with one of his guys, talked for an hour, had some great ideas, was supposed to come back the next day to measure and then send us a quote. Not sure if he came back the next day but we definitely never received a quote, I left a message about two weeks later asking for the quote and never heard back. So unprofessional and why waste both of our times to come and then not send a quote? Guess I should have read the reviews on here a little better first!

Price was in the ballpark of other estimates, we were able to use an Angies List coupon. Chris and his crew began work immediately and were completed and cleaned up within the estimated time frame we were provided with. Paver stones look great, we're very happy with our choice. We will use Chris for future work.

Chris was very responsive from the beginning to the end of the project. He prepared a professional 2 page proposal of the project which answered all my questions.I asked 3 other contractors for a proposal and none provided as much detail in such a timely manner. I was also pleased to see an example of the finished product in the proposal. Work commenced quickly after the proposal was accepted. The project took 3 days and turned out beyond my expectation. It was a pleasure to deal with this outfit.

Our main contact was with Chris throughout the whole process. He did an excellent design for us, listening to our thoughts and wishes and incorporating those into the design. His team showed up when they were supposed to, and constantly work hard to complete the project in a very timely manner. They were very neat, removing all debris and leaving the work site cleaner than when they showed up.

So far they have built patios, walls, and stairways for us. Great work, good price and the work was done quickly. It was done when they said it would be done. Recommend .

I had just received an estimate from an handyman contractor, for the installation of a some fencing. He expressed concerns about locating recently installed gas lines between my propane tanks and a generator. It was going to be necessary to weed-whack the area. Although not critical, yet, I decided that light pruning, weeding and weed-whacking of the entire property was in order. Because I was satisfied with my first experience, I called Green Desire a second time. Chris asked if Saturday would be okay. I said that it would be okay, but that Tuesday would be better, because of the scheduled handyman job. Once again, he was accommodating and scheduled a Tuesday afternoon appointment for me. Between noon and 4:45, I did receive one return phone call, to indicate that they would be there "soon," but that turned-out to be nearly five hours later. I would have appreciated a heads-up or a narrower window, but I was glad that they would be doing the job that day. Consistent with my first experience, the workers were courteous, respectful and efficient.

At the beginning, it was necessary to make several phone calls and leave several messages, before anyone got back to me. As a last resort, before giving up, I sent an e-mail, stating that I was assuming that they were not interested in my business. The e-mail resulted in an immediate callback. Chris performed the estimate and demonstrated knowledge about the various species of plants and trees on the property, as well as the correct protocol for each of the functions that I was requesting. Although slightly higher than I had paid other service providers, he was flexible and accommodating with his pricing. In addition, he explained that I would be paying for the workers' time, not just a limited list of well-defined functions. In other words, he said, "If you need them to wash your car, they'll do that, too!" On the scheduled day, the workers arrived a little later than promised, but worked tirelessly, despite the debilitating hot and humid weather conditions. They were courteous, respectful and appeared to have a sincere "desire" to make sure that I was satisfied. I think the respect and courtesy were the most outstanding aspects of the experience. Many contractors are rigid and know only one way to do things; offering responses like: "That's not the way it is done," "No, you are supposed to ...," or saying "yes," but ignoring the requests and doing the opposite. The Green Desire contrast was refreshing.

This was a major project lasting many months from conception, to town approval, to implementation. I had actually given up on my hopes to expand my driveway after a year's quest to get town approval resulted in a formidable price tag. I read great reviews of Green Desire on Angie's list and when Chris showed up to quote me a price on my walkway, he suggested we consider redoing our driveway and path in a way that solved our problems and could be cost efficient. Chris had the experience to know that we could make changes where others said we could not. He was able to make practical recommendations while also considering what would look best. Chris remained a support and accessible contact, working alongside our architect, for many months while we sought town approval. He had the knowledge and skill to engage confidently with others, and the patience and savvy to know how to negotiate concerns. Chris and his colleagues worked long days to get the job done, but also cared about the aesthetics of the work and their reputation. They were easy to work with and offered a fare price for their labor. In the end, Chris provided us with a beautiful walkway of his own design. He implemented the driveway under the scrutiny of multiple inspectors who told me they were impressed with the job and felt he had exceeded their expectations. During the time it took for the project to be implemented, I took such a liking to Green Desire that I entrusted them with other work and now they also take care of my trees, lawn and will follow up soon with landscaping. They are skilled, knowledgeable, hardworking and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

We received the estimate on Friday, August 30th right before the Labor Day holiday weekend. We agreed on the price and to our delight, we were told that they would be able to complete the job by the next day. Indeed, two men showed up with a truck filled with equipment to complete the job Saturday afternoon, despite it being the Labor Day holiday. They sought clarification from us on the location of the property lines and then got to work. They double mowed to ensure a good clean result and edged around the entire property. Then they used blowers to blow the excess clippings off the grass which was necessary to ensure the lawn didn't die. They were fast, professional and diligent. It also merits mention that it was a pleasure being able to communicate with the vendor via text messaging. The response rate was very fast. They offer an array of great services that we are considering using after this experience.

After having our underground fuel tank removed, we had to have the front walk and steps to our home repaired. Old, overgrown and plain old ugly trees and shrubs in the front and on the side of our house that was visible on the approach to our home, bothered us as well -- we wanted the area to be beautiful and peaceful. We had walk-throughs and estimates from a contractor who had done work for us in years past, as well as another who was recommended by our neighbors. Both were professional and courteous, but not really inspiring. One thought that he should just trim back the bushes and freshen up the mulch, maybe put in a few new plants (and asked me to go pick out what I wanted, write down the name, and they'd supply them). Another told me at the end of our walk through the property that they didn't really "do" stone work and I needed to call another contractor for that part of the job. Sigh. I saw Green Desire's reviews on Angie's List and after a brief email exchange, Chris came over with one of his stone masons to take a look at what we wanted done. He got it immediately -- had loads of great ideas -- and instead of standing with me, waving his hand at what needed/could be done, he got his orange spray paint and drew lines and circles in the area we were discussing, showing where big rocks could be moved, how he'd lay out the new landing for the walkway, where trees and bushes would go, etc. It took Chris maybe 2 days to follow through with a detailed proposal that included pictures of the plants and trees he was suggesting we install. We needed to bring the final cost to $10K and he was great about showing what we could do later, always mindful of the 'big picture.' It was a pleasure to work with Green Desire. It's obvious that Chris loves what he does and has a great eye for the big and the small touches. The crew was courteous, clean and professional (and nice to my dog!). The job was done on time, and My husband, who has been fired BY landscapers in the past because he is so picky, is as thrilled as I am with Green Desire's work.

Waited one week to get an estimate. Told Chris we were interested in hiring him. We had to wait another week for lawn clean up. Call the day before to confirm Saturday appointment. Office said there was no appointment in schedule. Chris said job will be done the next day which was a Sunday. Chris sent a text that the workers did not show up. All of his communication was through text messaging. He did not try to make any accommodations for us after desperately waiting two weeks to have our property cleaned up. Did not even contact us to arrange something for the next morning. Very irresponsible and unprofessional. Will not use or recommend to anyone.

This is the second year we have used Green Desire Landscaping and, once again, we are very happy with their work. Just as last year, I was able to speak with someone the day I called. We talked about what needed to be done on the phone and set up an appointment for Tony (one of the owners) to come out and give us an estimate. On the day of the appointment, Tony and I walked around the property together to discuss the work. I was again impressed with Tony's knowledge and professionalism. Tony was able to give me an estimate that same day and work began a few days later. The job went exactly as discussed. The crew was polite, knowledgeable and careful. Tony was here much of the time to help with the work and oversee his crew. When they left the property looked beautiful. Tony is easy to work with, understands what needs to be done, and cares about the quality of his work. We have another large job coming up and Tony has already given me an estimate. My husband and I look forward to working with Green Desire for our next project and for many projects to come.

Things started out great; they answered our initial service call and sent a guy to see the yard promptly. He estimated that 8-10 hours @ $105/hr would be needed and that the flat fee of the "clean up" service was a better deal than charging for every item that we wanted to do. In the end they worked closer to 15 hrs which was more than we originally budgeted for. We also had a miscommunication regarding what would be removed from the site as some items were left behind that we thought would be taken. Very long story short, they did excellent work and the yard looks amazing but they REALLY need to work on their communication. We had a series of miscommunications, some of which where not helped by the fact that they did not answer the phone or respond to email in a timely fashion, and some could have been avoided if they had taken the time to explain the work, the costs, and the potential hiccups in detail before doing the work and if we had known to ask more questions. Would I use them again? Probably, but only if I ask them to explain everything carefully before they do anything.

Seemed very professional and gave me a reasonably good price but never showed up on the scheduled day and never called. I called him and he apologized, said he wasn't feeling well and that he would be there the next day. He never showed up that day either and I have never heard from him since.

I was pleased with their work however displeased with their professionalism. They said that they were going to be here on Tuesday but they did not show up even on Wednesday and Thursday when they said that they would. On Friday, they eventually showed up. They did not let me know that they were not coming. They ended clearing up half down to the lake so they were efficient and I have quite a bit of foliage outside and they created a path and it was hard. So, I was very impressed because they created it from scratch. They chose a very direct path to the lake on their own. It is very straight and it is up and down the hill, so to find that in all these woods was really impressive. I just gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to use them for my lawn care but they still did the same hit and miss in coming.

Right now I do have an estimate from him, we're still working on possibly getting the pricing down a little bit but I have a strong feeling he probably will do the work and if he does, I would be more than happy to post a review. He's very creative, Chris, the owner is very creative, he represented that we keep what we currently have and just reset it, he's not looking to boost the price up, he thought what we already have could be reused so that was his recommendation so I had a nice feeling that he wasn't looking just to sell us and sell us and sells us and the price would be very high. He said he was going to show up on a certain day in a certain time, he was punctual, he showed up that day, I didn't wait for a quote from him, he said he was going to get a quote for me within a week or so, I had the quote within a week so he's true to his word. He gave us a lot of detail on that and it's a little bit more than what we were looking to spend.

They were very prompt with e-mailing over the estimate. The price was fair and the contract was very professional and inclusive. They are going to be our new go to lawn maintanence company.

We had moved in a few months back and our entire property was in need of great help. Chris came by and walked the entire property with us. He listened to all of our concerns and details of what we wanted completed. Then he gave us his honest opinion on what we should do and fair pricing on the work to be completed. After the work was completed he walked us through everything to make sure everything we wanted was completed to our satisfaction and then gave us further instructions on how to take care and tend to everything. We liked Chris and his teams work so much , we decided to hire them for ongoing service. After the work was completed, all of our neighbors we saw, told us how great our lawn and property looked.

They were awesome and they did a great job. They were very professional. Chris made sure to contact me and communicate with me on what needed to be done and when it needed to be done.

Chris and team came over gave us free estimate and did the work beautifully. I will definitely use these guys again

We were very happy with it, but they didn't quite hit the dates. They thought they would get it done in six days and it took a little over two weeks, but I gave them a little slack because of the weather. They did a very solid and very thorough job. The work was exceptional and the price was reasonable. They cleaned up afterwards, so there wasn't a mess and they were good. We were able to watch them everyday and it was fine. They were just a little aggressive and to be honest we didn't think they could do it in six days. I think they need to do a better job setting expectations because six days was kind of unrealistic.

It was a pleasure working with Chris from Green Desire. I had called several contractors to replace a long block retaining wall. They all quoted on replacing the block wall with another block wall. Chris looked around and said "you don't want another block wall do you"? I knew it would have been functional but not aesthetically pleasing. It is his busy season but, he said if I could accommodate a flexible schedule, he would get it started within the next three weeks and his price was extremely competitive. He was true to his word. The work begun on Tuesday and in spite of several rain storms finished up by Friday. Once construction completed the crew returned to clean up. I will definitely call Chris for any future stone work, Chris has a very artistic eye, the wall seamlessly blended into the landscape and was consistant with the character of the property. I am very pleased with the results, the wall is beautiful.

I wanted to prune back some overhanging trees and move some soil around. I managed to contact them last fall and get a verbal estimate for the soil work but was delayed by personal matters. This spring I was going to hire them for both jobs, but never connected with them despite several calls requesting a best time to call and leaving another number to call as an alternative to my answering machine. All I got was one message leaving the telephone number that I had called to request that they call and that happened over a week later.

We found Green Desire on Angie's List. We contracted with them to provide us with landscaping services for the Fall as we were unhappy with our previous company. Everything seemed to be going fine. At any rate, as we are putting in a pool and our pool contractor suggested that we call a few more landscaping companies for estimates as they saw some issues(the pool company did not provide ANY names for landscapers). We had a few companies out and, without exception, they noted the sub-par Fall cleanup services for which we paid an additional charge. They pointed out to us that there were leaves blown into the rear and corners of the property, instead of being blown to the center and removed as is customary. Of course, in hindsight this makes perfect sense because if the leaves are not removed the unsightly appearance remains, but we did not go out and check the entire property after the clean-up took place; perhaps we should have. The plant beds were full of leaves showing that they just hadn't been blown out. We asked a few neighbors on the street and were told that they didn't have these issues. We hired a new company and after their first visit, the leaves were gone, plant beds were clean and our property looked great. In fairness we did not call Chris and ask him to return to fix the problem. He had been very responsive to us but we just chose to try someone new. I initially wrote a very negative review and then tempered it some. I heard from the vendor and he said that he was sorry his guys lied to him and told him the job was complete. This is a serious problem in my opinion. Apparently this vendor does not see fit to check on his company's work unless there is a complaint. I would not want to have to rely on my own initiative but expect a company owner or supervisor to confirm that work is up to par. If it was my company i would want to check on the work myself to confirm my standards were being met. Apparently here it is buyer beware. Based on this company's lack of oversight I have returned my rating to D.
