ADVANCE GLASS INC

Everything was fine at first. On Oct 4, 2013, I dropped off the frame of a broken basement window for glass replacement. The frame needed double glass. I was told it would take about 10 business days and that they would call me when it was ready for pick up. I was given the price ($60) and told a deposit was needed. They take cash or check only (no debit or credit). I left a $20 deposit. On Oct 31 I phoned to ask if the window was ready and left a voice message asking for someone to return my call. When no one called me back, I left another message on Nov 3. When no one returned that call, I called on Nov 6 and spoke with an older woman. I asked about the window and was told gruffly that the window was ready. Without waiting for me to reply, she hung up (not even a 'goodbye'). I went to pick it up and was treated very rudely. It seemed that I was interrupting some small talk going on in the front of the store. When I said I was there to pick up my basement window, the woman behind the front desk (possibly the same one I spoke with on the phone) got it from the back and placed it against the wall behind the front desk (no smile, no greeting, definitely no small talk). She didn't mince words - "$44.80" was all she said. I handed over the cash, took the change, and had to reach behind the counter to get the window as this woman went back to her desk. As I left the store, I was determined to find a different glass replacement business for the future. Although nothing overtly horrid happened, my experience with Advance Glass in Watervliet was very unpleasant. They did not contact me when my window was fixed, they did not return my two messages, and the woman who waited on me today was extremely rude. I do not recommend this place of business.
