+ -1 moreIn planning my move from Long Island to upstate NY (about a four-hour drive for commercial vehicles), I decided it made the most sense to use a moving company closer to my destination than my starting point, so that at the end of the day the moving crew would not have to drive another four hours to get home. Although Long Island is not within Lamanna's usual service area, owner Steve Lamanna went out of his way to accommodate me, and gave me a fair and reasonable estimate. Due to heavy traffic and GPS misdirection, the moving truck arrived later than expected, but the moving crew kept me apprised of their progress, and got to work immediately when they arrived. All three were delightful and personable gentlemen (truly), who worked diligently, efficiently and carefully to load and unload my belongings. Although Moving Day wound up being far longer than any of us had anticipated, the crew never displayed anything other than the utmost professionalism, and were as careful and considerate at the end of the day as they were at the beginning. I have nothing but praise for Steve Lamanna and his crew, and would recommend their services to anyone.

+ -1 moreWorking with Lamanna was as easy as could be. The owner Steve is very responsive to texts and phone calls, and the crew on the day of the move was excellent. Everyone hustled from the first minute to the last, and we were moved into our new house much faster than we expected. We would highly recommend Lamanna Moving for anyone moving in the capital district.

+ -1 moreSteve Lamanna was our hero! After getting stiffed by Any Day Movers (worst company we have EVER dealt with) we called Mr. Lamanna in a panic. With only a few short days until our house closing he got a crew to our house and loaded a truck so we could move to Florida. He doesn't do long distance, but he took care of us and was able to empty our house into a rental truck so that we could drive ourselves. They showed up on time and handled our belongings with care. We ended up using them twice because Adam from Any Day Movers told us that everything we had would fit into one truck which was completely wrong. If you want dependability and care call Steve Lamanna. Thanks guys!

Description of Work: Needed to move a 3 bedroom house of 1700 sq ft about 12 miles. The house is 22 minutes from Lamanna's location per Google Maps. They did not want to dive all that way to give an estimate.

Description of Work: I had scheduled a move from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom apartment. The owner spoke to my mother on the phone and worked everything out. They seemed to have great prices and they were available. | |My scheduled time for the movers was 9am. They showed up at 8:30. (One thing that I was surprised is that they never called before hand to confirm anything). The movers were awesome. Personable and they did a great job. | |There was only one issue. When it came time to pay the bill. It seems there was a miscommunication. We were not aware that we had to pay for their travel time. It took them 15 minutes to get to my place and 15 minutes to get back to the lot. However we were being charged for an extra hour instead of half an hour. When we tried to work this out at the time, the owner's son said he was not able to do anything. He called his father. There was an argument between the owner and my mother. It became pretty heated. I paid the bill and said that I was very upset with the service. | |About an hour after the movers left, and everyone had calmed down the owner called me. We were able to work out our issue. We both acknowledged there was a miscommunication and he offered to refund me half an hour. Today I received that check in the mail and I am satisfied. Other than the big miscommunication with the price and time, the movers were awesome.

Description of Work: Moved several pieces of furniture to two different addresses. Mover had to plan on how to load the furniture on the truck to be delivered. It went very well and was completed very efficiently.

+ -1 moreIt could not have gone better. It was not a simple move because it involved a piano on the second floor and a couch in the basement that barely fit up the stairs. Everyone on the Lamanna team was very polite and helpful. They all went out of their way to make certain that they were doing what we wanted. They delivered the television to our unit and took the time to connect the television and DVD to our new cable box. Steve pointed out what we should do to get the best picture as we switch to the new remote and cable system. He also stabilized a wall unit that was on a floor that was not precisely level. I can go on; however, everything went perfectly and there is little more to add. If you want a mover you can depend on, Lamanna Moving is exceptional, in our opinion. We had a very good experience, and we recommend Lamanna Moving without any reservation.
Description of Work: Steve Lamanna and four other men arrived precisely as agreed and carefully moved our furniture and household goods, including a piano on the second floor and couch from the basement, to two destinations. They drove first to a storage facility where they unloaded via an elevator to the second floor items intended for our son. Thereafter, they proceeded to Saratoga Springs where they moved our furniture, paintings, household goods and other belongings to our third floor condo unit.

+ -1 moreSteve called to confirm the date of the move two days before, which I appreciated. On the day of our move, The crew arrived on time and ready to start. Their attention to detail was above and beyond my expectations. They very carefully prepped our furniture for the transport. They were extremely careful not to damage either residence during their work. They worked tirelessly, to complete this move in a little over eight hours. Steve and his men were very polite, attentive to our wishes, and very detail oriented! We were extremely pleased with their job performance and highly recommend them as professionals who care and take time to do their job, well!
Description of Work: Steve and his crew of three men removed our furniture and other belongings from our home. Everything was loaded onto his truck and transported to our new home. They took apart the large furniture and reassembled all of it, at the new residence. All items were placed exactly where we requested on both levels of the home.
