MY THREE SONS CONSTRUCTION

Let me open by stating that we are currently suing this company due to lack of performance. Beware! After the sales pitch, you will find this guy to be a bully, unresponsive and ignorant of your requests. If you request something to be done a certain way, he will ignore you, and do it the way he wants to. As it stands, the brand new roof leaks, I have mold in my closets now and destroyed sheet rock. The plans did not match the measurements of the house, so I have a "room" that is mostly window and closet. Basically a glorified hallway. All of my new windows that he installed are of a different type, as if he used stuff left over from other jobs. We were never consulted as to where we wanted windows, or what size we wanted them to be. There is even a window where my wife Specifically requested there be none. He broke the seal on a picture window that he moved for us, as well as one of the double hung windows in it. My Andersen sliding glass door is not square, and leaks cold air from the stationary window side. He put a coupling inside a wall for the oil line to my oil burner and it too leaks, Totally not code, I find now, and I have to have it repaired. During the construction phase, we were told we would be airtight and warm, as the winter was in full swing here in central NY. They left an air gap in the temporary wall that was over 3/4" wide, and SNOW was blowing into my living room. He ordered the wrong trusses, and put them up when no one was home. Because the were the wrong size, he had to build beams to support them. so now I have a peak to my roof that was not asked for, and the attic space is completely useless. In a home without a basement, the attic was supposed to be precious storage space. Because the addition needed to meet an existing attached garage, the roof on the garage was disturbed, and now leaks as well, and the siding on the garage was not put back the way it should be. The workers were generally slobs, I was constantly picking up garbage when I got home from work. It always seemed like the thought process was "stupid people wont know, just throw it up there". I wont even get into the mess he made of a barn that we asked to be torn down. He had to ask ME if I knew any contractors wit ha backhoe in the area. There were many days where his guys left our job to go to another one, and left things unfinished. There were even several days where NO ONE showed up at all. No reason given, and no notice. He constantly pleaded poverty and asked us repeatedly for extra $. We always felt like he was trying to pull the wool over our eyes. He told me we needed to remove our chimneys. After consulting with a mason, we found this not to be the case. I even had to threaten calling the police to get him off the premises when we fired him. The entire event is a disaster and I now have to live in it. What was supposed to be a 20th anniversary present for my wife, turned into a nightmare.
