Verengo Solar

Installation took several months to begin, took several days to complete. Installation functioned perfectly, provided all power needed for home in hot (100+) climate with whole house air conditioning over the course of two years. Was promised no money down, then asked for $2,500.00 to begin work. Reminded Verengo about original offer, they offered to split cost at $1,250.00. I was not happy, but paid the second amount. Felt like bait and switch to me. Received class action settlement of $55+, I guess other people had the same problem I did. They sold my contract to Sunrun, who does all billing and service for contract. Had difficulty selling property, people did not like Sunrun having access to their equipment on the property. Finally found buyer who did not want to use the property to grow dope.

Everything was done professionally. I have no issues with them. Everything was automatic. They brought up their engineers and installed everything. I hardly even involved in it.

They were wonderful. They were quiet. You hardly knew they were even on the roof. The service was terrific and quick and efficient. I have no complaints. My husband spent at least six months, he does a lot of checking things out. So it must have been a very fair price. He investigates.

The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!!! I bought in to the sales pitch from Verengo Solar for a no cost Solar Panel Installation in early 2014. It took a few months to schedule the installation due to county paperwork/permits and they did tell me that in the Beginning. Someone finally called me to schedule the installation and I took the day off. On the scheduled day,No one showed up and I called them Verengo around 11am. Their customer service rep told me that I was not on their schedule for installation. I told her I have an email confirmation of my appointment and she said she will look into it and get back to me. An hour later, a gentleman called me with an apology and told me that they forgot to put me on the Calendar for installation. He offered me a $100 Gift card as compensation for me staying home from work(for no reason) and offered me an appointment for the following week. On the rescheduled day Verengo did show up at 7:30am and the installation crew was great at explainng everything. After looking over my property Verengo told me they have to DIG UP MY YARD to run wires from my house to the Detached garage which was 70 feet away from the Inverters. Verengo told me that they will cover all costs to repair/replace everything that they dig up and will also replace the grass in my yard. I said OK to digging up my yard and making a 70' trench to run their wires to the Garage. The installation was completed in 2 1/2 days. They told me that a City inspector has to come within a few days to inspect the wires they ran in the Trench before the trench can be covered back up. I waited 2 days and I did not receive any updates from Verengo. I called my Verengo project manager "Madeline" in CALIFORNIA and she said she will call me back and she never did. I called the next day because there was a huge trench in my yard and I have little kids so I wanted Verengo to send an inspector and cover the Trench before someone gets hurt. I called Verengo and Madeline several times and left messages but and no one called me back. I called again and Madeline told me that she would schedule inspection and would get back to me and she never did. I called my Sales Rep and he spoke to his manager(and now its week 2 after installation) and still no response from Verengo to schedule an inspection. Frustrated after 3 weeks I called the COO of Verengo and someone finally contacted me to schedule an inspection. The City Inspector came to look at the Trench(after 4 weeks) and he told us that he was contacted by Verengo just 2 days ago (This is after 4 weeks with a 70 feet long Trench in my yard near my pool with little Kids. Amazing Customer Service...NOT!!!). After the inspection was done, Verengo did nothing on their end to Contact me to cover the Trench. I called Verengo 3 times before someone was scheduled to come out and cover the Trench. For 2 Summer months, when the kids were out of school, my backyard was a Big MESS!!!! It is now 2 months into an Installation (that they promised would take just 3 days to complete), I still don't have my $100 Gift Card that they promised for the original no-show appointment that I mentioned in the beginning. I had to call Verengo Several times before they finally came to put down new grass and Clean up the yard. I WAS EVEN TOLD BY SEVERAL VERENGO EMPLOYEES THAT MY INSTALLATION PROJECT WAS MANAGED VERY POORLY BY THEIR COMPANY!!! Then one day I get a call from verengo stating that their Electrician needs to come out to inspect the Installation. We setup an appointment. An unfriendly Verengo Electrician showed up, Did work outside our house for a few hours and asked us if he can use the bathroom. We said OK and he did his Business in the bathroom and later when I walked in to the Bathroom, he made a mess all over the toilet and left without cleaining it (Amazing...Isn't it). After Several FRUSTRATING phone calls to Verengo Customer Service, I was told that they are waiting for City Inspection to be completed so my Solar system can be turned on. I waited weeks and no calls or updates from Verengo. I called the City Inspector and he told me that he did not receive any notification for an Inspection on my home from Verengo. I called Verengo and told them what I was told by the City Inspector and the person on the phone tells me that Verengo has all the Paperwork needed to turn my system on and I can go outside and turn my Solar System ON. AMAZING isn't it!!!!!! If I didnt call them, I wouldn't have known that they have all the paperwork to get my system up and running. After 4 months from installation I can finally Turn on my Solar System. VERENGO has the absolute worst CUSTOMER SERVICE in the Industry. They never FOLLOW UP or UPDATE you Before, During or after Installation. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VERENGO for SOLAR INSTALLATION. VERENGO has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NEVER UPDATE YOU ON THE PROGRESS OF YOUR INSTALLATION and YOU HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK FOR THEM to GET YOUR SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING. Their CUSTOMER SERVICE and PROJECT Managers are in CALIFORNIA. They are in a Different time zone. They have no Clue about your neighborhood and local laws. Stay away from VERENGO!!!!

It went great, the customer service was amazing, they explain what they were doing in a language you can understand. They get all permits for installation. I did not have to do anything. My electric bill was extremely decreased by at least $300 - $400.00 for the summer months. I needed a new roof and they provided that for me with no out of pocket expense to me. I wished I would have done this years ago, would have saved a lot of money.

This concerned me because that meant it would be producing less power than we contracted for, so they increased the quality (better panels - higher output power), which satisfied me. This was one of the first installs they had done in my area as they are a California based company, they were not very familiar with NY state/Con Edison requirements either. They have made good though.

It was supposed to produce 60% of my homes electric needs. The system overproduced and has been well above my expectations. My experience with Verango was positive and professional. From the sales rep to the customer service, they were attentive, response to all questions and concerns were answered in a very timely manner.

Vendor installed solar panels on roof. The only problems we encountered had to do with the bureaucracy of obtaining permits, approvals, etc from the local authorities and the energy providers. Verengo did everything that was expected and was very good at providing status reports throughout.

My first inquiry was a simple online form to fill out, their customer service in California called to set the appointment. Their representative showed up and discussed their lease option for solar panels. He made his pitch, which was very appealing but I wasn't interested in leasing, I wanted to buy. A few days later their customer service, in California, called to ask about my opinion on their representative and his presentation. I said that their rep was nice and he made a nice pitch but that I really wanted to know about purchasing instead of leasing solar panels. When I mentioned this their customer service guy became a little obnoxious and asked if I had enough money to purchase the system; only he said with a condescending attitude, which I didn't appreciate. I told him that the amount of money that I had in the bank was none of his business and how my husband and I decided to pay for the panels was up to us. At this point all I wanted to do was hang up on him but he said a few other things, that I didn't listen to and bid him a good night. I haven't gotten anymore phone calls from them and I don't think we will be doing business with them.

The original install date could not be kept because of severe weather. They changed the date to one convenient for me. Installers arrived on time with a large crew and a master electrician and a foreman. Everything was explained. The left absolutely no mess. Everything was cleaned up and all work was done in 1 day as advertised. The Underwriters and the town inspections happened at their own pace and were not controlled by the company.
