Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services

I called Roto-Rooter for a quote on a sewer cleaning. Their telephone service was great and they set up an appointment that evening for between 7 and 9 and shortly after the phone call I received an email confirmation. Great so far. Unfortunately they didn't call again until 910pm to say that they were on the way and they didn't arrive until 945pm. The guy was polite and very knowledgable. He explained all the different parts to the plumbing in the basement and what could be the issue. Unfortunately when he told me the price, even with a 6 month guarantee and a $40 coupon from their website it was too much. Great company but shame about the price.

They were expensive but came out on a Sunday, and are things well.

I called and received a time convienent for me. Plumber was punctual, friendly and knowledgable. Made sure I was happy with the work before he left. Very respectful of not dirtying or damaging my house.

There were no issues. They were prompt and when the gentleman that was here couldn't solve it on his own, he called someone else to come out and help. Even though they were here all day, they did not increase their quote. I would use them again.

We had moved into the house we just bought on Monday, by Saturday the sewer was backed up to the first floor. We noticed that the first floor toilet was acting up. Like a fool, I went and flushed the second floor toilet, which pushed sewage out of the first floor toilet all over the bathroom. I called Roto-Rooter because they advertised 24 hr emergency service, and I figured it was a national company, so I would have some recourse if things went wrong. This outfit sent a guy out within a few hours, and even called me back to say he was running later than originally estimated. Then things started going goofy. When the guy got here, he wanted to look all over the house at the plumbing, even though I told him exactly what had happened, and directed him to the clean out in the cellar. He finally got his power snake out and got to work, and kept asking me to go outside to listen for any obstructions he might hit. On one of my trips outside, someone pulled up in a car and stole the warning cones he had set on the street outside his van. This is a very quiet suburban neighborhood. I went back to the cellar and told him what happened and that I was going to call the police, but he asked to to wait while he "called his supervisor". After a phone call, he said I should not bother reporting the theft. Back to work, he did get a lot of roots out of the drain, and we got plenty of water to run through it. He stated that as part of what I would pay him that a "technician" would call to arrange a camera inspection of the sewer on Monday. He said he was convinced that my sewer line was broken. Now, to be fair, he did clean out the sewer, and it has not been a problem since, although we did take down the tree that was above it the following week. Here's my gripe: ONE: no-one ever called to arrange a camera inspection, and TWO: EVEN WORSE: although I had taken a nice hot shower that very morning, the next day my better half had to take a freezing cold one because I FOUND THE WATER HEATER TURNED TO VACATION AND THE PILOT BLOWN OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After finding that, I knew three things: one, that I was "listening for the snake", and witnessing the "theft", so he could create an excuse for me to leave the cellar while he set me up for a call-back for "another problem"; two, that I would not even consider calling them to ask about the "camera inspection"; and, three, that I would never do business with them again.

I called Roto-Rooter because toilet water from a first floor toilet was slowly dripping into my basement. Mike Deapo came. He said the ring under the toilet needed to be replaced. He needed to move the toilet to replace it. He told me I might want to replace the older toilet with one that used less water since the cost would be the same. I special ordered a toilet at Lowe's because I wanted it to match the other bathroom fixtures. He turned off the water running to the toilet. There was no charge for this. Since Mike was there, I asked him to look at my upstairs bathtub drain which was running very slowly. He hand augered the drain and got it running. I set up an appointment for him to come back to install the toilet which he he did install 11 days later. When he entered my home, he covered him shoes, totally cleaned up after himself, thoroughly explained everything and told me what to do to keep the drain and toilet running smoothly.

It was a problem but it could be fixed. This guy was good and knew how to do most things but he just wasn't entirely sure on how to fix my disposal but I liked him.

They came on time, did the job efficiently and within the estimated cost. They cleaned up after themselves, and even wore paper booties to protect my floors.

I was pretty pleased with Roto Rooter. They did what they needed to. I was thinking the problem was a larger job than it actually was. They could have lowered the price a bit but I honestly cant say I compared it to other places or shopped around. When you have an emergency, you need to get it resolved and resolved fast. They rectified my problem and that is what was most important to me.

Worker was very pleasant. Went right to work. However, drain in basement is still having a slight problem. Will have to call them back. We have a written guarantee to return if problem was not completely solved.

I made an appointment for someone to come out on Monday to check a slow drain. I called early in the day to confirm appointment and they told me they would be out between 5 - 7 pm. At 5:30 I received a call telling me no one in my area was working that night and was asked to reschedule for Tuesday, 5-7 pm. On Tuesday afternoon, I received a call and was asked to leave work early so the plumber could be at my house at 4 pm, as he only works until 4:30. I did leave work and at 4:15, when he STILL hadnt shown up, I called and was reassured he was on another job but would be coming - "youre on the list." At 5:30 I received another call and was told they have no one in my area to perform the work. I wasted two days of time, including missed time from work for nothing. I was told two different stories by two different people. Obviously they are incompetent. DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER! VERY unprofessional!

I would say that my overall experience with Roto Rooter was fine. They came out and did the work for me in a few hours. I had no problems with them.

Roto-Rooter was very good and did a thorough job. They came out right away and worked for about two days fixing up my basement. They were on time and worked hard. I felt like they treated me like a valued customer. I would recommend them to anyone.

We called Roto Rooter and they sent a plumber right away. He was very cordial and I appreciated that he took care of the septic system so quickly.

Roto-Rooter guarantees their work for six months. On a prior job we ran into problems within the 6 months and they came out and did a great job correcting the problem. I have used them several times and highly recommend them.

We have utilized Roto-Rooter a couple of times. They responded within a couple hours. I would recommend them to anyone. They had what they needed in the truck to repair it. Even if they have to run for something it only takes about half an hour.

The service was disappointing. Roto-Rooter didn't arrive when they said they would. The work took longer than it should have also. The crew was friendly though.

I would hire Roto-Rooter again for drain cleaning, but not much more than that. My impression is that they are geared for that type of service. They did do a good for what I asked them to do. I was satisfied.

Roto-Rooter did a good job, but I thought the price quote was high and then they charged me more, saying they had to use expensive copper piping. So even though I had a $25 discount coupon I ended up spending what they quoted. I will never use them again.

Roto-Rooter came right away. It was a Friday late afternoon and I had never used them before. I was very happy with the responsiveness and I have complicated plumbing, but they had no problems. They were recommended by friends. Very reasonable.

Everything went pretty well. I thought it cost a little bit more than it should be, but Roto-Rooter was very professional and friendly. The first time they came, they couldn't get it, but they came back the very next day, at no charge, to finish.

Everything was satisfactory with them. Roto-Rooter came right out to my home. Everything seems to be working great now.

My overall experience with Roto-Rooter was good. The company is professional and well established. The pipes do not leak and everything looks neat and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

We usually have Roto-Rooter come out every two years. They are very punctual. You call, and they come right out. They don't leave a mess behind and are very professional. They know what they are doing. It does not take them long.

Roto-Rooter did a good job although the prices were a little high. They arrived on time and were very quick a getting the job done.
