Description of Work: After another contractor walked off the job (on Thurs.) because he wanted to do the job as he wanted, not as I wished, I gave Wayne a call. I had hired him in 2008 to do my roof, which he did well. I had not called him previously for this job because I thought he only did roofing. Turns out he does siding repairs and much more, both interior and exterior, but doesn't advertise those services because roofing is his specialty. In any case, I called him on Friday night. On Saturday he returned my call and told me he could look at it on Sunday. He came over late Sunday morning. I told him that I needed some siding reinstalled that blew off my house in a big wind storm. It involved replacing all the pieces on the southern gable of the house. He looked at it and gave me a price of $250. I then said fine, as long as you do some other small things for me. One was caulking around the air conditioner box which was never done and leaked, and putting a strap around a downspout which had fallen off. I instructed him that I wanted him to use my nails as they were corrosion resistant. He understood and told me why. The previous guy wanted to use his own plain steel nails, which I would not approve. Wayne had no issues with using my nails and nailing into the studs because my house has homosote which doesn't grab nails well. Since he was agreeable to what I wanted, I agreed to his price. He then left to go back to his shop and do some other things. About two hours later, he came back with an assistant, two ladders, and a staging. He did the job in about an hour and a half, cleaned the siding, did the other jobs, and cleaned up the area. He didn't waste any time and did not stand around chatting or anything else. I couldn't have expected more. I will hire him for future work. By the way, when he did my roof, he was the least expensive contractor, but did an excellent job. I live in Wappingers and wanted a local guy. Wayne and his family have deep roots in the area. He stands behind his work and will do a good job for you.

Description of Work: A 2 day job became 4 days.Evening, Wednesday July 11th. discovered roof flashing unsightly, old shingles, tar paper and nails around entire house, shingles not installed properly where main roof meets porches, areas where bees, birds and bats could make nests, gable siding not finished as agreed and left open again to bees, birds, and bats. Morning Thursday July 12 after calling the owner Wednesday night about the unfinished cleanup and poor workmanship, owner and helper arrived to make right the many wrongs listed above. Their attitude was very good and addressed all issues I pointed out to them.Sunday July 15th. it was discovered by the Dish Network technician that the gutters were full of nails, roof shingle pieces and tar paper along with saw dust from the installation of the "Cobra ridge vent". These items could have clogged my gutter system and have caused me further expense, time and frustration. The contract specifically stated the gutters, all areas around the house and job was to be done professionally; this job was not completed by professionals. I have photos if necessary. In addition the grass areas around the house were burned because the company didn't put tarpaulins to catch debris and protect the grass from sun burn. Our biggest mistake was we DIDN'T check with Angieslist.com; not always a guarantee, but certainly better than not checking at all.
