Mr. Rizzo and his employee were here several times during the course of the job. I had no complaints during that time. Soon after the job was completed, I noticed a very unsightly area where the pipe, that connects to the outside a.c. unit, comes through the brick wall of my house. White caulk ..or some kind of sealant.. had been applied around the pipe to fully close the opening in the colored brick. Unfortunately, that sealant was also heavily applied on the house brick, in a 1" - 2" outside the opening with splatters radiating out even further. I live in a Preservation District, and my house, an English Tudor which was build in 1919, has lovely, rigged, muti-colored brick on the bottom half. The sloppily applied white caulk is not only a glaringly wrong color, but the way it was spread out on the brick is a huge eyesore and something one's eye is drawn to when looking at the house. I called and emailed Mr. Rizzo several times, asking that this be corrected. He got back to me once and said he would correct the problem within the next week or so. He never showed up. and when I recently tried to remove the white caulk from the brick, the portion sealing in the pipe has broken into pieces so now there is an opening for creatures etc. to enter the basement. The a.c and heating work performed by Mr. Rizzo appears to be working correctly, but I find the fact he is unwilling to correct very sloppy "visual" work disappointing and would never use him again or recommend him to anyone. Instead, I have made friends aware that this company is one they need to avoid.
Description of Work: A contractor who was doing over $300,000.00 worth of work on my house hired Frank Rizzo to install a heating and a.c. unit that was for a room addition, The rest of the house is heated with steam heat radiators. I do not know the what amount the contractor paid him. I have an attorney involved trying to resolve several issues regarding questionable charges that arose near the end of the job with the contractor, Fred R. Steele, so cannot call on them to resolve the problem created by Frank Rizzo. Since the date of service was spread over a period of time and your form does not allow for anything other than a specific date, I entered a date that may not be correct. The work on the addition was spread out from the fall of '10 through the early summer of '11.
