Description of Work: I submitted a report about CGM recently which was motivated by frustraion over a recurrent roof leak on my home. As I described in an earlier message This a a recurrent problem and I was referred to CGM because they were utilized by a friend who had a very good experience with them. Unfortunately this was not the case with us. I think that the owner was not totally aware of the roofing problem and the workers who were sent out to examine the problem were focused on the wrong area of the roof. Needless to say I continued to have a roof leak into my kitchen with the first light rainfall. When the hurricaine struck I also was facing flooding in my basement and worsening roof leak . I had called CGM with the first roof leak and a worker came to the house and I directed him to pay attention to the top roof which I felt was the source of the problem. He checked this area running a water hose along the siding and onto to the roof but could not find anything wrong except for a few nail holes which he said he had caullked. Afterward I called the owner and asked that they re-examine this area because it had been repaired once before about 8-9 years ago and the roof stopped leaking at that time. He said he would do so but no one came back. I then left 2 more messages on his answering machine asking him if he were still interested in correcting the problem, but still did not get a response and since then we had more damage due due Hurricaine Irene. My wife was told by the worker who had had come over the first time that we needed a new roof. When I spoke with the owner he appeared to agree with me that I did not need one at this time and I thought he would honor the work that was done and correct the problem once and for all. He was professional and agreeable at the time and so I waited for a response which did not come. After a second call I asked if he were still interested in this job wishing to give him an opportunity to help us with our situation. Since 2 weeks had gone by and there was no response I assumed he was not going to return. Since then I had received another opinion and had photos taken of the upper roof which clearly show the root cause for the water leak. I don't know how this was missed but it was. I don't believe the owner knew of the roof's condition completely and states he did not get the voicemails I left on his business phone. I therefore wrote this review in anger and out of frustration. I do believe that CGM is a reputable construction company in general and unfortunately I did not have a very good experience for various reasons. I think we are all entitled to make mistakes and deserve a second chance. Although I tried to afford them a second chance the message apparently never got through. I believe him. Needless to say, I think my initial review of this company was harsh., but I also think it a shame that the first call back I recieve is after posting my review on Angie's list. I am therefore retracting my initial review of CGM and hope they understand the importance of prompt communication with their customers.
