The exterior of our natural wood home had not been well maintained in years. We called on Scott because of his previous work on homes in our neighborhood. He surveyed the home, gave me a quote, but explained that the job might require some additional work, based on the poor condition. He located a new type of cleaner that would do a more thorough job, and showed me how it would look if I used that product, and I agreed. Scott worked for about a month (some rain delays) and always made sure that I understood what he was doing, and why. The cost of the work mounted, however, because of the additional product cost, and time required to apply it. Scott revised his estimate about half-way through the project, and we decided not to have the extra work done to the back of the house, which lowered the final estimate. The results of the job are fabulous - our house looks wonderful and is now one consistent color. The cost of the job was about $1800 above the original estimate, but I'm glad that we had Scott take the additional step to make it look good. My suggestion - get a second estimate in writing as soon as a contractor says that the job may cost more.

Response from Grillo Painting
[Member Name Removed] was a wonderful customer with concerns of me being able to make her exterior wood look uniform with consistent natural wood look throughout the front and 2 sides of the substrate. The project was a challenging and difficult one which took time. The horizontal wood clap boards were almost actually black in some sections of the home and with out given my secrets away if was a 3 step process that took some nurturing. I loved the challenge and we were both extremely happy with the results. Thank you again [Member Name Removed] for the opportunity and God Bless.
