Aaron Preston's Landscape Service Inc

We had 5 very tall trees that were leaning over 30-40 degrees and it was not safe for a climber, and they were near power lines in the backyard. This company is one of the few nearby who have a knuckle boom crane which lets them grab the trees from the top, cut them, and bring the sections down to the ground.

In April 2009, my wife and I hired Aaron Preston?s Landscape Service, Inc. to install a perimeter walkway installed around our deck in our backyard and sidewalk leading to a two-step portico at the front entrance of our house. The material used for both installations were brick pavers. In 2013, I noticed the front portico beginning to sink slightly in one corner. I did not think too much about it at the time. I attributed it to some settling. In the spring of 2014, almost the entire portico was noticeably sinking and pulling away from the house. I contacted Aaron Preston in April of 2014, and he came out to give us an estimate to repair the portico in addition to some extra minor work in the backyard not related to the original installation. He said his crew would be doing a job in the area and he would be able to do the work in a few weeks. A few weeks went by and I did not hear from him. To make a long story short I made three phone calls over the course of the summer - the last one on 9/15/14 - to find out when he was going to perform the work he said he would do back in April. I never heard from him. Fast forward to March 2015. The portico has sunk at least 3 ? 4+ inches now. I'm not sure if I want to spend any more time trying to contact Aaron Preston. I may search for another company that will do the work as promised. I don?t recommend Aaron Preston?s Landscape Service, Inc. mainly because of the lack of customer service after the installation and suspect workmanship.

I used this company on/off for several years. I was happy with their dependable service getting my driveway cleared before I had to leave for work. However, their pricing is much higher than other companies. I have tried cheaper services and found them to be less reliable.

It wasn't done top notch. For lack of a better term, he promised more than he actually followed through it. I would not recommend them.

Did a great job. Only glitch was we got alot of crabgrass in lawn. Aaron came back twice and overseeded at no cost. Also gave us guidance on how to prevent in future.

Our front yard was a mess from a very large tree removed but the previous company left the stump. The Prestons removed the stump and completely leveled the front yard and planted new grass. They removed our old porch and steps and dug up the entire sidewalk. They installed new steps, porch, and walkway with awesome stone pavers. They then cleared the entire front of the house of all debris and all the old concrete and stone. What a fabulous job. They also followed up and re-seeded the lawn where it was needed. They then followed up again to make sure everything was in order. Best contractor we have ever worked with.

He spent a half hour with us asking questions and taking notes. Then he did some measurements and left, assuring us we would hear from him with the estimate in a week or so. We thanked him and told him we were anxious to start the job. After waiting almost three weeks with no word, I called to follow up, asking the receptionist (also his mother) if we could get the estimate out. I gave her all of the details and asked her to please see if Aaron could get back to us soon as we wanted to get started. She assured us she would let him know. Over 4 weeks later and we have still heard nothing. Very disappointing. Excellent results on the work he did, but we never heard back. Even common courtesy dictates a simple phone call with a reason for not hearing anything. I won't use him again.

We had Aaron Preston's Landscape Service come out and do some lawn repair at our house. Aaron Preston was prompt when he came out to provide an estimate and was prompt to perform the work. We were very impressed with Aaron Preston’s work. The lawn repair looked GREAT and he put topsoil and seed over the ruts caused by his equipment. We were very pleased with the work, UNTIL we found about 50 shards of glass in the new topsoil, the size of a quarter and smaller, with other pieces of glass probably yet to be found. I have small children who run in the lawn barefoot, even when told to wear shoes, and I am concerned that they might get glass in their feet. When I brought this to the attention of Aaron Preston's Landscape Service, they didn't return phone calls promptly; I had to initiate every phone call. Every time that their receptionist told me what Aaron Preston said about this glass situation, it was clear that he didn't think that this was a problem and that it was not an issue worth his time. Today, I finally had my one and only telephone conversation with Aaron Preston, 17 days after my first call to report the problem, and asked for a discount on the cost of the lawn repair, because he never offered any other remedy. This was the first time I had ever "met" Aaron Preston, as my husband had been the contact person for this project. When I talked to Aaron and explained the situation, he basically told me that I was the only person to have a complaint with the topsoil he uses; that he didn't make enough on the job to discount it (even though he wrote the estimate); and that I am a DISHONEST PERSON WHO IS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A SITUATION SO I DON'T HAVE TO PAY the entire amount for the work completed. I told him that I was insulted by his slanderous assault on my integrity and that I didn't think he is very business-like to make a conversation over a problem with his work into a personal attack on my integrity. Aaron Preston was not going to reduce our bill, until I told him that I would be making a complaint on Angie's List. Thereafter, he finally consented to give us $100.00 off the cost of our bill, which was approximately $1,300.00. Aaron Preston has not yet sent us a bill for his work. We will wait to receive the bill (with the agreed upon reduction of $100.00) with bated breath and hope that the bill is for the correct amount. Had we not had this problem with the glass, and more importantly, if Aaron Preston hadn’t handled our conversation the way he did today, we would have given him an excellent rating!

This is my second review for Aaron's services (see 10/17/2011). I had him come back to do some work because of my previous experience with him. Once again, excellent overall experience. Price, results, dependability and simplicity in dealings were all A+. Highly recommended.

There were low spots in my and my neighbor's back yard. Aaron suggested solving the issue with re-grading and was the only one of the three estimates we got who suggested this solution. The other two suggested a much more expensive solution of buried cisterns and/or french drains that may not have solved the problem longer term. When asked about top soil/re-grading as an alternative solution, they grudgingly agreed that it would work. While they provided price estimates for the re-grading, they were more expensive than Aaron. It should be noted that, without any prompting, Aaron suggested that we NOT use the french drain approach because of the additional and unnecessary expense and suspect long-term results. All three companies I contacted for estimates were highly rated on Angie's List. The other two firms were consistently rated as excellent, but expensive. Aaron was simply rated excellent. I suspect the other two firms are forced to charge higher prices because of their office, labor and equipment overhead. Aaron brought a helper and a small Bobcat to move the topsoil into place as it was delivered. Hands on approach by the owner to get the work done. Someone who is very direct/straight-forward and who takes a simple, no BS approach that I very much appreciated. He explained how he would do the job (and why) and did the work as explained for the money agreed. A week after the work was completed, we had 4-5 days of hard rain. The results indicate success - no more low spots / pooling. Aaron's basic/simple approach, pricing, knowledge and quality of the work dictate that I recommend him without reservation. In fact, I will be using him to trim my extensive landscaping and refresh my mulch beds every year because of the work described above.

I liked their service, friendliness and cooperation with what I suggested them to do. Their work seems to be holding up pretty well. I would rate them highly and would probably use them again in the future.

Always shows up on same day, cuts, trims and edges lawn in about 15 min. Very friendly and courteous. Absolutely no pressure. My daughter and 3 neighbors use him as well.

We have contracted for them to do the work. They were great. They responded quickly and showed up when they said they would. They gave us the quote while on site. They were very professional to deal with.

They were very thorough about everything and there was no hidden fees or cost. They were also very professional and got the job done in amazingly short amount of time. I really don't have anything bad to say about them and am very impressed with their quality of service. There was a problem that they damaged the flower garden a little and we did seek some reimbursement from them which they did provide.
