+ -1 moreThe appointment went very well. The technican, Bob, was very professional. He took the time to explain what was wrong and provided options for dealing with future blockages. I only wish that someone could have come earlier than next morning (I had called around 11pm and only 2 technicians are available late night) I used their services for the first time a little more than a year ago to snake out the same line(have tree roots) and the technican who came out in the bitter cold was also extremely professional and helpful. I'm sure I will be calling them in another year to snake again.

+ -1 moreI had a bath tub leaking, I called and scheduled an appointment asap. They took my address, phone number and booked the appointment. Then they called and cancelled my appointment 20 minutes before they were supposed to arrive to my building because they are not licensed in the city of Tonawanda. This is something that the person I spoke with on the phone should of been able to tell me. She should of not booked my appointment then have someone else call me the following day when they should be heading to the property. It would of not been a big deal if they were up front and honest. They clearly need better people taking calls with an understanding of where they could service. At the time they cancelled I then had to scramble to find someone else. I would never reccomond this company to anyone and was completely turned off by how they handled the situation. I was planning on having them come to my building but instead I lost a day an a half because of their poor service.
Description of Work: They called and cancelled my appointment 20 minutes before they were supposed to arrive.

The gentleman was really polite and committed to finding the problem, gave me an estimate and came out the next morning with the equipment necessary to locate the exact spot where my drain pipes were clogged in the yard. Great service and fair price.
Description of Work: Roto-Rooter located a clog in my exterior drain pipe that was causing water backup a little further away on my lawn.

The work came with a six month guarantee, but I feel confident the problem was taken care of 100%, the tech spent a lot of time making sure the drain was clear, after he cleared it, he filled a few drains with water, made sure they drained, and snaked the drain a second time to make sure he got everything. Very thorough.
Description of Work: Had a clogged drain pipe in one of my bathrooms, they came out within an hour of my calling them, spent a lot of time making sure the drain was clear, sent out another technician with a camera scan machine to ensure there would be no more problem with the drain they worked on as well as any others. Very professional, polite and thorough, cleaned up after themself, reccomended I use "PipeShield" once a month in all my drains, had some with them which I gladly purchased.Told me the cost before they started any work, and the cost was exactly what he said it would be. Technicians #'s 254 & 907. If I have any future problems I will call them again and ask for these same Technicians, I was very impressed and very satisfied. I called Roy's Plumbing and asked about their "Any drain, anytime, just $99" deal, they had so many exclusions the only way I would have gotten their "deal" was if they cleaned out the cat's litterbox, which has NO drain !!! Plus they couldn't come out for 6 to8 hours from the time I called them. Roto-rooter was out in less than an hour. Worth every penny.

+ -1 moreWe placed a call on Monday night hoping for a call back by Tuesday afternoon. No way!! It was better than that! He called back 7:30 the next morning(Tuesday) which was wonderful! Stan was amazing. He knew exactly what the problem was and wasted no time getting to the source. We were quite impressed. We were so pleased with this service and his knowledge and expertise, that we are going to have him come back every fall to snake the same line to keep all debris and roots out of the sewer line. We would highly recommend him and his ROTO-Rooter Service .Thank you, Angie's List, and a huge thank you to STAN!
Description of Work: Stan, our wonderful serviceman, diagnosed the problem immediately. We had a huge blockage that was causing water to flood the basement through the laundry hose/wall. He snaked out the main line to the street. It was about 80 feet. He then offered a "video" look at the cleaned sewer line. He was amazing.

+ -1 moreJob completed in about 45 minutes. The job they did was fine, but I felt I was way overcharged for less than an hours work, for labor only. Usual fee is about $100. an hour for plumbers. They did give me an estimate first, so I could have refused, but I was unaware at that time what the normal charge should be to snake a sink. I checked around afterward and felt that I had been ripped off. I felt like they double charged me. I think since the job only took 45 minutes, the service tech. should have lowered the quote at that time. I will not call them again.
Description of Work: Just cleared one plugged kitchen sink.

+ -1 moreI called the roofer and it fixed the smell. Roto-Rooter didn’t even charge me. I use them as my plumber now. Most recently they got rid of a bottle top in my drain.
Description of Work: It was excellent. They are my favorite. I have used them in the past. I had a smelly basement and I had one plumber tell me I needed to replace the sewer line. The only way he was going to be able to do it was to destroy a brand new bathroom I had done. Roto-Rooter said it was due to a leak in the roof that was coming down.

+ 1 moreI had an emergency toilet back up. Turns out my entire waste line was clogged. Roto-Rooter showed up within an hour early in the morning and got right to work. It was cleared out in less than an hour with minimal mess or stress on me, I was already stressed enough from the plumbing problem. The tech even looked at and quickly diagnosed the problem with my hot water heater as well at no charge. A couple of people have said the price should have been lower for such a service, but it was done so fast and efficiently, I don't care if I may have paid a little more than some others would have charged; this was an emergency and Roto-Rooter saved my day.

+ 0 moreThe work turned out spectacular. It was a positive experience. We hired one company who wasn’t able to fix the issue and then hired Roto-Rooter and they were able to fix the problem. They responded immediately. Not only do the do drain work, but they also do plumbing.
Description of Work: The washing machine was running and the toilet over flowed from it. I couldn’t get any water of the house. I shut off all the water and I tried to snake the drain, but couldn’t. I hired a plumber to try and snake the drain but he couldn’t do it either. Finally Roto-Rooter came out and they were able to unclog the drain with their equipment and fix the toilet.

+ 1 moreWe would tell others that they were punctual, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. We spent around $1400 on that service. The workers were very professional and they worked very hard and they did a nice job. They were also very caring. We don’t think we would use them again just because of the price.
Description of Work: We used Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services a couple of months ago and they replaced a sewer pipe and water line to the street, put in a sump pump, and re-piped the drain.

I think I was pleasantly surprised with their plumbing knowledge. They make sure that there is no dirt around. They take precautions to cover floors and things like that that might get wet or dirty.

+ 0 moreThe guy showed up, gave an estimate after fully understanding the problem, started the work and then said that he would need more than twice the amount of quoted price to clear up the clog because 'this is a hard clog." I would never calle up Roto Rooter again and would not recommend using this company as this behavior of demanding more money after opening up pipes and connections and not completing the job is nothing but unprofessional and unethical behavior. The technician just walked off the job when I refused to pay the extra money and I didn't pay any money for an unfinished job
Description of Work: The kitchen sink clogged up and the technician was called to clear up the clog so water could flow back again normally. However, as described below, this service was not satisfactorily provided by the technician.
