Description of Work: Trimmed several trees, cut several trees, and neatly stacked the cut wood for our fireplace. Some trees that we thought would have to be cut were saved. Very professional in all aspects from responsiveness of the office to explanations from the arborist to the actual work.

It was very good. They are very professional. We were very impressed that the owners were certified arborists. They pointed out things we didn’t know, such as a couple trees were diseased and we were probably better to cut them down. It was just a good experience. He was on time, they cleaned up, and an overall good job.

Jordan was thorough and prompt. His workers were courteous. They arrived when they said they would and finished the work in less than a day. They checked with me about where to put the wood I was keeping, and asked what size logs they should cut them into. The areas where they cleared trees out were cleaned nicely.
Description of Work: Took the time to walk around my property and help me to prioritize what needed to be taken care of immediately, as well as what I should be looking at overall. Answered my questions about trees, tree health, which trees presented a problem, and why, and which were strong & healthy. Very knowledgable, cared about the work he was doing. Respectful, reasonably priced.

Overall Jordan and his well run team executed exactly as promised. Further they operated as real professionals, from properly setting expectations to actually cleaning up completely after the job was done. These are clearly specialists and because of the slight premium on price are not likely someone you would simply call for day to day cutting and splitting of firewood. However if you value your trees, care about the aesthetic effect on your property, and/or the health and well being of your trees (not to mention the safety of nearby buildings), there is no question these are the guys to do the work. They will also tackle any complexity of job using their climbing and tool skills to execute it correctly and safely. Ordinarily I would have been nervous having someone scale a 70' tree to do pruning work, but Jordan was clearly a skilled and experienced climber. They provided so many "free" bits of advice and knowledge above and beyond the tree work itself , that for me the premium was well worth it. There are so many fly-by-night companies that claim to do tree service but ultimately don't have the skills and background to do complex or high value work, its a comfort to know that Jordan and his team know what they are doing. Overall a very satisfactory experience and I will use them again in the future when necessary.
Description of Work: I had Limber tree service pay two visits, the first for the estimate, the second for the work. During the first visit Jordan, a *licensed arborist* walked my property and evaluated all the trees on the property assessing them for safety, health and aesthetics. Jordan is clearly extremely knowledgeable about all three subjects. After prioritizing the work based on need and cost he provided me a detailed estimate with all of the options. We wound up removing several large limbs from some trees and raising the canopy of others that dramatically increased visual appeal of the property. They also removed some difficult to access standing dead trees and cut them up for me to use as firewood. In the process Jordan with his extensive knowledge answered all my questions about the health of a great many trees on my property. For example, another "landscaper" looked at a huge 3-trunk dead tree and mis-identified it as one that would not work well for firewood. When Jordan saw it he immediately identified it as a superior tree for firewood resulting in 2+ chords of low priced wood that it made the slight premium they charge immediately worth it as it would have gone unused if I listened to the less experienced provider.

Contacted him via Angie's list. He came out took a survey of our property. He noted significant problems, a cedar tree that was seriously encroaching on our house, and he responded our "dead tree" and "deaf limb" problems. Very professional and seemed to really know his business. I felt confident in what he said.

The one thing I would advise, is not to take down trees unnecessarily.. I was encouraged to take down some smaller trees near the house because they were near the telephone lines.. but in fact it left a bad haircut feel visually from the pov of the upper window views. I should have spent more time thinking it over. Otherwise despite the massive tree that came down and several others that were necessary to take down they did a great job and cleaned up afterward. I also asked them to leave piled some of t he oak tree which I later had split afterward by someone else.
Description of Work: took down several trees: large dead oak about 60' to protect house.. and ground very large stump.. several smaller maples and hickory trees and a larger "widow maker" that had become split and was arching too over on its split trunk.

Response from Limber Tree Services Inc
One of the aesthetically hardest types of work we do as Arborists is line clearance work... it's a "necessary evil" in that it is important to protect incoming utility wires from contact with tree limbs and yet it rarely "looks good" to have what I call "the tunnel effect" around you wires. I completely understand and sympathize with the member's comment... sometimes it is hard to get a read on how aggressive a customer wants us to be doing line clearance work and I apparently mis-read this member's willingness to remove the saplings growing right up into the wires.

It went very well. Jordan gave us good advice on what to take down and what to leave, from an aesthetic as well as a technical/safety perspective. I think he has good judgment and a balanced approach. He and his crew were pleasant, professional, and highly skilled. His estimates were accurate, and his billing was transparent, broken down in terms of time and hourly rates. In the end it was a lot of work and money, but I think he gave good value and I will definitely use him again.
Description of Work: They took down many dead and diseased trees, including one very large one, thinned out some wooded areas of saplings, cleared some sight lines, and chipped and disposed of dead wood.

This experience was a very good one for me, after several years of dealing with various kinds of contractors, some ok, some not-so-ok. Sometimes a good person with a good work ethic would not know what he needed to know and the job would have to be done over by someone else. Often, providers would show up if and when they felt like it and not when scheduled, or would not return calls, or some other kind of nonsense like this, and I was not alone. One after another, neighbors, friends, coworkers would describe their own horror stories at various kinds of contractors and how a job was messed up in one way or another. It has been extremely difficult to find good people to do good work, and respect the customer (me) at the same time. This experience with Limber Tree Services renewed my faith and trust in the possibility of professionalism! These guys were absolutely terrific and took themselves and their work seriously. The job itself was done cleanly and well, and the cleanup afterwards was exceptional. I would definitely call upon them again for tree work and I have already recommended them to two other people who had been waiting to hear how it went with the Big Tree.
Description of Work: In my tiny back yard, there was a very, very large (huge!) white pine in a tight spot among several near structures. The main trunk was very large in diameter and quite high, leaning toward my garage, with four tree-size secondary trunks growing up out of it, each one also quite large and reaching in different directions. The tree was higher than any other in the neighborhood and clearly visible on Google Earth! It was a very healthy tree and grew rapidly each year, and as the years went on, any lightning or high wind became extremely terrifying and I felt my own house and my neighbors' houses were increasingly at risk. It was quite an experience to even have a tree service call me back when I wanted to get some estimates. At the end, I had received several estimates to take it down and had gotten as far as an appointment with one provider, but that one, never showed up and didn t call. Limber Tree Services, however, was quite a different experience. Jordan Voelker, the proprietor (an ISA certified arborist), returned my call and came to do an estimate when he said he would. He was professional, courteous, responsive, and kept his word at every turn. He communicated with me readily both by phone and email and worked with me to establish a payment plan. When he couldn't come on the day of the appointment, he called the night before and explained why. He came the following day and his team of six, plus two crane operators, worked for two days straight taking the tree down. Afterwards, he cleaned everything up on my property and took it all away. The crew had had to use my rear neighbor's back yard to access the tree, and the heavy trucks and the crane caused some severe damage to her lawn. Jordan s crew returned on the following Monday and completely repaired and re-seeded the lawn. I am extremely grateful for Jordan's wonderful work ethic and professionalism, and I enjoyed chatting with his crew members as they were finishing the cleanup. (They even cleaned the gutters on my garage!) I felt my tree was in good hands and this experience went a long way toward restoring my trust in service providers. I definitely recommend him to anyone who needs tree services in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
