Description of Work: They added water, a drain and a vent for a washer and dryer in my kitchen. Another plumber told me I was overcharged 100% for the job. I had to have changes to the installation by a another plumber. No copper was used and the distances involved were short. It took the plumber most of one day to do the job but he was not in my house for more than 4-5 hours.

Description of Work: Installed my new faucet and my dish disposal after new counter was installed. Just to install they charged me 700.00 if I wanted a new disposal. That would have been 800.00 more. Garbage disposals cost 200 from Lowe's or home depot.

Description of Work: After I gave the tech a description of what has been going on with the plumbing for 2 day, he immediately diagnosed the problem as tree roots clogging the line to the main sewer. He spen about 1 hour snaking with a cutter at the outside access pipe. Everything is flowing smoothly now. At least I now know what I'll need to be doing to stem the problem in the future. This was all done on a Sunday!

Description of Work: They did good work but it took all day to replace bathroom tub faucet and kitchen faucet and repair a leak in kitchen as well. Never had to pay for plumbing before so $800 for this work was a shock.

Description of Work: Based on an Angies List Big Deal, I called for help with a blocked drain on a second floor sink. | |The next morning When the plumber arrived he told me that their company was independently owned and was unaware of promotion, but after a call to the office they agreed to honor the promotional price. He spent a great deal of time attempting to clear the drain with a typical roto-rooter machine, which seemed in poor condition. After a couple of hours the drain still was not clear. To be fair, the length of time spent was at least partly my fault in that I was unfamiliar with the actual configuration of the drain and provided him with bad information. I thought the pipe was connected to the toilet waste pipe in the same room, but it turned out to be a separate, parallel pipe. | |Once the location of the drain pipe in the cellar was established he attempted to clear the drain from a cleanout there, but was unsuccessful because it was a tee connection and his machine couldn't turn the corner up into the blockage. He thought it would probably be necessary to cut out a section of pipe to get at the problem and called in again to arrange for help from another employee. The job was put on hold until the next morning. | |The next morning both men were in agreement that some cutting would be necessary and a reciprocating saw was used to cut off a cleanout pipe leading into the T. The stub would not come out with reasonble force, and they were concerned that the old pipe might break if too much force was applied, so they cut the stub longetudinally through the threads. | |Next they asked if I had anything they could use to catch the gunk that would come out when they broke through the clog and I supplied a trash can. The blockage was cleared with a fair amount of mess in the trash can and on the floor. After that it was time to screw a plug into the open end of the T to close it up. The plug would not seal (presumably because when making the longitudinal cut to remove the stub they had cut too deep and damaged the internal threads on the T). They switched to a different kind of plug which worked by expansion and finally the joint was sealed. | |Both men left without cleaning up the basement and some damage was done to the bathroom wall where the drain enters. Though the job was clearly more difficult than expected, I feel that was no excuse for leaving me with a mess.

Description of Work: Simple unclogging of a kitchen sink. But they were very polite and informative. I had a Angie's List coupon, so that helped with the cost. I would not hesitate to contact Roto-Rooter for future services.
