After seeing bats circling my property for two consecutive nights and observing evidence of the presence of bats on my property (guano), I freaked out and immediately headed to Angie's List to find a reputable company to remediate a potential bat issue. One of the companies I called (that was highly rated) was located in Westchester and, while they were unsure when they could get to my home, the owner offered to call his nephew to see if he could get here sooner. Enter Chris Breining. Turns out, Chris has been working with his uncle for many years and has his own batproofing company out of Dutchess County. Chris called me back that afternoon and scheduled an inspection for that very evening. He arrived on time and, after inspecting my attic, he very honestly said that he didn't see any evidence of bats. Frankly, he could have said anything to me at that point as I was totally freaked out. He proceeded to inspect the outside of my house and found some possible entry points with possible evidence of the presence of bats. He was very knowledgeable and informative, and tried to quell my fears. Given there were possible entry points, I elected to hire him to remove any bats that could possibly be there and to seal the potential entry points. The very next day, Chris arrived on time and installed temporary one way vents which remained in place for a week (to allow any bats that may have been present to exit). The following Tuesday, as promised, Chris called to let me know that he would be there first thing the following morning to remove the vents and seal the openings. First thing Wednesday morning, Chris arrived, removed the vents and sealed the openings. In consideration of my concern regarding the aesthetics of my home, Chris used clear silicone to seal the openings and made sure that nothing could be seen. To think, I lost a night's sleep worrying about how it was going to look. Chris' services come with a ten year guarantee, during which time, if any bats gain access to the property, he will return to fix the problem at no charge. While I really like Chris, I hope I never need to call him again!! If you suspect you may have bats on your property, I would recommend that you call Chris....he will perform an inspection (cost of which is applied to any work that needs to be done) and I am confident he will be very honest with you as to the extent of your problem and what needs to be done. He will respect your property when doing his work and your time by showing up when he says he will!!
