If we were lucky enough to get these guys to show up, they would miss spots all over the place, throw weeds and branches out to the curb without bagging them, which is not permitted in the town of colonie. Everytime these guys cut my lawn, I would always have to wash my car the next day because it was covered in grass due to their carelessness, which is extremely unprofessional in my opinion. While the price for the lawn cutting was reasonable, I didn't like the quality or punctuality. Most certainly will never be using these guys ever again.

Cody was hired to build a patio out of in an area that was appox. 8' x 15'. The only good that came out of the job was quality of stone, which I picked out. No edging placed around pavers to hold pavers in place. As a result, pavers have shifted. Improper paver sand used as majority of sand has washed out. No machine used to shack and pack sand in place. Broken pavers were used and he was instructed not to use broken pavers. He does not have a cutting tool to cut pavers so pavers were snapped as deemed appropriate. To top it off, 3 workers performed the job that could have been done by one. Cody was also hired to do yard work, which included mowing and weed whacking. Although the price is good, it is reasonable for quality of work, Never on time. Does not let you know on what day or at what time he will be arriving to do yard work. Never the same day from week to week. Per contract, mowing is suppose to cease 9/30. This was not the case. Weed whacking also included whaking bushes, which was not a good thing. Lawn was never racked subsequent mowing.
Description of Work: 1) Install patio 2) Yard work.
The edging and the mulching were done fairly well, but the brick patio was a big disappointment. They removed the old bricks and stacked them for reuse, dug out the lawn for the rest of the patio and then laid a gravel base to lay the bricks on. When they began unloading the additional bricks for the rest of the patio, I commented that the bricks were different - the new bricks were thinner and slightly wider than the old bricks. (I think the new bricks were some kind of "landscaping" bricks and the old ones were from an actual masonry supply business.) Cody told us he wasn't able to find bricks that matched the old ones and assured us this was no problem and he could make it work. Starting the job, everything went well and looked terrific. Cody painstakingly placed each brick into position, using a small hand level and a rubber mallet. He did not, however, put up any kind of leveling string to help maintain the full grade, depending instead completely on his eye and hand level. Unfortunately, as the job progressed and time constraints began to impose themselves, the quality of the work began to deteriorate and by the time he was finished the patio looked less than perfect. The mismatch between the old and new bricks is very apparent, as there is an obvious join where the basket weave pattern loses alignment between the old and the new. Partially because of this mismatch, I assume, at some point in the brick laying, the patio went slightly out of square, creating a gap between bricks that widens from nothing at the center of the patio to about two inches on the outer edge. Some this this was filled in with cut brick, but the rest was just left as a slash of brick sand. In addition, there are two low spots which now hold pools of water when it rains and look like the bricks are sinking into holes when it's dry. Needless to say, we are not pleased. It does not look like the professional brick patio we thought we paid for - it looks like a rather bad, semi-skilled, do-it-yourself job. And although we have been very satisfied with Cody's previous work, we probably will not be using his services again in the future. Additionally, since we had used Cody successfully in the past & have spent a great deal of money with him over the past 2 years, we felt comfortable in contacting him to ask for some form of assistance with making the patio better, without having to incur more cost. This did not go well & Cody was clear that he disagreed with our assessment of deteriorating work product throughout the course of the job.
Description of Work: Fix landscaping edge where it was damaged by driveway repaving, mulch driveway plantings, remove small brick walkway & replace with large brick patio.

He is a really good worker. I like him because he has a lot of skills in a lot of different areas. He is willing to work really hard and he shows up when he says he is going to. He is pretty much independent and sometimes has a helper. He gives you an estimate for the work and also breaks it down to the penny. He always returns change. He is very punctual and he is very reasonable. He has done a lot of things that other people wouldn?t do. He is very handy. His printed material leaves a lot to be desired.
Description of Work: I used Cody's Contracting in November.
