I live in Westchester County and decided to remodel my kitchen. I had quotes from 9 different contractors after having the plans done by an architect. The first 8 quotes were all too high and I considered delaying the project for a few years. Ryan's was the final quote and it came in well below the other quotes. The final amount did come in above what he originally quoted, however it was still the lowest of the 9 quotes by about 6 thousand at the end of the project. I did have some concerns in choosing the contractor with a quote that was significantly less than the next lowest quote. I usually choose the guy in the middle, but I could not afford the cost this time. The job was fairly extensive (load bearing walls etc..) and the 26,500 was for the carpentry (not including plumbing and electrical). Ryan acted as the GC for the plumbing and electrical and the prices were fair with quality work. I was very happy with the decision in choosing Ryan for the carpentry. The craftsmanship was excellent and the kitchen looks great. He also helped out with some odds and ends (ie. sink repairs around the house). His weakness is in communication. There were a few occasions when he was supposed to come and did not. However it was extremely difficult to deal with my kitchen designer and architect since they were impossible to reach after I put a deposit down. That did contribute to a project delay (with significant delays in cabinet delivery). Ryan is not at fault for the cabinet issues since I chose my kitchen designer independently of him. Those delays did mess up his schedule with other jobs, so I do understand why the schedule was not always perfect. At the end of the day, quality craftsmanship and price were the most important things for me and I feel like I made the right choice. I would use him again in the future. His brother Bobby was also very helpful with some advice since my kitchen designer's plans were flawed. I took advantage of his suggestions and I am very happy with the results.
