This wasn't a crisis, just routine maintenance for an older house. They were friendly and efficient.

We had a small sinkhole develop in our front yard near the water shutoff and I appeared to be an issue with the sewer line. I called Tom around lunch and said that he was in the area and would come by after he finished his current job. He showed up at 6:00 only about 1/2 hour after he said he'd be there. We inspected the sinkhole in the front yard together and he said it is a fairly common problem that he has encountered frequently in his 45+ years of experience. I wanted him to do a camera inspection of the sewer lateral but he said that in all his years he has never actually "seen" anything that showed a break in the line. Since we weren't experiencing any back-ups of any sort we decided that the camera was really the only way to diagnose the problem without digging the whole thing up. After a couple of stories (he sure can talk), Tom got the camera down the line and found, much to my chagrin, a section of sewer line that had separated and dropped. He said it was the first time he said seen it, but it was most definitely my issue. Afterwards he cleaned everything up and after a few more stories was on his way. He doesn't do sewer lateral replacement but would send his "digger" over to take a look and give us a quote. I'm very pleased with the whole process and will definitely use Tom again for any drain/sewer cleaning. He is excellent at his work and genuinely seems to enjoy it. I would unreservedly recommend Rotor-Matic to any one in need.

He cleared out the sewer line from the house to the street. Explained everything he was doing. Then used a camera to look inside the pipe to see what the problem was that was giving him trouble getting through. A few days later the pipe was backing up again. He came back and worked on it until he found the problem. There was another pipe with trap that the original owners put into the sewer line that was the real source of the problem. He worked a couple of hours and only charged us for cleaning out the second pipe/trap. Tom did an excellent job and will definitely use him for any future plumbing issues.

Late in the evening on 9/10/2014 we discovered that our pipes were backing up into our basement. First thing 9/11/2014, I searched on Angie's list for plumbers and came across Rotor-Matic Plumbing & Pipe Cleaning. They had rather good reviews so I called. We were told that one person had called prior to us and they could be at our home by 10am. While waiting, we shop vacuumed our pipes and thought that we had found the clog. We cancelled our appointment and proceeded to take a shower... That was until the pipes started to back up again. We called Rotor-Matic back and were placed back on the service list. Prior to 10am, two gentlemen came to our home and were able to clear our pipes. We were told that the roots which were removed were several years old. We found this rather interesting because less than 6 months prior, we had Rotor-Rooter come out to do the same thing. We were charged nearly twice as much and the technician was only there for approximately 20 minutes. Obviously we did not get what we paid for. We were very happy with the service and professionalism provided by Rotor-Matic and will use them in the future for our plumbing needs.

Main drain inside house became clogged on a Sunday evening. I called and got voice mail. Tom called back within 5 minutes taking a break from his dinner to do so. Tom arrived within 2 hours and unclogged the drain in our finished basement without making mess. He was professional, courteous and fair priced. I was told by another top rated plumber with 24/7 service that this was a 2 man job and would have to wait till morning. Tom assured me on the phone that he could fix the problem without making a mess and he came through.

I put in a call at 6:30 pm on a Friday evening (after 3 calls to other places who wouldn't or couldn't come out). Tom was very professional on the phone, telling me he was finishing up another job, and would come over when he was done. He arrived at my house an hour later. He quickly assessed the problem, and took the time to teach me about the main line plumbing in my home. Tom efficiently snaked out the line, explaining the process the whole way through. He is a very kind, friendly man, and professional through and through. I greatly appreciated his service and found the fee to be quite fair (I've been through this on a previous home and it cost me over $300 and I had a recurring problem 6 months later - Roto-Rooter). Tom gave me a 90 day guarantee with this job. I will definitely call him again for any plumbing needs, and will refer him to my friends.

It was quickly obvious that the owner (Tom) was very knowledgeable on cleaning out drains. This company was chosen because of the positive rating on Angie's List coupled with the fact that he was willing to quote me a price over the phone, whereas some other companies wanted to charge me a fee to come to give an assessment and an estimate of the job. He was very professional and explained the process throughout. I received an education on how an interior drainage system works, and how best to care for it properly. They were at the house approximately one hour, and I watched their work throughout. They seemed to do their very best to free the drain of much of the sediment that was within the drain....it will never be perfect, but it seems to be much better. I will call this company back every 4 or 5 years for preventive maintenance....that is my very best endorsement.. They seem professional, knowledgeable, reasonably priced and honest.

They just kind of delivered on the price and they did what they said they were going to do. He's a little difficult to get a hold of to get a schedule so that took a little while. Other than that, I was pretty happy.

Completely resolved issue and cleared clog completely.

There was water rising through my floor drain . I Called Rotor-Matic at 6 pm. He was here by 8:00 pm. He would have been here sooner but he was on a previous call. He spent over an hour cleaning out a sewer line that was clogged with tree roots. He was courteous and professional. The charge was very fair. No additional charge for emergency or night service.

I used Rotor-Matic Plumbing & Pipe Cleaning Inc and they did an excellent job. I had a frozen pipe. The people at Rotor-Matic Plumbing & Pipe Cleaning Inc actually came right up and took care of it. The job went very well considering when they called and when I described the problem they said it was probably going to be frozen drain line and if it was a PVC line, which it turned out that it was, that there may not be anything that they can do and it might be stuck until spring, but they were ready to come out and work the magic and clear it. I am happy with Rotor-Matic Plumbing & Pipe Cleaning Inc because of Just the promptness of the service. I mean, here in the north east where you live when it gets cold, everybody is calling them and they squeezed me right into the next day after I called. Rotor-Matic Plumbing & Pipe Cleaning Inc gave me a price, showed up right on time, did a quick look at what they thought it might be. They said that they don't think that it was frozen let us try something, they tried a couple of things, they cleaned up whatever mess they made. After the job Rotor-Matic Plumbing & Pipe Cleaning Inc sent me a thank you card for my business which, you know, a lot of companies don’t take the time to do that while you spend money with them but I got a thank you card in less than a couple of days than they being out there.

This company was recommended by the manufacturer of our heater. We jokingly called the company "Ninja" because we didn't see them at the times they claimed they were out. My husband even took a day off work once to be here and they didn't come. They said they changed a part and billed us for it. It still didn't work after they fixed it. They came out another time when we were home and wouldn't look at my husband while speaking with him. They stood around for about an hour without listening to my husband. It only took them 10 minutes to fix the problem at that point. We still had to call another company to come out and make the repairs.

The job that they did was good. I didn’t have any problem. They got it unclogged. The price was probably reasonable. It was a little high but I had other estimates and they were reasonable. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Called and spoke with service manager. Made an appointment within 2 days. Technician arrived on time, uniformed and friendly. He performed the work, cleaned up and I paid the bill as I was quoted on the telephone.

The usual: Dinner time, throw in a load of laundry for morning, start dinner, basement begins to flood.

Answered phone promptly on a Saturday morning. Responded within a couple of hours. Unclogged drain and completed the service.

We called hoping for same-day service, and they did show up on the same day. They snaked the main house drain with a power snake that was able to cut through the tree roots that apparently caused the problem. Cleaned up where they had worked once they were done. Not sure how the price compares to other options, as we didn't shop around.
