Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services

The servicer arrived shortly after the call for service was placed. This was extremely important because we were moving out of the house on that day and the house had to be ready for inspection the next day. The problem was rectified in a short amount of time and the technician was pleasant to work with. My only disappointment was the high price for less than an hour's worth of work. I would call Roto-rooter again for any future plumbing issues.

I thought they were expensive for 5 minutes worth of work. almost $100 and the voucher I paid was for $79 for $250 with of labor service. Since they would not accept the voucher, I paid out of pocket. I am more annoyed with Angie's list for offering me the voucher and not advising this service was for a city that was 75 miles away. The serviceman was pleasant, not sure if the fix is a temporary bandaid or if the the shower faucet is really fixed.

I had some water coming up through the floor drains in the basement. I called Roto-Rooter. As it was a very rainy night, they told me it might be a couple hours before they could come since they've been receiving a lot of calls. A half hour to an hour after I called they arrived,. They snaked out the sewer line from the clean out in the front yard, and probably 30 to 45 minutes later, they were done. The service was excellent and the price reasonable. (They said there is a standard price for a sewer line clean out.)

They had some difficulty at first since the valve was under our restored Victorian porch. The backhoe driver was the one who devised the plan, since they originally proposed to tear down part of the porch (unacceptable to us). After that they were fine.

The repair was effective and the problem solved. They were quite responsive and very quick which was a major positive.

I called Roto-Rooter around 6:30am due to us having water coming up through the basement floor cracks and up from the floor drains. Dawn answered and took down all the information. She was extremely pleasant and helpful. Made arrangements to have a technician come out between 8:00 am and 10:00am. Said a call would come to me when the technician was almost ready to come my way, about 30 minutes prior. The call did come as stated which was appreciated. My technician, Scott (851) arrived on time and ready to work. He listened to my issue and developed a plan. Scott took the time to explain things to me and kept me informed as he worked. He was finally able to unclog the floor drain after pulling out a wad of tree roots. He took the time to discuss using copper sulfate in the drain to address the tree root issue and even gave me a heads up about the smell. He was extremely pleasant and worked quickly and expertly.

They will not stand by there work @ all they just give you the run around when you call them on it and point out the way it should be installed per the manufacture install manual they totally try to get out of everything any way they can.They will fix the problem and take $75 off for them to fix what should of been installed properly in the fist place I said no way I would pay for a service call he said the service call would be $325 that was - the discount he was giving me and the total they wanted to fix what should of been done in the first place . There was a lot of going back in forth and them saying so many different things and denying all of what they told me ... I am going to report them to everyone I can .

The service providers arrived about an hour after I placed the call. I ran into some complications while trying to reinstall the toilet myself so the toilet was off when they arrived. Their quickness and promptness in responding was great and appreciated The two gentlemen were courteous and quickly replaced the water supply line to the toilet, installed new bolts and re-sealed the toilet. The job took about a half hour. the toilet is back in place with a new supply line. Price would have seemed more affordable if I hadn't already done a good portion of the job but overall a good experience and a nice job. And it was done quickly.

I have used Roto Rooter several times. With only one exception, they have always been on time. This last time they were late but made sure to call me and let me know. I made the mistake of calling another plumber for the most recent job of a leaking sink. THREE times I waited for this plumber who used excuses and didn't show. On the third time they showed up and said that they were not there for a repair but only to give an estimate!!! I realized the time and $$ lost was not worth it and promptly scheduled with Roto Rooter. I really like the fact that you can schedule with them online and when they show up, they have everything in the truck that they need. They have replaced a sump pump, water heater and fixed the dreaded leak sink. For an emergency visit they are the BEST and clean up after, even wear the protective booties on their shoes so as to not track in mud..as if I care with water going everywhere! Thanks guys!

they do a good job at a reasonable price and provide a short warranty (6 months?).

The provider did a great job. He was prompt and courteous and obviously knew what he was doing.

We had our septic guy out for the second time in a year to stop the septic from backing into my basement. They couldn't fix the problem so I called Roto-Rooter on a Sunday and they showed up in an hour!!! I live in Middleport, NY so I didn't think they would even be out that day! He did a great job cleaning out my septic line and after the fact we ran the hot water in the house and saw lots more chunks of grease come out from the previous owners! Very pleased with the service and would use them in the future for all my plumbing needs.

some parts were broken on my toilet tank on both my bathrooms. It was a cold morning day after thanks giving. We were wondering whom to call on a holiday morning. We called roto rooter they are professional, timely, extremely skillful. I felt that they are little pricey but I paid extra amount for the peace of mind. Otherwise I had to burgain around and might need to take a day or two off from my work which comes at a cost as well. Then get a quote from some one and then some more days off to get it done. So I paid may be 50-100 dollars more and decided to go with roto rooter and bought peace of mind.

Bob W from the north area of Buffalo was professional and knowledgeable. I was also having a foundation crack repaired from a different company, and he said he thought Bob really knew what he was talking about. I needed someone ASAP and they were there within a few hours. I thought the cost was fair, and I learned quite a bit!

Rotorooter was extremely prompt. I called at approoximately 10:30 am and they gave me an appt. window of 12:00 - 2:00. At 12:00, they called to say that their previous appt. was running over but that they would keep me updated as to the new schedule and continued to do so (which I greatly appreciated), until they arrived at 3:30 pm. They were very professional, protective of my home (it was raining heavily that day and they made sure to wear shoe guards. Two hours later, all my drains had been cleared and verified to be running smoothly, leaks were fixed and tested, and valves were tested. Very professional, they did an intial assessment and gave me the estimated cost before performing the work, which I approved and then they set about doing it.

Service man came about one hour (!) after I called for service. It seemed to go OK; lots of mud and debris flushed from drain and it finally ran clear. Camera inspection to follow.

Called on a Saturday morning and they arrived 2 hours earlier than the original time due to a cancellation. Called and asked if I was ready for them and of course I told them yes. Didn't have to burn a whole Saturday waiting around. Took about an hour to analyze and fix the problem. Roto-Rooter was awesome and I would definitely use them again!

This is my 2nd experience with Roto-Rooter. The 1st involved clearing my main sewer line which went perfectly. This 2nd time was for a plugged bathroom sink drain. I wanted to use the same Roto-Rooter plumber as the 1st time, so I scheduled an appointment for the 10:00AM - 12:00PM timeslot. He didn't get to my house until 1:15PM, but the Roto-Rooter dispatcher kept me informed of his status the whole time by calling me every hour. This plumber is a very nice guy and also very professional to work with and he was finished and out of the house before 2:00PM. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the level of professionalism on display. The response time was a little slow this time especially when you consider that I had scheduled it two days in advance. In fairness, the response was probably adversely impacted by my insistence on using a specific plumber when I'm sure there were other capable plumbers available. So I'm not really disappointed with that aspect. It was more expensive than I expected, but they use set rates and I didn't ask before I scheduled the appointment. Still, I would use these guys again.

they excavated & replaced about 8' & attached to existing pipe. We were calling them back continuously with problems. finally we called the town & did a video inspection to reveal the work was not complete. Had to involve the Attorney General to resolve case & get restitution. I had a bad experience with Roto-Rooter & would not recommend them for big excavation jobs. We had used their services for approx. 10 years previous to this for small repairs & was very satisfied.

I found water in my basement unexpectedly. I called around and every plumber I reached needed at least 4 hours before they could arrive. I called roto rooter and they were here in about 30 minutes. The plumber cleared the line in no time and gave me some tips on how to avoid it in the future. Very happy with their service!

I noticed water leaking from the house's main water line valve. This valve was the older kind that twists. I was unable to stop the leak and could not shut the water off as this was the main shut off valve for the house. The only way to shut off this water line is from the street access?! And I would still need the valve repaired. I believe this was a Friday and I could not wait until Monday, I was worried that the valve would leak faster or break and I would have a flood. I checked Angie's list (as I always do before any job) for A rated plumbers in my area and called several, including Roto-Rooter. They were able to come to my house the same day. The plumber that responded was professional and pleasant. We attempted to find the street shut off without success. He gave me a price for completion of the job with a new valve-lever type not rotary. He explained he could complete the work by "freezing" the line and then cutting and replacing the valve. He needed to return to the shop to get the machine to freeze the line. He returned promptly and started the job. He completed the work satisfactorly and cleaned up after himself-removed the frozen rags he had used around the line. I was able to feel relieved that no further water damage would happen. The price was reasonable, as I had compared it with other plumbers I had called before scheduling Roto-Rooter. I would recommend Root-Rooter for service.

After analyzing the details of the the plumbing backing up into the bathtub, kitchen sink, washing machine and the dishwasher, the technician cleared out the main sewer drain to the street and found another plugged area in the main drain in the basement. He was very professional and knowledgeable and explained everything he did along the way. It took nearly 2 1/2 hrs but all is cleared and draining like new. The pricing was a bit higher than others but I was able to use a coupon I printed online. I would defineately recommend them to anyone.

When black water started spontaneously backing up the toilet and buckets of water started flowing from the pipe in to our finished basement and down the walls, we shut off the water and needed help. After 1+ hours of trying to contact our regular plumber without a response, we called Roto Rooter. We were told when we called at 12:30pm that we would have a technician at the house within 2 hours. From 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm, we did recieve calls from Roto Rooter updating us that all their techs were still out on other calls. While we appreciated the frequent updates regarding our status, the fact that we had an emergency, and we were still without assistance or water was very frustrating. On the last call we recieved at 7:30 pm, we were told we would not get anyone out here untill the next day. The next morning, we did have a great technician, Scotty, who answered our questions, did the job well and was very courteous and helpful. So nearly 24 hours after our emergency call, we finally could function in our house again, and not live like disabled cruise ship passengers. Everyone at Roto Rooter was very nice and I did appreciate the updates, just was not happy that we had to wait until the next day to have our emergency taken care of. The ad said 24/7 emergency service, or did that mean I had to wait 24 hours to get emergency service? I would consider using them again, but there needs to be a better way for them to triage their teams to address emergency calls.

They were easy to contact, courteous manners, called me back quickly to give me an approximate time (2-3 hour window) and then followed that up within 30 minutes to give me a more exact time (within an hour window). He (Frank) showed up on time, looked at the issue and told me what it would cost and hauled his equipment into my basement with no complaints. He struggled a little to get access to the main sewer trap, but that's because it's in an awkward location like most old houses and hasn't been accessed in over five years. He pushed through my sewer pipes with his cable snake and pulled out a clog of roots about the size of my cat. He kept cleaning the pipes to make sure there wasn't more then he cleaned up, closed the pipes and took his stuff. He gave me a bill that was exactly what he told me it would cost when he arrived. He was professional and courteous, worked hard and steady and got the job done.
