We called Lehigh to get an estimate on some spring landscape cleanup and refreshing (pruning, removing weeds, removing dead shrubs and replacing some of them with new ones and adding more stone ground cover). We called them on a Tuesday and they promptly gave us an appointment for the next morning. Anthony showed up right on time on Wednesday. He was very nice and personable and interested in what we felt we wanted done. However, after discussing the work needed (and giving him a typed out copy of that) he informed us that his expertise was really in lawns so he would need to discuss it with and maybe come back with a landscape guy. He took a number of pictures and then was finished for the day. Eight days later we had not heard back from them at all so I called their office. The person who answered the phone was unfamiliar with the specifics, but said that Anthony would call me back the next day (Friday), which he did. When he called, he apologized for the delay, reiterated that he would have to come back with more of a landscape guy the following week. He said he would call ahead of time to let us know. It is now end of day on the Wednesday of that following week and once again we have heard nothing from them. Maybe they're just very busy this time of year or maybe my job was just too small for them to really care about. I'm not sure which, but it's unreasonable for them to expect a customer to wait this long. I have therefore decided to go with one of the other landscapers who was actually able to give us a timely estimate for the work.

Unprofessional. While we were asking the manager to come to our house to see the fence, his crew went in the backyard doing the same thing ( leaf blowing near fence). I called manager who did not know that tehyt were there. We terminated the contract right there. No apologies form them. We will be going with our local guys from now on.

There were various crews that would come in for different tasks, and there were many pauses due to the weather so it took over all about four to five weeks. They did a great job, it was done as expected and was finished pretty much on time providing quality work.

We are pleased with the service. The same individual works on our lawn each time which is nice. He has gotten to know us and our yard and what our expectations are for it. The lawn has improved quite a bit under his care.

The owner of this company came out to give my family a quote on a walkway. At first he was very friendly and helpful. His professionalism quickly went away once we started talking about price. First the owner tried charging my family tax for the walkway - for home improvements such as stone walkways THERE IS NO TAX charged. Once we told him that we had several quotes, and that we should not be charged for tax he claimed to be a religious man, and that he always charges tax. He then went into a lecture about illegal activity and started bad mouthing police officers (even claiming that his brother was a local cop...). He told me how police officers were crooked and that they bother his workers because they are Hispanic and drive his vehicles without drivers licenses. He also claimed that it was unfair to him and his company, because they were just trying to make a living... How could a company owner say things like that when he does not know what the home owner does for a living? Try being a doctor and a guy coming over saying all doctors are quacks! I come from a law enforcement family and was very upset about the horrible things he was saying about the New York state criminal justice system! On top of that, would you really want someone operating heavy duty trucks on your property who are unlicensed? - god forbid there was an accident I did not want the liability. In the end I chose not to use Lehigh Landscaping due to his over charging for "tax" and his rude and unprofessional rant while at my house. I hope other members of service (police, fire, ems, corrections, ect..) call another company for their landscaping needs. Lehigh is not the company for you! UPDATE To Lehigh's response... My review is by no means "hear-say", the company gave my Mother a quote while I was present. I met Alan face to face, and heard everything he had to say. Unknowing to him, his anti-law enforcement rant is what cost him the job at my mothers house. Since 2011, I bought my own home, and in search of a landscaper for a walkway. I came on Angie's List to find a reputable company to use for my needs. I think it would be unfair to anyone looking for an honest company to remove my review of Lehigh landscaping. I stand by my words, they are honest, true, and accurate by MY OWN account... not hear say. I am sorry that the company did not like my review, but this site was developed to help customers find and hire professionals for their homes. The service I, and my mother received was far from professional.

Overall it went very well. Alan Lehigh came out and took pictures of my home. He then gave them to his landscape designer who really has a great eye and she came up with a couple of designs for me to look at that she created using a landscaping "photoshop" type of software. I was quite pleased with how much her design enhanced the curb appeal of my home. As is typical of me, I had a few ideas of my own and asked for some changes which they were happy to make for me. One iteration later I signed the contract and a week later they came out and did the work. I am very pleased with their knowledge of the types of trees/shrubs that will do well in challenging conditions and two months later everything is thriving. I had planned on receiving much smaller trees and shrubs than were actually delivered, so I was quite happy to see the size of the plants I received. Everyone that comes to the house comments on how beautiful the landscaping is. The money spent is well worth the investment.
