,The quality of the workmanship by his crew was excellent! Moreover, Rich Matone had great ideas to facilitate my disability requiring a wheelchair-- widening halls, continuous wood flooring without door sills, enlarging a bathroom to accommodate a larger shower, etc. He also arranged for our use of an unoccupied, first-floor condo instead of a trailer. While being responsive to our needs, he did take a bit longer to complete the work than expected, but it was worth the wait.. Overall, I would highly recommend Matone Construction for home construction and renovation..

He was very professional he showed up on time. He was a friendly and courteous person who was very knowledgeable about his craft. I would use him again in a heartback.

The whole experience was a nightmare. Rich is a very smoothe talker. He is a neighbor and I assumed that he was a friend. We signed a contract for 81,500 with a three month completinon date. He required a 20,000 deposit to get started. After 2 weeks and no significant work having been completed, he told me that he needed another 10,000. Since he was a friend of the family, I gave it to him. He ripped out my kitchen and heat and asked for another payment of 10,000. Sheetrock went up and he asked for more money. We picked out new cabinets and he asked for another 10,000. I reluctantly gave it to him because I thought that he was using that money to pay for the cabinets. (I found out later that it didn't.) He did not order the cabinets and asked for another 10,000 to order them. When I asked him where the money went and The electric, kitchen plumbing and sheetrock went in. 4 months and another went by and no boiler or cabinets. He stopped comming until I paid him. At this point I was so far in the hole without a kitchen or heat. I began purchasing supplies in lieu of paying him. I bought doors, paint, flooring material. He finally got the kitchen and heat in after 7 months of living with my parents. After spending 128,932, we got the restroom installed (although the toilet prevents the door from opening completely), heat and kitchen. The kitchen floor is warped because he installed the floor before the heat was installed. Please, don't use this contractor for your own good.
