John Goess Roofing

He did an awesome job. I had done the roofing recently, just last month. I went on Angie’s list to find someone and I got the reference from Angie’s list. On Angie’s list he was good too, and that’s why I hired him, because I am tired of getting bad ones. The roofing was done in the beginning of February. The siding and roofing was done together. They are two different companies doing the roofing and siding, but they work together. They both are brothers, Bill sold the business to other one and he continues the business. They know each other and both are on Angie’s list. I feel I got my money’s worth. With regards to the price they were a little bit higher.

Just wonderful. Can't say enough good abut John and his crew. We needed a complete roof redo on our old house and had been putting it off because I am an avid gardener and I feared the mess and damage to my gardens which come right up to the foundations of the house on all 4 sides. Other types of contractors we'd used in the past had been very careless in this regard in spite of our pleas so we were apprehensive. Well, John was AMAZING. His crew didn't hurt so much as a blade of grass and cleaned up so well that you'd never know anything had even happened the next day! Also, he did not try to make us believe that our skylights all had to be replaced as some others had tried to do while we were getting estimates. We were very impressed by John's integrity and the way he treats his workmen. The next day we noticed that the metal cap on one of our chimneys had been removed and not replaced. When we called John to ask about it he immediately responded and we had a brand new one the very next day, no extra charge!

John was extremely nice and prompt about returning my phone calls. He came out to look at the roof and give us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and fair. After receiving 4 different estimates for the roof replacement, I decided on John (because of his experience, knowledge, positive reviews here on Angie's List and the lifetime guarantee of the roof) and called him to schedule the construction. Although our date was postponed by 2 days because of the rain (which I appreciated), his team came right on time the morning of the construction date and quickly went to work. John also came to the door to explain what they were going to do and to answer any questions. There were around 10 guys working on the roof, I think split into two teams for the most efficiency. They had tarps going down the sides of my house to prevent any damage from the falling debris. Within the first hour, half of my roof was already removed! My roof has about 7 gables, all with different dimensions, so I knew it was not going to be easy or fast, but they seemed to move very quickly and the roof was complete by the time I came home from work that day. We have very small children and I had worried about any leftover materials (sharp nails, etc.) in the yard, but their cleanup was very extensive and they even rolled a large magnet around the perimeter of my house to remove any metal pieces. I was very impressed with the entire procedure from start to finish and would highly recommend John Goess and his team.

I spent $7,000 on the job. When they first sent over the paperwork for the services, they listed everything. They listed the details of the work that they did at other’s houses and their details. This helped me look at the work they had done for them. When I contacted a few of their old clients, they were very satisfied. I was satisfied, too. The guy was very good, very reasonable, and honest. I have a flat roof, which was done 10 years ago. With any estimate that I got from the other companies, the flat roof was included. They all stated that I should get the roof redone. He was the only one, who told me that the roof was in perfect condition; there was no need to touch that yet. He was also on time. He called me two days before. He came out at 7:30 a.m. He knocked on the door to make sure that he was not waking anybody up; he did not ring the doorbell. I found only one or two nails in the whole property. He was very neat and very punctual. He was done by 2:00 p.m. All his workers were courteous and nice. I did not have any problems with them. I have already recommended him to a friend of mine at work.

Everything was great. John Goess came over on the same day that I phoned and gave me two options for repairing the roof. One option was $9000, and the other was $6000. I chose the more expensive option, and the project began the next day. I know that John was swamped with calls from people trying to get ready for the hurricane, but he did his utmost to complete the job on time for me. Ultimately, John and his crew did an amazing job from start to finish, and I am left with a beautiful roof that withstood hurricane Irene. If anyone is looking for a great roofer in the area, I recommend John Goess.

Their price was great and they were here on time. They really know their stuff when it comes to roofs. They were very punctual.

The John Goess Roofing Company performed the roof installation in a highly professional manner. They arrived exactly on time and the work was done in a a timely manner. My property was thoroughly cleaned and all old roofing materials were removed. I would eagerly recommend this company to anyone in need of a new roof.

I called John Goess on Monday, July 11 and got voicemail. I left a message saying I wanted an estimate. He returned the call within 10 minutes and came over within a half hour with one of his workers. They inspected the roof and said it was "shot." The roof was 22 yrs. old and had 3 layers of shingles on it. He gave me a fair price of $6,150 to which I agreed, and he said the job would be done on Thursday, July 14 at 7 a.m. I picked out the shingles he suggested and they were delivered at 6:50 a.m. on July 14. The men arrived at 7 a.m. and they went to work. John came back around 2 p.m. when the job was finished. We were very happy with the workers and their work. The only small problem was the cleanup. Basically, they removed all the major debris from the job except for small pieces which had landed among my flowers in the beds surrounding the house. It was a windy day which probably accounted for the numerous small pieces I am now finding in the beds, but overall I would highly recommend John Goess and his crew for any roofing job. Besides Angie's List recommendations online, I had previously used John for small repairs to the roof around 10 years ago after a tree had glanced off the roof in a storm and on another occasion when I thought there was a problem around a doggy dormer. At that time John came and looked at it and said it was okay - no charge for the trip to my house.

They were very good, did an excellent job. They were very clear in what they were going to do as well as very friendly, it was really a breeze.

He did excellent work, and I would recommend him highly. The price was cheap. I have no complaints. There haven't been any problems with the roof at all. He had the lowest price. He had a good rating. He was a friendly person.

John is a very nice guy to deal with. He provided me with an estimate promptly. Afterwards, I mentioned I had an Angie’s List discount and he honored it no questions asked. He and his crew completed the work in half a day. They were incredibly efficient; it was like watching a military team go to work. There was very little debris left behind; maybe two nails tops. We’ve had a lot rain since their work, and there have been no leaks whatsoever. I’m very happy with what he did, and I love my new roof. I would most definitely use him again, and I’d absolutely recommend him to others.

I'm mobile handicapped so I never saw the hole in the roof or the finished repair. Unfortunatey I never got to meet Mr. Goess personally, but there's no doubt in my mind he's an experienced professional who knows what he's doing. From my first phone contact with him through the finish, he's been reliably responsive. His written estimate included a detailed description of what the repair entailed and the materials necessary. The price was in line with my expectations. After a three week wait (to get the wildife trapper's OK there were no animals inside the house), I called Mr. Goess to proceed. I woke up at 8:30am to the noise of the repair work and the repair was done before I could get out to see him. He made the experience pressure free. So far my kitchen is dry. You can't beat that!

The entire job went very well. They used a special truck to lift the shingles directly from the street to the roof. About 10 men worked and did the entire joy in 5 and one half hours. We are very pleased with the work. The roof looks great. John Goess accepted a payment by credit card.

The service was excellent. I received a prompt response on my initial call. There were no additional charges above the estimate; in fact they did a little piece of additional work that wasn't included in the original estimate at no extra charge. The workers were prompt. The work and cleanup was excellent. I have absolutely no complaints. The price was intermediate but it was fair. I just bought the house and he was the only one that was professional and was as advertised.

I described my problem, he came by and dropped an estimate in the mail box. I hired him, he came when he said he would. I NEVER MET HIM. Perfect job. He was worth my membership. IF ONLY HE DID SIDING, i would hire him without question.

We called John Goess Roofing for an estimate on repairing a leak in our roof. John came out with one of his employees looked at the situation and provided an estimate. The only problem we had was in getting him scheduled to do the work. I wanted to do it as soon as possible since it was leaking into my bathroom and kitchen. However, he was too busy so it too a week to be able to schedule us. Other than the scheduling, all went smoothly, they came one morning completed the job and left a bill in the mailbox. Price was fair and we no longer have a leak. So all in all, job well done and I would recommend John.

When they came to perform the estimate they came out when we weren't home. My husband spoke with them on the phone and told them that we needed our roof completely redone. They left an estimate with me to only to fix the back side of my roof. This actually irritated me because its not what I asked for.

My first call to John showed how professional this company is. His outgoing message provides an estimate of the time that he will call back. And he did. He arrived for the estimate on time and provided significant helpful information in addition to the estimated price. For example he provided addresses of the homes that he had worked on along with the colors that were installed. From this, we were able to view his actual work and this also made it much easier to pick out a color. John's provided us with a couple of days notice (as promised) before work started. He and his crew arrived on time and did an excellent job preparing for the tear off. By the time the end of the afternoon arrived, the entire house was completed and the property was cleaned up. When they left, you could not tell that they had been there. John and his crew paid a lot of attention to detail. The installed vents in appropriate places and went out of their way to be courteous and professional. This is a great company and John is a pleasure to deal with. We recommend him highly. The work is professional, the price was reasonable (we compared with four other estimates) and the house looks great.

Fantastic! After an awful experience trying to patch the roof, I contacted John Goess for a full roof replacement. Couldn't have been better from start to finish. After giving me the estimate, John called me twice to see if I had any questions and answered all of them clearly and completely. His crew showed up at the time he said they would and went to work with unbelievable precision! The work was finished when promised and completely to my satisfaction. Cleanup was thorough - they left nothing whatsoever on my lawn! Excellent service - I will use them again for any roofing needs I have in the future and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

I had water coming in through the ceiling. I called John and he came over the next day. He left a note in my mailbox stating he checked the caulking and found it to be OK. He fixed something on the roof and put a siding panel that was dropping back in place. NO CHARGE

In less than 24 hours, John and his excellent assistant, Marco came to my home, examined the problem and found areas where the rain could possibly enter the house. In 15 minutes they completed a thorough caulking job. I have so much confidence in JOHN GOESS ROOFING that I would not hesitate to have them come back and pull up shingles and reset the skylight and exaust fan if necessary. Great guys, great company!
