We called Fine Design at 631-472-4482 on 6/3/2013 and Rob came here on 6/4 to give us the Estimate. On 6/19 we called to ask them for references we could call. Rob said Lisa, in his office, would set something up for us to see (since you needed to see the work not just talk to people) for Tues or Wed. the 25th or 26th. On 6/20 we called to get on their schedule. Lisa said our work would be done on July 2nd or 8th, the latest. No one ever called us w/ the references. We called their office several times, never spoke to anyone, and left detailed voice mails, and never received a return call. On July 5, we called, and left a message, to see if they were coming on the 8th. Rob called on the 6th and said they were backed up and apologized for not giving us references saying that people are away over the holidays and not available. Rob said he would call us on the 10th or 11th, and they would come the end of that week (the 12th) or the beginning of the following week. He did not call. We called him on the 12th, and the 15th on his cell phone 631-433-4812 and office number, and left messages. No one called us back. We called again on the 16th, left another message, and Rob finally called and said they were busy, that he had no phone service out east where he was working, and that he would come on the 24th. We then called the office and left a message asking for references we could call, if not see, and they never returned that call or supplied any references. On the 16th, Rob said to call the day before they were supposed to come, to verify they were coming. We reminded him that my husband had 2 days of prep work to do (he had to remove blocks all around the pool so they could have room to work), so Rob said to call Mon. the 22nd. We called the office around 9am, and later his cell twice, and left messages, to find out if they were coming and wanted to at least get a reference or 2. Instead Rob called and said he was all set to do the job, but because we called so much, he wasn't going to do it now. He then hung up on us. We spent over $100 getting supplies that he needed to do the job. We did everything he asked and were continually stalled, not supplied with any references, and then yelled at for trying to get information that he never supplied. We found them to be rude, disreputable, unresponsive and unprofessional.
Description of Work: The owner Rob T came to our home on June 4, 2013 to give us an estimate on having pool coping put on our pool which was damaged during Super Storm Sandy. He gave a price of $1170 to put new coping down and said that our old coping (which we saved most of) was very nice and it would save us $300 if we used that instead. We had some damaged pieces that needed to be replaced, and Rob told us to go to a mason supply store and buy up all the ones we could. We did, and even had to have one specially made.
