This sole proprietor/realtor/property manager is OUTRAGEOUS!!! 4 days after my husband returned from Iraq & our marriage we viewed 1 of Joan's listed rentals, on 1acre of wooded land. The home was supposedly built in 2005, however the stench of mildew & dampness was horrific. Joan claimed the house had sat empty for some time & the landscaping kept the area damp. Once the home was "lived in" normally the smell would go away. For a month, my husband stayed at the house cleaning, painting, & making safety repairs before the kids & I moved up from home. We continually complained about the water for two months. Joan continuously claimed there was nothing wrong & refused to send anyone out. We hired a plumber ourselves who found the lines just from the pressure pump into the house were so clogged & corroded that an arrow could not pass through without pushing pounds of crud out. Joan was so "offended" she threatened to have the owner evict us. We were never allowed to talk to the owner!

They were good realtors.

The house we got was older so it needed greater upkeep. There was a pool in the back yard. With a 1 year old running around, I wasn't interested in having a pool. It took several months for NNY homes to remove the pool and even longer for them to put up fencing. Then, one one of the steps broke making going up and down stairs dangerous. This is an immediate fix type thing. Joan Goerni screwed around and thought she had to contact the owner to have it fixed. If it were something nonessential/ cosmetic, yes contact the owner but for something like this a rental agency doesn't need permission. Anyway, Joan Goerni went with some incompetent semi retired guy who did a horrible job and broke the step again. When I told Joan Goerni that the guys work sucked, Joan got personally offended. All in all, Joan Goerni and her son are incompetent and rude. I tried to have them blacklisted from fort drum housing.
