Description of Work: I had used this "erstwhile" upholstery shop 15 years ago. There was seating for customers to peruse numerous sample books of fabrics by such high end manufacturers as Waverly. When I went in to redo a custom piano bench cover recently, the shop looked like a junkyard full of wood chairs. The obviously new proprietor said he only had two sample books, fabric was $40/ yard, but if that was too much I could go over to Hobby Lobby. He was also argumentative about what I wanted to have done, and after agreeing to get 2 yards of a satisfactory fabric, he said he'd have to call his upholsterer for an estimate. His estimate was $200 to $225 for labor for a 15 by 39 inch piano cushion. I ultimately ordered a custom one online for $187.00, delivery included. I was shocked at what had become of this establishment under this new owner.

Description of Work: He repaired a broken arm on an old family dining chair. Quick turnaround, and he did exactly as he said he would do. Not a big job but it was worth the 40 mile drive.

+ -1 moreThe work was performed timely and reasonably well. For the cost, I thought the stripping should have been done a little better as I had to spend a few hours sanding the desk before refinishing.
Description of Work: Sunburst stripped and repaired a 60 year old small oak desk. There were some minor repairs to fix a couple of cracks and a hole in the top. I also had them strip the desk to prepare for refinishing.

+ -1 moreI brought the chairs in on 11/7 to reupholster them, tighten up all the joints, and refinish the arms where the finish was worn from use. I brought in the fabric of my choice and asked if they might be ready for Thanksgiving though if not it would be fine. He said he'd try but couldn't make any promises. One week later they were ready! The work is beautiful. The finish on the arms matches the rest of the finish perfectly, the joints are solid, and the upholstry and padding is better than when they were new. I couldn't be happier and I'd have work done there in the future as well as recommend them to my friends.
Description of Work: I had four dining room chairs repaired, the arms refinished, and reupholstered.

+ -1 moreI brought the dresser in for an estimate. He was very professional. The work was done in a timely manner and he called me when it was ready. Very pleased with the price and the result.
Description of Work: I had a dresser repaired. The doors were broken off and some of the wood was warped. Sunburst replaced the warped panels, repaired the doors, reglued the drawers and cleaned the dresser. He also repaired the "footings" . The dresser looks excellent!

+ -1 moreBecause there was something like water damage to the doors and draws even the stripping didn't eliminate the spotting. Glenn suggested that we pick up the draws and doors as they were. He also suggested how we might complete the job. Rather than stain and polyurethane the vanity Glenn suggested that we might want to paint them instead. We picked up the draws and doors and completed the job ourselves. We appreciated Glenn's assessment of the situation and his practical suggestions. We felt his price was fair for the work that had been done (doors and draws stripped).
Description of Work: We brought in draws and doors of a bathroom vanity to be stripped and then refinished with stain and polyurethane. The draws and doors were stripped in preparation for refinishing.
