Eldi Landscaping Services is committed to excellence every aspect of our business. We uphold a standard of integrity bound by fairness, honesty and responsibility in all of our jobs. We are a locally owned and operated business with more than 02 years of experience serving Albany, NY and surrounding areas. There is no job too big, or too small for our team. Call today and let us put our experience to work for you!
"Summary: Quality work for the most part, but may shake you down for more money to complete the job, so make sure that you get your contract in writing. Detail: I had just purchased a new home and needed to have an old retaining wall re-built on short notice, as well as have a drain installed due to some erosion causing the wall itself and the brick flower beds below it to become misaligned and lose structural integrity. I contacted a few companies including Eldi Landscaping. After receiving a rather high initial estimate in person of $16,000 to repair the wall, install the drain, and re-align the flower beds at the bottom of the wall, with a 10 year guarantee, I let Eldi know that I would compare his pricing to that of the other companies I reached out to and would let them know if we decided to go with them. He later texted me and lowered his offer to $13,800 to use new material, or $8,800 to do the job with my existing slate. $8,800 was a great price, we were strapped for cash from the new home purchase, and the stone was still in good condition, so I let him know we were on board with that. The work was started quickly and finished over the course of 3 days. The wall looks good and has been holding up well. However, on the last day he called me downstairs and told me that he wasn't going to fix the flower beds at the bottom of the wall unless we paid an extra $2000. I protested this and reminded him that we had discussed the full job being completed, including that section, and that he offered $8800 to complete the job without my prompting him for a lower price. At this point he essentially told me that he wasn't going to complete the job unless we agreed to pay him the extra money. I looked through my texts with him to find something in writing and realized that he was very careful to not mention specifics about the job in writing and kept all the details of the work that he promised would be completed to phone discussions. In the interest of not having them leave the job half done (while we were having this discussion, the wall was torn down and the hill it was built into all dug up), I stupidly agreed to pay him the extra money. I had offers from other contractors that were lower than the $10,800 I ended up paying, and went with Eldi because they offered the lowest price. I may have gone with another contractor if they quoted me what I actually ended up paying. It was pretty much my own fault for not getting our agreement in writing, but I'm a new homeowner without much experience working with contractors and I feel that Eldi took advantage of this to strong arm me out of more money than we agreed to. Additionally, when they left the job, they did not completely clean up, and filled one flower bed with small rocks (which is what we asked for), and the other with patches of grass, small boulders, and dirt that they had torn up from the hill while working. I later had to pay for a dumpster and remove all of this myself. As I said, the work itself turned out pretty good and was completed quickly. But if you end up working with this company, make sure that everything you need done, including a full cleanup, is documented in writing, with a specified price and signatures from both parties. Otherwise you may find yourself the victim of the classic contractor shake down that I unfortunately fell victim to."

"We met Christian at the HVCC garden show and his pond & waterfall displays, and enthusiasm, caught our attention. When he came to our yard for an appraisal he immediately had an eye for exactly the best location for a waterfall feature along our garden fencescaping. His recommendations sounded intriguing so we trusted his vision. When Christian showed up for the job he had all the building materials he needed, as well as boulders, rocks and stones of all sizes organized by size in pails. He outlined his plans and convinced me to allow the waterfall feature to take a little more space than I originally had in mind. I'm so glad he did....if anything, in retrospect, I wish I had agreed to make it even bigger! I needed to dig out and relocate a whole section of our garden perennials in preparation for the project, but it was worth all the effort. Oh my gosh, what amazing work Christian does! In two days (!) he transformed this huge dug out crater of dirt into a natural looking landscape of banked boulders, tiered waterfalls, and little wells of water among "spilling" rocks and stones. He left pockets of dirt for us to personalize with plants and flowers and even finished the details with driftwood and moss he had foraged from woods and riverbanks. Each of the three waterfalls are uplighted which makes for a mystical look at night. It seems the happier we were with the ongoing results the more ideas he came up with to please us. I start and end each day with a cup of coffee by our waterscape, relaxing with the sounds of a running mountain stream. We are beyond thrilled with the results! Christian is professional, hard working, and responsive to your questions and concerns, and is only a phone call away when you need a little advice about maintenance. In a time of questionable commitment from contractors it has been a pleasure to have one who lives up to your trust in every possible way. Artists use their favorite medium to create art.....paint, marble, wood, fabric. Christian creates art from dirt and stone and his vision transforms into a masterpiece. Thank you, Christian. You are an amazing artist."

It might seem counterintuitive, but the best time to install a paver patio is during late fall to winter. The cold and wet weather of those seasons can help your patio installer perfect the foundation for your patio. Plus, you'll likely be able to find better sales and deals during the colder months when patio installation business is typically slower. Consult a local patio paver professional to determine the best time to install based on your area’s climate.
The cost of a paver patio is $3,800 for a 280-square-foot patio on average. Depending on the patio size, paver material, and design complexity, this cost can range from $2,400 to $7,000 or more.
The size of your patio is a significant factor in the project’s overall cost. If you're building a smaller patio of only 60 square feet, your costs will be closer to $480 to $1,500. If you want a more luxurious 900-square-foot patio, you'll spend closer to $7,200 to $22,500.
A paver patio can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years, depending on the type of pavers and how well you maintain them.
Travertine pavers are usually the most durable, lasting 100 years or more, with regular maintenance. Concrete brick pavers have a variety of shapes and colors available and typically last 25 to 50 years. Traditional brick pavers have a more classic look, lasting around 20 years with proper maintenance.
It's also necessary to install paver edging when installing a paver patio. This additional step helps prevent the paver borders from shifting outward, which happens due to frequent use and soil expansion over time. By being diligent and placing the paver edging during the patio installation, you can help minimize upkeep and repair costs. Plus, this feature can help maintain your pavers to keep them in place permanently.
While installing a paver patio yourself is possible, we don’t recommend it. First, this project is very time-consuming, averaging around 40 to 50 hours. Beyond the sheer amount of labor required, you need to have knowledge of yard grading and drainage so that rainwater doesn't puddle on your new patio.
Without sufficient expertise, you could encounter several problems, including improper placement and leveling of sand or improperly compacted soil, leading to an uneven surface. For these reasons, hiring a professional paver patio installer is advisable to build the patio of your dreams.
